Another hot & humid day, not quite as hot as yesterday, and the humidity has been in the "yuk" range, fortunately not reaching "awful".  Cold front coming through tomorrow, so the weekend looks great.

Speaking of 'doggy downers', one of my dogs is at the vet today for dental cleaning and hopefully NO extractions.  He got some doggy downers last night, he tends to be more anxious than the other dog.  But as people with more than one dog know, the remaining dog is unhappy her packmate is missing.

I should get some more time on the machine shop, hopefully do a couple more machine drive shafts.

Cloudy humid and warm in the mid Michigan area.

1:1 stuff will dominate today. The shelf repair took most of my day. The Doll soldiered on with first cutting of thehayfield lawn. 950 at times.

It was announced officially at 0700 today that Union Pacific is buying Norfolk Southern  :o   It will be called Union Pacific. Lots of zeros after the $250 in the Railway Age email I read. I should've kept the 4 shares of UP Preferred I bought in high school. I'd be rich!

Well, the 1:1 is piling up. Time to move along.

Berkshire Hathaway will be under a lot of pressure to buy CSX and merge it with BNSF.  Warren Buffett tends to not like those high pressure situations, so it'll be interesting to see how they handle it.  Arguably, this is a big test for the new Berkshire CEO.

Good morning Larry, Mike, Rick, Curt, Jerry, ACLTom, Dave, Tommy, Karl and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Larry, thanks for the coffee and breakfast Larry, good luck at the dentist.

Mike, don't spend too much at Costco.  ;D

Rick, no modeling last night and safe travels.

Curt, Sounds like a trying day with your dad, good thing you have lots of patience.

Jerry, sounds like the wall rebuild is going well.

ACLTom, sounds like a successful day bowling.

Dave, hope you get to work on the machine shop today.

Tommy, nice to hear from you again, hope the spouses treatments were successful.

Karl, hope the 1:1 stuff isn't too difficult.

Well it's currently 23C (73F) and partly cloudy, it's shaping up to be a great day weather wise.  No modeling last night as other projects are distracting me right now, probably won't get to the layout till the weekend.

Have a great day everyone.

Vet called.  Titus will lose 2 more teeth, the same as Livia earlier this month.  Sigh...  She said "dental problems are common in senior small dogs.  Their jaws don't have the room for all the teeth."

Good Morning,

I see Curt's here so maybe a breakfast smorgasbord. All the morning beverages are ready and waiting. Breakfast is assorted muffins and toppings.

What's your plans for the day.

It's quite a bit cooler @ 62 with a high of 70 in New York; now that's more like it. Of course it's raining but good for the lawns. Have to take Mr.B to the Vet's to see what his issue is; he's taken to drooling the past few weeks and that's not like him. I figure either a bad tooth or a sore throat; both will cause drooling. Then Monday he has his annual checkup, bloodwork, and shots. This afternoon we're going out for an early dinner, a stop at the $1.25 store then Ice cream on the way home; can you say "Bust a gut."
Bench time??

Have a great day!! Be well and stay safe.

Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast all I have is a tall glass of ice cold OJ. Let me explain...

Yesterday I discovered the AC drain line was backing up. It took several attempts to clear it. In the process I figure some water got on the air handler coils. From there it froze causing the AC to run but not cool. I discovered this fact at 9 PM last night when I saw upstairs was 86F with the AC running.

I headed to the garage took the panel off to let the ice melt overnight. Of course that made for a miserable night with little sleep. This morning everything is put back together and cleaned up and running. Now, waiting to see if we cool down or if it's AC repair guy time. Fingers crossed.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning folks,

Larry, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast.  Good luck with Mr. B.  Enjoy the ice cream!

Curt, good luck with the AC repair person.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's another bright morning, with a forecast of 91°F.  Today, our SIL retires from his fire marshal position and steps into a full-time fire marshal role for the National Park Service. We'll spend the afternoon at his retirement ceremony, followed by a party.  I don't see any activity upstairs.

Have fun,
mike

Cloudy with rain starting this afternoon.  Much cooler, high of 75.  The dog who lost 2 (more  >:( ) teeth yesterday is doing much better today.  The problem I have right now is most of his treats are dental chew treats, and he can't eat those until his mouth has healed.  So I have to find soft stuff and break it up for him, and that's not what he's expecting!

Today I should finish the last of the aux shaft assemblies.  Then I'll tack the belts into position (those will be impossible to feed once the assemblies are glued to the structure) and glue the shaft assemblies to the 1st floor ceiling joists.  I've made a few mistakes that annoy me, but at this point I realize only I (or some NMRA inspector) would notice, so it's FIDO  ("Forget It, Drive On", or something like that....)

Overnight rain and cooled off to 60s. It's still humid and unsafe air quality but feels less uncomfortable.

I redid the shelf in the closet and it is looking like it is over loaded again. Scares me.

Doc appt this am after breakfast.

More 1:1 later.  ;)

Be well all.

Morning everyone

Larry thanks for the coffee & breakfast.
Hope Mr. B is alright?

Curt sounds like night was a miserable one.
Hopefully the AC will fix itself.

Mike sounds like a nice day with the SIL and family celebration.

Dave I think you've done enough that no one will notice.

Weather in South Jersey is P. sunny/82 Llater 88 and storms moving through the area so they say.
My room is at 87 so there will be no modeling today.

Everyone have a great day!!  :)
