Rain and 650 here at Northern Command after 100% sun on the 70s all day Friday. Today two area communities have special events I'm sure the rain will fowl up. Hopefully the rain will stop before a total wash. July 4th fireworks are rain delayed from last Saturday's rain.

The internet installer is due this morning looking forward to that.

I've been up early since oh-s;:30 when the new batch of 'skeeter bites kicked :0 itching  like madness ::)

TomO in your mention of Keeney's layout I didn't realize you were talking about the new paper mill. That assembly is made with Design Preservation Models modules and/or Walthers Cornerstone Modules.

Little else new here. Enjoy the day all. Stay safe.

Good morning ACLTom, Curt, Karl and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Tom.

Tom, have fun running trains with Bill.

Curt, sounds like you have an easy day.

Karl, hope the high speed internet gets connected without any issues.

Currently 20C (68F) and sunny. It's supposed to be the first day of a heat wave that we are going to have this week, although what is considered a heat wave here is considered cool weather in Florida.

Need to make a Costco run this morning and then I get to work today, hopefully I'll be able to get it all done so I don't have to work tomorrow.  Maybe some bench time tonight.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning,

Mike so sorry to hear about your friend.

Tom thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Have fun in the shed...Let the BS'ing commence.

Curt you should hang a sign on the front of your house "Lepew Inn."

Karl hope the itch goes away soon.

Ron don't work too hard; save some energy for the bench.

What's the rest of you up to.

It's a sunny 72 with a high of 89 and some storms later. Received my cars yesterday and glued a set of couplers to the diesel and one car. Made my first laps around the layout spotting the car. Fun days ahead. Daughter's coming over tomorrow so a little extra cleaning this am; the Boss says so. Not sure about the rest of the day.

Have a great day!! Be well and stay safe.

Good morning everyone.

Stanley, ID weather: Sunny, with a high near 87.

ACLTom, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
Have fun running trains with Bill and Curt.

Ron, working on the weekend?

Karl, hope the internet installers show up.

Curt, have fun at Tom's.

Greg, enjoy your relaxing weekend.

Mike, sorry about the loss of your friend.

TomO, she sounds like an interesting young lady.

Jerry, hope the airport pick-up went well.
Surprised they didn't take the train.

Larry, any news from the bench?

Laundry got done and all my hairs were cut.
Then started driving to the Sawtooth's.
Still have another 2 hour drive to get close to the trailhead for the hike I want to do tomorrow.

A scene from my hike on the Palisades Creek Trail.

Good morning,

Tom, thanks for opening, coffee, and eggs. Wishing you a fun session today.

Curt, sounds like a house full of critters.  Have fun at Tom's.

Karl, congratulations on the fast internet installation.  Mosquito bites, yikes. I just got over 11 bites I got while at my sister's place.  They itched for over two weeks.

Ron, hope you git'er done today.

Larry, congrats on the delivery of the cars.  Wishing you a great time with your daughter.

Rick, safe travels.  I'm looking forward to your Sawtooth photos.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's a bright morning at 73F, headed to 91F.  Thank you for your condolences.  The funeral was a wonderful tribute to such a great man.  Bagpipes, silver taps, and a 911 call broadcasting his service and ending with "End of watch" made it a touching ceremony at the graveside.

Hope to continue scenery work upstairs.  Yesterday was good progress on the first layer of plaster wrap.

Have fun,
mike
My current build is the Layout scenery and miscellaneous rolling stock .

Good morning Crew from So Central very wet Wisconsin. Over 5" of rain in my rain gauge yesterday and this morning. You can cut the humidity today with a knife. High later will be a dry 84f degrees.

Rick she seems to be! If she sticks around (lives with her grandparents) it will be interesting. I was part of a grade school friend group of 6 in 7th and 8th grade that had 2 girls in it. One went to a different high school and we lost touch. The other I have now known for 60+ years and is one of my closest friends. Terry has never had an issue with that. The 4 guys we stayed in close touch but I lost 2 of them to VietNam and the other 2 to an accident they were in together.

We may visit the Madison Art Fair today or tomorrow. A great show and we have made many purchases over the years but it's so busy now it has lost much of its appeal for us. The website says:

With its mix of music, entertainment, and outdoor dining, as well as over 500 artists exhibiting paintings, prints, photographs, sculpture, jewelry, handmade clothing and accessories, and fine craft, the fair draws nearly 200,000 visitors to Madison's Capitol Square.

I will let Terry decide.

I doubt I'll see the train room today

Enjoy the day

Thanks Karl. I have a few Cornerstone bits and pieces of walls. The layout owner has bits of walls I think from every kit except Cornerstone. I have the mill sketched out and will be starting the background buildings in a few weeks. Andy's mill just seems to have a uniqueness I have not seen on the layouts here. That's the look I was going for and it kind of shocked me when I saw his! Nothing is unique in model railroading I guess.

Mommy, the webserver ate my post!

Nothing really significant to add.  Back to the train room to work on the machine shop.

Morning everyone

Tom thanks for the coffee & breakfast.

Curt sounds like a household full of skunks!!

Karl I haven't had a skeeter bite in years.  Sorry to hear there eating you alive.

Ron work on Saturday??

Larry sounds like the cars put a smile on your face.

Nice picture Rick.

Mike sorry to hear about you friend.  Sounds like a beautiful ceremony.

TomO have fun at the Fair.

Morning Dave.

Weather here in South Jersey cloudy/78.  But oh so humid/89%.
Rick the ride up and pick-up was okay.
But the traffic coming back home was bumper to bumper all the way to Toms River.
I can't use the work for tourists that need to go to the beach on a cloudy day!!
Anyway Diane's cousin is here for the weekend and we are having a great time.

Everyone have a wonderful day!! :)

Morning Gang! 8)

Out early helping with the garden. Doing the garden hose drag again with the better half in charge. A 30% chance of rain looms and would be welcomed.

Thanks for the diamond plate modeling tips. I may go with plain old steel as diamond plate was first made in 1930. My Camelback is 1900 or so.

Here are a couple photos Allen Littlefield fashioned from a prescription medication peeling lid. I see these all the time and it never dawned on me!

Have a great Saturday!

My condolences Mike. I totally missed this.

Nearly 10 phone calls and texts my 0800 appointment with installers was all wrapped up by...3:30pm. They have a serious p/r problem with fubar scheduling and disconnect between sales and boots on the ground.  Install crew were two good ole (young) Southern Gentlemen from Mississippi, contractors.

New fiber speed is 442 download and 400 upload.  :o

Cellular was 13.5:d/l and 0.48 upload.

Good evening all.

Karl, that's blazing fast.

Greg, glad everyone had a great time at Tom's.

Philip, looks like that will work.

I won't be here in the AM. I'll be up and out well before sunrise to do a nice hike.
This area is busy and all the good camping spots were taken.
I got to the end of the road and a camper in a van waved me over.
Said he was leaving and I could have his spot.
Got lucky again.  ;D

Here's the view from camp.

I'll see you again Monday AM.
Have a great night.
