Morning storm an 600 and had me roll over for some more Xs and Zs, Ys said to leave them out of it. Afternoon now and it's just 670 but cleared off with a nice breeze. I'm just back in from a walk and visit with a couple neighbors, caught up on a little news, the fiber optic folks have been working hard on the internet since we were here. Still no time on when but... getting there  :o

The trip to Marquette was nice. This beautiful 1891 building was a highlight
IMG_2206.jpeg

It sits a block off Lake Superior in the main business area. Beautiful brown stone is prevalent in older buildings in the area.  :D

Little to add. Oh, the long hair cat is getting buzzed. Grand daughter is baking me a peach pie!  :o Can't wait.

It sounds like everyone is busy, enjoy the day

What's interesting about that building, Karl, is the square topped windows.  Normally 1890s era brick buildings had arched windows.  But here, because of what I presume is an abundance of local sandstone, the windows have red sandstone lintels that pretty much match the color of the red brick.  (Or, those lintels might be fired clay, basically large "bricks", I'm not sure.)

The rustic stone on the ground floor gives the entire structure a "Richardsonian Romanesque" sense.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richardsonian_Romanesque  See this, his last railroad station:  https://www.iridetheharlemline.com/2014/09/26/h-h-richardsons-last-station-new-london-union-station/

Good evening all.

Hope you all had a great day.
Nothing exciting happened here today.

Tomorrow is another hike with a very early start.
Won't be here in the AM but I'll check in in the PM.

Good night.

Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, bagels, OJ and soda.

Started out the day with a walk at 72F and very damp from the heavy evening rain. We recieved 2+ inches.

In a couple of hours we'll head up to the Gainesville area.

Jerry we own 3 and are hosting 6 for the rescue (what we call the ambassadors). Remember, it's not like 9 dogs. They only vocalize among themselves (infrequently) and only come out in mass for meals. You may not see one for hours.

That's all I got.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning everyone.

I'm shocked I have cell service here at the trailhead.

It's a brisk 47 now but will reach the mid 70's later.

Curt, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.

Have a great day everyone.

Larry C

Good Morning,

Curt thanks for the coffee and breakfast.Must be quite the sight when they all come out from hiding to eat.

Rick being at a trailhead I can only assume a hike is in your immediate future. Be safe and enjoy.

What's on your agenda for the day.

It's a sunny 68 with a high of 92 here in New York. Some bench time this am then Ellie has her yearly Cardiologist visit this afternoon then grabbing dinner to bring home. Managed to get a lot of the tree cut up yesterday; Have two 20 ft. limbs yet to cut then it's cleanup time and that project will be done;
hopefully Wednesday.

Have an enjoyable day!!! Be well and stay safe.

Good morning Curt, Rick, Larry and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Curt, safe travels.

Rick, enjoy the hike today.

Larry, hope Ellie's cardiologist's visit goes well.

Currently 18C (64F) and sunny today.  Had a busy day yesterday and got a lot accomplished.  The printers got relocated so I have my workbench space back, watched the F1 race, did some cleaning up and took my sister to the airport as she flew back home yesterday.  Today might have some bench time after a grocery run and a bureau assembly.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning Crew!

Another humid day in the valley. Dental appt again @ 1300. Oh fun.

My correct speaker is suppose to arrive today for the decoder. Still haven't tore into the mower carb.

Fixing to walk a bit around the neighborhood.

Have a great 30th!

Sunny but humid, 69 headed to 84 today.  My brother and his wife are driving to Portsmouth NH to meet us for lunch.  It's been a while since we've seen them.  So probably no 'training' today.  Next step on the machine shop project is to prep and paint the belt drive parts.

Good morning Crew from Wisconsin. Hopefully a nice day as it's starting out that way. The humidity prediction is at 54% for this afternoon but we may hit 90f degrees.

We need to get out and the thinking last night is a trip to nowhere. Normally a 2 hour drive from home base is on the table but we've explored most of that 2 hour driving radius. Somehow Terry is still sleeping at 8:27am which means she had a tough night so I'll let her go till 9 when I check on her. I was searching for a decent breakfast/brunch place and I may have found a new one to us about 90 minutes out. Local out of the way diners usually have great food

Enjoy your day

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Curt, Love the fresh OJ.

Rick, it's always good to have cell service.

Just got off the phone with Medicare. The Anesthesiologist sent me a bill for $1,800.00 from the hernia surgery. Seems like some idiot in his office miscoded the insurance claim and has Medicare as my secondary. Anyway, I should send him my bill for fixing their mistake.

In other news. I'm in the train shed working on the garage build. Pam got up this morning with a sore throat so I got her back in bed. As you can guess, she is worn out from everything.

Have a safe and happy day everyone.

A pleasant mid 60s, hazy bight becoming overcast here at the compound. The girls headed home after being so helpful and pleasant company all weekend. May warm to 70s ;) , we'll see.

A trash run to the pickup point in town and a couple stops will occur shortly.

Our neighbor called, said he had spoken with the new fiber optic cable guy and they were taking orders. I called the Nate the Cable Guy and made appointments for July 9 to run the line and 12th to install it. 400mbps is 20 times the speed back home. They have flexible plans for part timers that sound reasonable.

That's about it for now. Best to all with medical/dental appointments. Not fun.

Be well all. Enjoy the hike, Rick

Good morning,

Curt, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast.

Hope everyone is doing well.

It's a nice morning on Lake Wedowee, AL.  We are visiting our daughter's lake place this week. The temperature is 81F, headed to 84F with partly cloudy skies and a cool breeze.

Connectivity is somewhat lacking, so this is brief.

Have fun,
mike
