As Pogo used to note, Friday the Thirteenth comes on Thursday this month!  Be careful!!  I finally found the keys to the door, the grill is fired up and cooking brats and burgers for lunch, the Silver Bullet is showing READY with Rail Bender Blend, there appear to be plenty of the usual soft drinks available on the counter, and it's time to enjoy the rest of the day.

Had an Op Session here last night for which the "afterglow" lasted until around midnight, so it's been a slow go today so far.  Need to go look at the post-it notes scattered around and get after the "Need to Fix This" stuff before my next go on 09 April.

Make it a great day, All, and stay safe!

Good afternoon, Pete.  It feels like Friday the 13th.  I started the day at the VA where I was simply picking up a hearing aid that had been repaired.  It took me 20 minutes just to find a parking place!  I was in and out of the VA in no time.  Next stop was Home Depot where I picked up some light bulbs, which after I wandered through the lighting section, I learned were at the other end of the store.

Thanks for the coffee. I needed it.

Good afternoon, all. The NH seacoast has had overcast all day, ranging from hazy sun early to cloudy bright now.  I've spent much of the day adding the 2020 year to my Eastern Route thread, but now I need to check for eggs again. And then I need to step away from the computer for at least the rest of the afternoon.

It's late afternoon, and I've reached frustration saturation.  The line inside the wall from the basement to the home office on the 2nd floor that connects the external ethernet has failed.  The best alternative seems to be running a replacement along the outside of the house, mostly hiding it underneath the vinyl siding.  To minimize the size of the holes in the outside wall, I cut one connector off an external ethernet cable.  I ran that line early this week when it was nice and warm, and then ordered the tools to add the connector that I cut off.  Well, I've spent most of the day trying to get the connectors to work.  There's 8 wires there, and you have to get them in exactly the right order on both ends.

At this point, the new line is working, but not well.  A friend who understands this stuff suggested that I uniformly mis-wired both connectors.  The wires should be 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.  My connector shows the same wires are at the same pin locations on either end, but my friend thinks I might have gotten them wired as 1, 2, 3, 6, 5, 4, 7, 8.   Ugh...

So no trains today.

Afternoon all,

In spite of still dealing with this respiratory crud I managed to get a good workbench session in this afternoon.  Don't you just hate, after painting and weathering everything, when you find a primed, but unpainted/weathered, window hiding underneath something on the workbench?  :D

Have a great one!
