Good morning everyone.

49 now, clouds and 68 later with a chance of rain this evening.

Coffee, sodas, OJ, hot chocolate and egg nog are ready.
Thick sliced French toast for breakfast today.
Real Michigan maple syrup with sides of bacon and/or sausage are out too.

I'm keeping it short today.
I hope everyone here is feeling well as well as everyone in their family and circle of friends.
The family went to Vegas yesterday and visited the Infinity Museum. https://infinitymuseum.com/visit-us/
Instead of trying to explain what it is, it's easier to click the link I posted and see for yourself.
It was interesting and the kids greatly enjoyed it.
Afterward we went to Canes Chicken for lunch.
It was OK but a place I won't go to again.
Next stop was Dick's where the two older boys wanted to go.
Drove home after that where I retreated to the van and took it easy.
I need to go back to Walmart today for the rest of the things I need for the lasagna I'm making for Christmas.

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Rick, haven't had French Toast in a long time. The infinity Museum looks very interesting and fun.

Happy Belated Birthday to Rich, may you have many more.

Pam and I are going to take a few generic gifts to a local nursing home. Some of the folks there have no families.

I spoke to Bill's wife yesterday. The finally got him in a hospital rehab at 7:30 last night. He was not happy with the delay.

Not much else gong on here.

Have a safe and warm day everyone.

Tom

Good Morning,

Rick thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Sounds like you're a busy guy; enjoy the time with your family. So what's Star want from Santa this year?

Tom that's very kind of you to visit a Nursing Home with gifts for those who have no one else. I'm sure that means more to those folks than you know.

What's your plans for the day.

It's 32 with a high of 36. The white crap is falling once again but only about an inch so far. I managed to survive the grocery shopping yesterday so now I will stay far, far away from any stores until after Christmas. Already mopped the floors, bowed the packages, and the cookies are made. Now it's "feet up" time waiting for Santa. Not sure if the bench is in my sights for today.

Have a great day!!! Be well and watch out for the crazies out there.

Good morning Rick, ACLTom, Larry and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Rick.  Sounds like everyone had a great time yesterday.  lasagna for Christmas is different but sounds really good.

ACLTom, that is a very nice gesture about giving gifts to people in your local nursing home.  As Larry has said, it will mean more to them than you know.

Larry, enjoy your day with your feet up.

Current weather is -6c (21f) and cloudy.  While I stayed home yesterday most of the day was doing chores.  I did manage some bench time and posted an update on my boxcar thread build.  Not sure if I will make it to the bench today as I have to take the Mrs to her Dr's appointment, do the last grocery run before Christmas as I need to pick up a prime rib roast for Christmas and then we are going to dinner with some friends.

Have a great day everyone.

Here most of the snow is gone, but we might get a couple inches today.  It would be nice to have some white on the ground for Christmas.  Our cleaners are here now, so the house should be ready for me to mess it up while cooking Christmas dinner (I got a small rib roast.)  The plan for today, after the cleaners are gone, is to do the corrugated iron roof for the boiler room.  That's the last significant effort for this 8 month long project!

8) Sun and upper 30s going to 40s this morning in Michigan.

Little to report here.  Festivus is amongst US.  :-\

I'm sure some time out in the 1:1 world will be on tap.  :-[

Be well all.

Best wishes to The Judge. Our friend in FL that was hit is going to be alright, eventually, but had a head injury and experiencing head ache and vision issues.

ACLTom,I've been enjoying your line drawings you have been posting.  Thanks!

Philip

Good morning. Thanks for the coffee Rick!

Poof where has this year gone?

I had the displeasure of changing the idle air control on the jeep yesterday. The engineers placed the bottom bolt just perfert to hire a dealer for the service. I had to remove the entire throttle body. Easy but annoying. Fixed.

Gena comes home yesterday from her weight loss club with tons of junk food fudge and peanut brittle... I 'm like Rich, what pie!

I have been 3d printing dynamite boxes and five flavors. Finally finished up last night.

That's it from ny neck of the woods.

Larry sounds like you have everything under control.

Ron saw your update grat work!

Morning Dave.

Karl glad your friend is on the mend.

Philip how does one lose weight with all that junk food??

Weather in South Jersey is cloudy/37.
Yesterday was part two of the fiasco with the neighbor but he did stay at the hospital this time.
But talk about crazies and loonies you need to drive the GSD in rush hour here!!

Well with the "SILLY SEASON" ending down.  I have one more chore to do.
Go to the liquor store for some wine and bourbon for gifts for the kids.
At least I know why the people are there for!!  :)

My bench has cobwebs growing on it!!  :(

Everyone have a great day!!  :)

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Rick.

Last night was a bear starting about 0130 with itching issues. :-* Yesterday I was shocked at the VA. I checked in at sick call and went back immediately to a treatment room and saw the doc within 15 minutes! He prescribed the normal meds I use for this. Basically steroids and antihistamines. I probably have another 2-3 days for this to run it's course if it's like previous episodes. Dad's eye prescription did not change.

The pewter black came in last night so I will redo the metal castings today. Next up on the kit is building the crane mechanism but I'm not up for it today mentally..

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning Crew from a warming So. Central Wisconsin. It looks like except for the plows snow piles a white Christmas will not happen this year. Daily highs in the 40's and sunny is getting rid of everything else.

I need to figure out the present I'm not supposed to be buying Terry for Christmas and go get it. I fell for the don't buy me anything a few years ago and was given a present anyways. Never again!

The son, daughter, grandson and a few of his friends started building a slot car track for the son to haul back to Austin. Put the framework together Sunday afternoon. Put down the 3/4" birch on the frames Sunday first for sizing and then cut the birch (cookie style) to fit where the framework joins. Later we added glue and biscuits for joining. We glued the track and screwed it down on Monday. The biscuits will allow for joining back the pieces without glue. It's like joining the leafs of the dining room table to expand the table. The grandson and friends got pretty good at adding the clamping devices for each joint. 3 slots wide track itself is 12" across to handle 1/32 scale cars. Everything was glued and screwed to the framework, lots of clamps and hopefully ready after 48 hours to route the slots tomorrow. We have a few separate test pieces and if the glue has not cured enough we will route after dinner on Christmas Day as he is leaving the 26th. I have plenty of bits but routing through tacky glue is a mess to clean the bits. With 2 routers the son and daughter can handle the routers. It should go quickly as both are very familiar with routers. I will supervise and there are 3 clean up people. The grandson, his neighbor friend and her granddad will be here to help. Yes his granddaughter is getting a small track in February for her birthday but she is unaware.

I stopped at the LHS yesterday for styrene and structural pieces from Evergreen Scale Models. The owner is bringing his niece to the races next Tuesday and Thursday at the grandson's track. Owner is very happy as most of his slot car equipment has sold and says it's because of the uptick in racers since the grandson and his crew's started the monthly slot car races in August. He's been very supportive and that has helped.

Enjoy the day
TomO
