Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, bagels, yogurt, cake donuts, OJ, and soda.

Started out the day with a walk at 76F with brutal humidity. :-* Yesterday I drained the pool again along with other pool chores. I also trimmed the front hedge and reattached the dryer vent hose that a skunk had pulled loose. They always make a beeline for the back of the machines. The door is normally closed for that reason.

Today we're only supposed to get 3-4 hours of rain. I figure that this week so for I have recieved 5-6 inches of rain. The ground is saturated and there's standing water in many places.

TomO I believe you have family and friends in the area of TX flooding. I pray everyone is OK.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all,

Curt, thanks for breakfast and OJ.

I need to edge and cut the grass but it is to wet and not even 6:45 and very muggy as Curt mentioned.

Jerry, yes, I always take a book to read while sitting in the car waiting for Pam. I tried to sit in the salon but as you can imagine, way to much chatter to read.  8)

We were gone most of the day and when I got home I was to tired to get to the bench.

Today will either be work bench or grass cutting. Have to wait and see.

My Winter Challenge prizes arrived yesterday.

Have a great day everyone and stay safe.

Good morning everyone.

SLC weather: Sunny, with a high near 91.
Too hot here and can't wait to get back to Idaho and into higher elevations.

I see Curt is here and hopefully making breakfast.

Karl, have fun sitting back and enjoying the visitors.
I probably won't be doing any books.
Most here won't even watch my videos and they're free.

Jerry, nice update to your project.

Mike, Main Street road done?

TomO, F1 was filmed in iMax.
Is that how you saw it?
Will you watch today's race?

Ron, have fun watching the race today.

Larry, congratulations on the foam score.

Curt, I guess it does look like that mountain in the film logo.

Dave, I don't enjoy the summer heat nearly as much as when I was younger.

ACLTom, I'm sure you had a very enjoyable day with Pam.

Dale, any news from Colorado?

The web said the dealer was open yesterday but the sign on the door said otherwise.  :-\
So oil change will have to wait till tomorrow.
Today I need to wash the van.
Then probably a gym visit.

One of the four elk I saw on the way to Delta Lake.

Have a great day everyone.

Rick some people I know went to the F1 movie and said it was terrific. The last race movie I went to was LeMans...showing my age.

Another friend went to the new Dino movie and said don't waste your money.

Morning everyone,

I sure wish someone would throw me a slice of toast, as this coffee I'm drinking is getting cold.
I could use something tasty to help wash it down.  :P

I've been plugging away at my 1:1 projects since the flood and the fish pond in the yard has been cleaned of mud water, fish are back in their "natural" habitat and living
once again in fresh water AND my inside fireplace is good to go! Wife is happy...and frankly the RR projects
may begin to come into view once again. We hope.

We replaced a wood-burning Ben Franklin Stove that had rusted chimney sections, inside and out. Pic #1

With this: Glacial Gray stacked stone and blue stone limestone mantel, corbels, and hearth
(pic #2) with interior lights on.
(pic #3) with natural daylight. Also notice the gold glass candelabra for tealight candles when not burning a fire. Oh, and the ceiling molding has be re-installed. I took these pictures before doing that!

This was any easy project. Just took only three days from start to finish. Glad it's done!
What do you think?

Good Morning,

Curt thanks for the coffee and doughnuts. Careful in the heat and sounds like the critters
keep you hop'in.

Tom I'd opt for the workbench especially in your heat and humidity. Nice to hear you received
your prizes; you certainly deserve them with that great build.

Rick nice photo; the elk looks quite comfy. Enjoy the gym.

Rich nice looking fireplace area. Glad to hear the 1:1 projects are behind you.

What's your plans for the day.

It's a sunny but muggy 78 with a high of 92 w/ 85% humidity; going to be an indoors day. After working
on 1:1 projects today is going to be a rest day before my busy week ahead starts. Hopefully some
bench time as well. Looking at Brett's website yesterday he has a new kit coming out that looks amazing;
I'm fighting the urge to do a preorder. It would ship sometime this month.

Have a great day!! Be well and stay safe.

Good morning Curt, ACLTom, Rick, Rich, Larry and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and donuts Curt, be careful in that heat.

Tom, I'm thing bench time would be the best bet for today.

Rick, great pic of the elk and have fun at the gym.

Rick, that is quite the fire place transformation, I like the new look.

Larry, Brett's kits are always great.  Enjoy your day relaxing.

Well, it's currently 26C (79F) and cloudy with rain in the forecast.  Had a busy day yesterday and was almost to tired to get to the bench.  I made it down anyway and started wiring the turnouts for the staging yard.  I even broke down and bought a 3D filament printer, like I don't have enough of them already.  :o   Today's plan is trimming the tree at the front of the house as a branch will slap you in the face when it is wet after a rain.  After that is watching the F1 race and spending some time at the bench.  But first it's time to take Gracie for a walk before it gets too hot out.

Have a great day everyone.

Rich, what's the fuel for that fireplace?  Wood or gas?

Rick, nice picture.  I like Karl's idea of a book with stories and photos.

Today's challenge, how to trim down the shaft on the right part to fit into the hole in the left part.
IMG_0910.jpeg
Those are (Rio Grande Models) soft white metal castings.  The holes are drilled out to .032.  There are actually 2 of those brackets, holding the drive shaft for the belt wheels, and the right part is the belt shifter from idler pulley to drive pulley.

I got some new paints to play with, too.  Dark metallic, including a Badger 'silver' primer.

Morning everyone

Curt thanks for the coffee & breakfast.

So Tom when do you start building the winning kits??

Rick great picture of the Elk.
He looks very content.

Rich great looking fireplace.
Now will there be time for some modeling??

Larry that would be a nice addition to your RR.  It's a nice looking model he just came out with.

Ron enjoy the race.  Hope you get some time at the bench also.

Dave I would think very carefully.

Weather in South Jersey is sunny/79.  Later on 90.
No beach until the tourists go the hell back home where they belong.
Maybe an hour or two at the bench later today.

Everyone have a great day!!  :)

Cold and wet after a night of power outages following a late afternoon thunderstorm that killed the fireworks in town and kept us under cover on the deck.  Temps to remain in the 60s all day.

Visitors are enjoying their time here. Sure not a typical 4th weekend weather here.

Little planned here, late breakfast is being prepared as we speak.

Enjoy the day all.

Howdy folks,

Curt, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast.  Congrats on the pool success.  I hope water is cheap down there.

TomACL, I hope you came to your senses and visited the workbench instead of the lawn...

Rick, good luck with the oil change tomorrow.  Terrific elk shot.

Rich, congrats on the clean water and neat fireplace.

Larry, hope the busy week goes well.  Good luck with the potential kit...

Ron, staging is good!  Enjoy your new printer.  Good luck with the trimming.

Dave, good luck with fitting the shaft.

Jerry, hope the touristas leave sooner than later.  Enjoy the bench.

Karl, good luck with the power outages.

How goes the rest of the crew?

It's a bright and dry day, but the week promises rain, rain, rain.  It's 91F and rising.

I spent yesterday working on the stock car.  I had planned on working on the layout, but the flat surform plane didn't rough the foam well enough to hold Sculptamold, etc.  A package from Amazon just arrived with a curved plane, so hope to start work on the layout today.

Have fun,
mike

Good morning everyone.

SLC weather: Sunny, with a high near 96.  :o

Coffee, sodas and OJ are ready.
Pork roll, egg and cheese on an everything bagel for breakfast today.

Karl, quiet weekends are good.

Mike, did you try the curved plane?

Jerry, don't you have to wit till September for the tourists to leave.

Dave, a book would cost at least $100.
Interested?

Ron, it was a messy race.

Larry, hope you enjoyed your rest day.

Rich, that stove looks more than big enough to keep the house nice and toasty all winter.
Beautiful fireplace.

Curt, ACLTom, TomO, Greg, Dale and everyone else looking in, what's new.

Got the van washed and went to the gym.
I'm at the MB dealer and hope they can get me in today.
Also need to go next door to the RV shop to get a couple of very minor things taken care of.

From one of the hikes I did at GTNP.

Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is coffee. Sorry, went out to supper to celebrate oldest grandson's 20th birthday last night. There ended up being 17 people in the group. I'm still comfortably full (but not numb ;) ).

Today I'm washing clothes, then cleaning bathrooms and vacuuming the pool. Another fun day at the homestead. We recieved another 1/2" of rain yesterday but I believe it's supposed to be dry today. We will see. ::) .

Larry I looked at the new kit but honestly I just want the one I ordered to show up.

Rick beautiful scene.

I hope everyone has a good day.
