Good morning everyone.

Hells Canyon weather: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 93.

I see Curt is here and I'll assume he's getting drinks and breakfast ready.

Greg, hope the corporate year end tasks weren't too taxing.

TomO, hope you slept well after the fun but exhausting weekend.

Dale, good to hear from you.
Nice shot of the Big Boy.
When I was in Estes Park, whole herds of elk would roam the streets there.

ACLTom, any news from the shed?

Jerry, was there bench time?

Philip, hope it's a bit cooler and less humid today.

Dave, had to look up tarn lake, but that's exactly what it was.

Karl, it's a shame so many are filled with hate and doing these demonstrations.
I think in the long run they don't change anyone's opinion and more likely alienate people from their cause.

Bernd, enjoy your visit with Rich.

Larry, anything good happen at the bench?

Thank you all for the birthday wishes.
Stopped at a brewery and had a PB&J burger with bacon.
Never had one before.
It was good but probably wouldn't order it again.
Afterward went to Cold Stone for ice cream that I shared with Star.
Then started driving towards Hells Canyon.
Still have a bit more than 100 miles to get there.
I'm parked at a trailhead that was once a RR right of way.
I think we'll do walk of a couple of miles before leaving.

Found out over the weekend that my oldest daughter put a deposit on a new modular home.
It won't be ready to move in till January.
I'm very proud of her.

Another shot of Thompson Peak.

Have a great day everyone.

I'm up early, grabbing a coffee to go.  Eye dr appointment (dilation) first thing, then German class if the appointment doesn't go too long.

When the eyes recover, I might get down to the train room.

ANOTHER great photo, Rick.  The geology student in me wants to go take a closer look at that rock.

Good Morning,

Belated "HAPPY BIRTHDAY RICK!!!!"; may you have many many more. Great photo.

The morning beverages are at your disposal. Breakfast is homemade cinnamon rolls covered in gooey goodness; you'll have your sugar quota for the week.

Dave good luck at the eye Doc.

What's going on today?

It's a sunny 70 with a high of 89 in New York. Errands to run shortly then some 1:1 stuff that needs seeing to; misses orders. Maybe some modeling time later on.

Have a great day!! Be well and stay safe.

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast, whom ever is going to fix it. I don't have the time today.

Pam and I have a few errands and then she wants to go to IHOP for the senior special of two egg cheesy omelette with three pancakes.

Rick, I'll update the caboose thread on the A&S RR thread.

Have a safe, healthy and happy day everyone.

Thanks for opening Rick.
Another wonderful picture this am.

Dave good luck with the eye guy!!  8)

Larry thanks for the coffee & breakfast.
Have fun with the 1:1 stuff.

Tom you and Pam have a nice breakfast out together.

Weather in South Jersey is sunny/80;  Later on 90.
Yesterday was a disaster o knocked over my tray table and the model hit the floor with the table on top of it with the glass I work on.
It looks like it's back to the drawing board I never knew that a building cold crumble so quickly!!  :'(
I salvaged all the tools that were glued to the walls I will try to get it back together.

Everyone have a great day!!  :)

Good morning Crew from a for now very nice morning in So. Central Wisconsin.

Jerry that's tough to see your work disappear in an instant!

The overnight rains we never got, the absolute rain we were to get at 7am was never received but we now have a nice breeze and wispy clouds on a very nice bright sunlit blue background. It's 72 now and low 90's later. Heat advisory because the heat index is supposed to be in the 105 range from noon to 8pm.

The son and girlfriend just left as the SIL is driving them to the airport. He spent about an hour this morning checking routes to Indianapolis to avoid the storms South and East of us. Then about 45 minutes ago he said, I'm flying direct East as everything between Wi and Indiana has broken up. He will file his flight plan and check the plane and they will be in the air by 8:30 instead of the original 9am. This is sort of a regular route for him about every 6 weeks. Thursday he will fly a family of 5 from Austin to Indianapolis. From there he'll either pick up another charter or fly here for the weekend and then go back to Indy to pick up the family on Mondays to take back to Austin.

It is a peaceful quiet here at our place.

I need to contact the pool contractor. They have not been to the daughter's for 10 days. I'm still playing project manager but this pool company seems to be in their own time world. It actually feels like "Island time" it will get done when it's done!

Then go check in on the slot track as the grandson texted last night there were a couple issues with the cars. He is prepping for a race event on track for at least 10 other racers who will attend. The "open class" race is bring your own car. There are 2 other race classes where if the racer has a car they will bring it but if not we will provider one. The issue the track is experiencing is, we lower the voltage (normally 15-18 down to 10) to the track. These slot cars (1/32nd scale)are ridiculous fast, so with less voltage they run more realistic. Some of our cars do not like the lower voltages. That's what I'll play with this morning when the g/s wakes up.

Be well
TomO

Good morning Rick, Dave, Larry, ACLTom, Jerry, TomO and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

I see no one put the coffee on yet so I'll turn on the coffee pot and let it brew.  There is a bag of bagels on the counter with cream cheese and assorted jams in the fridge.

Happy belated birthday Rick.

Larry, take it easy with the 1:1 stuff, hopefully you make it to the bench.

ACLTom, will have to check out the caboose update.

Jerry, I had that happen to me once, I got pretty upset over it.  At least you were able to salvage the detail parts and hopefully the wall can be repaired.

TomO, slot car racing?  That sounds like a fun activity.

It's currently 24C (75f) and partly cloudy here.  Had a great weekend running trains with the Dirty Thirty On30 gang.  Next set-up is at the end of September.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening Rick. Enjoy your walk today. I bet Star loved her ice cream.

Larry thanks for breakfast.

It's already hot as hades here. The feel like high today is supposed to be 108F. I've already completed the outside stuff today. Not much going on this way today but I'll find something to do.

Rick beautiful scene. Does Star have Husky in her? Her eyes remind me of their's.

Jerry that's horrible. I hope you can salvage it. I think something like this has happened to us all.

Tom I hope it was a good breakfast.

TomO I hope you're able to help your g/s.

Rick congrats to your daughter. Owning a home changes your life.

Ron I'm glad you had fun this past weekend.

Dave good luck at the eye doctor.

Larry just tell your wife that you're modeling today!

Hazy bright with fuzzy puff ball clouds on the South bound I-75 in Northern lower Michigan as we head home. It's been a good month at Northern Command. Terribly warm day to go home, headed to near 100 heat index.

Jerry it's amazing how quickly our projects can "re-kit" themselves. Hopefully you can preserve it.

Rick, great about your daughter. My place in the Southern Mich is a modular. Well over built from many 'stick built' structures the timeline doesn't seem to bad, unless you're the one waiting. Contractors up by our place are booking jobs halfway into next summer.

Our grand daughter's aunt she lives with bought a new OBD tool and drove up from Lansing to check the car, cleared the code and they drove it home this morning early. Kid ain't too spoiled. Auntie spoils us pretty good, too.

Been getting a running commentary from my driver about what a miserable POS my jeep is

Well that's it for now.

Good afternoon folks,

Rick, thanks for opening.  Congrats to your daughter for the life-changing purchase.  I'm sure she will love it.

Dave, hope the eye appointment went well.

Larry, thank you for the coffee and breakfast. Hope you made it to the bench.

TomACL, those dates to IHOP are fun for both souls!

Jerry, oh no, that is the pits.  Rebuilding something is not a fun venture, but we've all had to do it, and we survived.  Good luck with #2.

TomO, sounds like you are busy, but having some fun.

Ron, the On30 group sounds like a lot of fun.  I wish we had one near here.

Curt, glad you completed the outside tasks early.  Thanks for the beautiful flower photo.

Karl, nice to have a great Auntie.  My wife would not dare to tell me what a POS my car was, because she knows I'd have a new one that afternoon.  ;)

Philip, your garden looks fantastic. Are those poblanos?

Dale, Yeehaw, sounds like a hoot.

Gregory, hope those year-end tasks went well.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's a warm one today at 96°F and humid.  It's starting to feel like a cold front in Texas.

This morning, I put the decals on the scrap car, tweaked the couplers, and truck bosses.  The crane is next, then it should be finished.  This afternoon, I started painting the layout.  I quit when bending over the layout got to my back.

Sharon is having kidney stone issues again, so I'll be spending more time nursing her this week.

Have fun,
mike
My current build is the Layout scenery and miscellaneous rolling stock .

Good morning everyone.

Hells Canyon weather: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Sunny, with a high near 96.

I See Karl is here too so there may be breakfast choices.

Coffee, sodas and OJ are ready.
Two eggs any way you'd like, crispy bacon and/or sausage links and home fries for breakfast today.

Mike, hope the back feels well enough to do more painting today.
Kidney stones are no fun.
Hope Sharon is doing better today.

Dale, it's a nice shot regardless.

Philip, that's a lot of peppers.

Karl, modular homes do have advantages.

Curt, her left eye is slightly lighter than her right.
Who knows what mix of dogs she is.
But when we're at a dog park, and there is a husky there, she will gravitate to him/her.
Pretty picture of the flowers.

Ron, glad you had a fun weekend.
Pictures?

TomO, slot cars running better now?

Jerry, sorry about the model mishap.
Did you get it glued back together?

ACLTom, where's the one legged waitress work?
IHOP  ;D  8)  ;)

Dave, all good with your eyes?

Greg, how are you?

Jim, welcome home.

I'm on the Oregon side of Hell's Canyon.
Found a great campsite along the Snake River.
There's a trailhead here and we'll do that trail in a little bit.

I had the sliding door to the van open last night.
There's a bug screen that covers the opening and it closes in the middle with magnets.
While I was sleeping Star decided to wander outside.
When I woke up and didn't see I called for her and she did come back pretty quickly.
But when she came it she smelled terrible.
It's not skunk.
Almost smells like diesel.
Maybe she was laying under the van.
I'll have to give her a bath later.
Giving her a bath is never fun because she hates it.

While in Weiser, ID yesterday we walked along the former RR ROW trail there.
Here's a scene from that walk.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Rick. Poor Star having to get a bath! ;D Enjoy your hike today.

Started out the day with a walk with a feel like temp of 86F. I miscounted the number of laps so I actually did a little over 3 miles. I have been doing a little over 2.5. Now I have to do 3 every time I do the walk. :(

Slow day here except this afternoon taking Dad to the airport. It's a local feeder airport so it's not as bad as the main one just a longer drive, about 45 minutes.

Mike I hope Sharon gets relief very soon.

I hope everyone has good day.

Morning Gents,

Rick thanks for the coffee and breakfast. 96...Yikes, stay cool. Poor Star, hope the bath isn't too bad.

Curt enjoy your day. 3 miles is quite the shag; you're a better man than I am.

Jerry sorry to hear about the modeling mishap but it does happen. I remember years ago not thinking I actually sat on a build that I was working by mistake; talk about destroying something....

Mike hope Sharon gets better soon; those things are no joke.

How are the rest of you doing?

It's a sunny 75 going up to 90 in New York; 2 more days of this then we're cooling down for a few days. Then I'll mow the lawn. She bench time yesterday and hopefully more today. That's about it from here.

Have a great day!!! Keep cool, be well, and stay safe.
