Less smoke, for now, and cooler in MI this morning.  Temp in mid 50s going to mid 70s with lower humidity and a light breeze. Increased smoke forecast for later and into tomorrow.  It was so smoky at times yesterday the air was blue.

1:1 on the To Do list for today. Ground hog eradication is on the list. Continuing yard and lawn tasks.

Mike, congrats to SIL, I'm sure the Fire Dept folks had plenty of tales, long and tall.  Nothing like a bunch of smoke eaters in party mode.  Ruined many a brain cell at after training night watering hole sessions during my 18 yr fire dept side gig. ::)

Ran into my son at Walgreens yesterday, says he's been feeling punk since 4th of July, going to doc today.

James, peaches sound great. Sweet corn is starting to show up along the roadsides here.  Might have some once, it usually takes care of the urge..

Good morning everyone.

I'm right on the Idaho and Washington border.
Weather today will be mid 80's and partly cloudy.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast.

Didn't get out of the ER till 8PM :-X
Didn't bother setting up the computer so I'm on the phone and keeping it brief.

Turns out I have a clot and need to take blood thinners for three months.
I'll need to do less risky hikes to reduce the risk of falling and bleeding.
But the doctor said staying active will be good.
There's a flat paved trail nearby that Star and I will do after I pick up my prescription.

Have a great day everyone.

Rick, glad to hear you got a diagnosis and treatment for that clot.  Those can be nasty!

Weather here is just about perfect.  It got down to 58 last night, 66 on its way to 75, sun and low humidity.  I -should- do something outside, instead I'll go downstairs and work on the machine shop.  Before I glue the aux shafts into position, I need to touch up some paint on the hangers.  I did get all of the belts glued onto the aux shaft pulleys last night.

Good Morning,

Curt thanks for the coffee and breakfast. We had to replace our A/C unit a couple of years ago due to the 20+ years of use. Hope the new install goes well.

Mike have fun at the bench.

James nothing like homegrown anything.

Karl we've had HG sweetcorn a few times already. The BS tomatoes are my favorite.

Rick sorry to hereabout the leg but glad you caught it early.

Dave sounds like you're making good progress; enjoy.

What's your plans for the day.

It's a sunny 60 with a high of 78 in New York. The Vet's visit wasn't great news. He has a discoloration under his tongue and it's either an infection or a tumor. They gave him an antibiotic shot hoping that will do the trick. Monday Mr. B has his annual physical so we'll know more then. The drooling is a side effect from the tongue. He also lost another pound so he's down to 13; not good. If it's an infection that's treatable; if it's a tumor then he's pretty well screwed. After that we never made it out for dinner so the plan is for today.

Have a great day!! Be well and stay safe.

James glad to hear you beat them to the fruit, they tend to be PITA's sometimes.

Karl it's not "Groundhog Day" yet!!

Rick did they ay what caused it?  Take it easy for a few days.

Dave outside work can always wait!!  ;D

Cute video Philip.

Larry hope Mr. B it's only an infection.

Weather in South Jersey not a sky in the clouds!!
From 94 yesterday to 65 today.  What the is with this weather anymore??
Well I have all the ood cut and ready for framing of the new building.
I tried to salvage the side walls but that wasn't possibe so It's going to be a start over at least the pier didn't get smashed.

Good afternoon everyone,

Thanks for the coffee Curt, Safe travels.

Dave, funny story about going to court. It's amazing what people will try to pull off.  Sounds like you're making progress on the mill again.

Rick, good job you caught the clot early.  Enjoy your hike with Star.

Another great day here with sunny skies and the current temperature of 21c (70f).  Manage some bench time last night after eating and taking apart a bookcase that I sweat contained 274 screws.  :o  Manage to lay another 3 ft of track.  Once I get a little mode laid I'll post an update.

Have a great day everyone.

NJ has a license ticket point system.  Too many points and you lose your license for a while.  I'm guessing Other Guy was close to the limit, and that ticket would have caused him to lose his license.  I can only hope he did lose his license for a Very Long Time.  I walked out of the courtroom saying "Too bad there's not capital punishment for traffic violations."

It really does take a lot of gall to go around someone stopped at the red light and then try to beat a ticket.  I'm guessing he hoped that no witnesses would show up for the trial, so the ticket would be dismissed for lack of evidence/testimony.  "Sorry Charlie.  You lose."  (Needless to say, wife's Fiat Strada - their VW Rabbit clone- was totaled.  Actually, that wasn't such a bad thing, it was rusty and probably unsafe, so we got insurance value for it.)

TomO/Tloc

Good morning to all that are another day older.

The weather in Wisconsin even at 55f degrees right now is fine. Mid 70's possible 80 later. That smoke haze they claim will be lighter today but no idea when the lighter part begins. But considering yesterday was our "supposed" worst day of the Summer, it would not take much to be lighter. Yesterday I seemed to not only smell the smoke I could taste it. Yesterday outside was not pleasant.

I'm keeping today flexible but Terry and the smoke do not do well together. I changed the air filter to the whole house AC system already this morning. My Nest "smart" thermostat told me my 45 day change was due today.

Enjoy the day

Rick, clots are dangerous so it's great you did see a doctor. Be well

Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, day old donuts, yogurt, OJ, and soda.

The house continues to be a cool 78F which makes me happy. The only thing on tap for today are chores and starting to pack things for the upcoming trip. We finalized our plans and will be gone for 7 days.

Tom called me yesterday to let me know that the SBG's mutual friend Jon had passed the previous day. It's always sad to lose a friend.

Rick I hope your leg is healing. As TomO mentioned, clots are potentially very dangerous.

Larry I hope Mr.B got the results you were hoping for.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning,

Curt thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Sorry to hear about your friend; my condolences.
Won't know anything until Monday but it's not looking good; he's pretty much has stopped eating.

Rick take care of that leg and hope the clot goes away soon.

It's a sunny 54 with a high of 79 in New York. After the grass dries it's time to mow the lawn; maybe it'll get my mind off things for awhile. We did manage to have dinner out yesterday then stopped for ice cream on the way home.

Have a great day!! Be well and stay safe.

Good morning crew.

Hope your feeling better Rick? So very odd as active as you are getting a blood clot. I was thinking all the long hours driving may have contributed to that clot.

Sorry for your loss Curt.

A cool start today in the mid 60's. Relief at last. Mowed yesterday, another fine cooler day.

As Karl say's be well gang!

Philip
