Rick

Good morning everyone.

McCall weather: Sunny, with a high near 83.

I'm up even earlier than I wanted to be.
Too early for coffee and breakfast.
Next person in can get those started.
Keeping it brief to get ready to head to another hike.

I'll see you all tomorrow.
Have a great day!

PRR Modeler

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening Rick and enjoy your hike.

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, bagels, yogurt, OJ, and soda.

Started out the day with a walk with a feel like temp of 87F. :o Now I don't want to move. Last night for some reason it became our emergency to take Dad to get a new Nook. Had supper out then MOH had to set it up for him.

Today is animal chores, washing towels and picking up daughter and SIL at the airport. The 4 skunks being babysat go home tomorrow.

Not much else happening here.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning folks,

Rick, thanks for opening.  Wishing you a fantastic hike.

Curt, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.  Sounds like a busy day.

How is the rest of the gang?

It's overcast this morning, but clearing later.  The high is forecast for 91F.

I'm not sure what the day has in store.  I need to go buy paint and I keep putting that off. Decals and detail painting may consume the day.

Have fun,
mike

Good morning everyone!

Thanks for the opening of the lounge Rick, hope you have a good hike, stay safe!

Thanks for the breakfast Curt.
Hey, it's a new day and I'll have a bagel with my coffee and a slug of OJ to clear the palate.

Currently it's 72 with a high of 82 in the forecast. A small amount of rain around 2:00 pm is coming as well.

I have some current 1:1 projects to complete before I can come about to begin a new thread. I do plan on doing that when I can get it edited. It may be the one I started in the S & S Interchange Gazette article with Kris P. Blackmarr,
but hey, it's better than nothing! We shall see what I can come up with.

Hope you all have a great day.

Rich

It's already 82 at 8:20, heading to 89 but heat index over 100 with high humidity.  Chance of thunderboomers starting mid-afternoon, but a cold front with drier air moving through tonight.   :)  Hopefully, despite the weather, I'll build up some steam to work on at least one belt installation on the machine shop project, and think more about the aux shafts.

Good Morning,

Rick have a safe and enjoyable hike.

Curt thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Don't overdue on the 1:1 stuff.

Mike hope you get your paint and have fun at the bench.

Rich looking forward to your new thread.

Dave hope your weather isn't too bad and enjoy the belt installation.

What are your plans for the day.

It's a cloudy, muggy, and on & off rain @ 73 with a high of 83 in New York. Ran some errands already then off to the UPS store to send a package. Maybe some bench time later on.

Have a great day!! Be well and stay safe.

Good Morning from another round of smoke and mirrors err, rather fog :o  The Canadian fires are back at full blast, air quality is terrible.

Spent some time working on the little building kit, ran out of stained strips to finish the outside. Not sure when I'll resume.

What an experience. Michigan A-10s like shown used to be based just S of me and often passed over just about that low going to the live range in the Northern lower Michigan. Miss them. Guard unit in BC now has no aircraft, word is they are remote flying drones half a world away.

Time to get rolling. Be well all.

Good late morning fellow modelers. Haven't posted much since Northern Command was opened in late spring. And not much will happen until Northern Command is closed come Mid-September or October.

I have been working on the HOn30 quarry layout when home and it's either raining or to hot outside for 1:1 projects.

If you're wondering where this paradise is, here's a Google link. The mobile home park is the white area near Kring's General store.

Good morning Crew and thanks for the passport well wishes. Wisconsin weather is humid and humid!

Had to move to the front porch a few minutes ago from the back deck. The neighbor kid finally decided to cut the 3 yards adjacent to us that he gets paid very well for. Looks like his schedule is 12 days instead of the 7 days it should be. I was in my own world when I hear Tom, Tom! He was calling for me apologizing that he was going to start cutting. That was nice

Fingers are crossed on the Passport. One of the nicest USPS employees I have ever met helped us out yesterday. A correction to the State Department was filled out. The fee of $215 for the correction was waived as the postal clerk who handled our passport renewal he says the error should have caught by the clerk taking the renewnal and at the State Department when they checked the original birth certificate with the application. Because it's their error even though Terry says she's ultimately responsible he said no it's part of the fees you paid. Any who! She should have a new passport in 21 days but if we haven't heard anything in 10 call this employee and he will handle the contacting the State Department office in Chicago. He thinks we'll have it in time. It's 23 days till we leave.

If not we have a plan with the AirBnB. Instead of losing 50% we'll lose $100 if we will go there in November. The property manager said as long as we book the November date (Terry did) she will only charge the $100 fee if we have to cancel because she doesn't receive the passport in time. Fingers crossed.

I was going to head up to Hiawatha Hobbies (70 miles)but Terry doesn't want to go and unbelievably neither of my buddies can either. The painter who does my diesel strip, paint and decal work is taking time off in November and December. That was the original time frame to start my next personal project. I need 1 more unit and Hiawatha has 1 Sd70Ace left.

While 6 axles are overkill for my switching layout they are allowed on "run what you brung" OPS Sessions on 3 layouts I operate on that alternate sessions every month. They can stretch out then.

I will call to double check they have the unit for me and put it aside. I've learned Hiawatha inventory online is not always correct
