Slept way to long.  Fog outside and ~500 with sun after the burn off. Humid.

I decide I need a spacer for the zero setting on my 3d machine and no source for one at this point.  I'll conjure up something.

The Doll came home with $80 "worth" of Goo(s) of some sort(s) and has an appointment later in the month for a repair job on the hair.

Little else to add.  I need breakfast....

Good morning Curt, Larry, ACLTom, Mike, Rick, TomO, Karl and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfasts Curt and Larry, quite the spread this morning.

Curt, sounds like a very productive day at the bench yesterday.

Larry, nothing wrong with a lazy day, enjoy it.

ACLTom, looking forward to the latest videos.

Mike, enjoy the game today,

Rick, it's to soon to be seeing photo's with the white stuff in in, even if it looks pretty.  ;D

TomO, enjoy the hockey game.

Well it's currently 12c (54f) and sunny so it's another great day.  Managed to install the first section of the backdrop yesterday.  With the sharp curve at the corner, it required some bracing to hold everything in place till the glue set.  If all goes well I'll get the rest of it installed today.  But first I have some chores to do and a dog to walk.

Have a great day everyone.

Neighbor's daughter and son both still play hockey (they're in their late '20s/early '30s.)  Daughter in particular played for NCAA champ team, and is known for her ability to score on anyone...  Daughter and father are supposed to run in a marathon at the end of the month (if he's feeling OK, he has a sprain he's nursing.)  The things you learn about your neighbors at Scotch Club...

I'm trying to find the Grandt Line barrels I know I have -somewhere-.  So far no luck, but I found some other stuff I didn't know I had.  Yesterday I prepped some Fine Scale models half-barrels.  I'm still looking for the 'box of boxes' I have somewhere from a Downtown Deco order.  I'm surprised in general that there aren't more 'pieces of freight' castings (plaster, styrene, resin, etc) available.  All this to populate the storage room in the machine shop.  But I'll take a break from searching and start work on the 2nd story lighting.  That should be easier than the machine shop first floor lighting.

Good Afternoon Folks;

Finally have a chance to check in and begin to catch up. I have been finishing up detailing a couple )of structures for NMRA evaluation. I went to the Sunshine Region NMRA convention this year, first time I have been to a regional since the first one I ever went to in 2018. I commuted since it was just up the road in Ocala but if I ever do it again I will stay overnight. By end of each day I was tired. I entered the structures for evaluation as I am working to get my AP- Structures (merit badge?). They both passed and won awards which really surprised me but also made me feel good knowing the program is doing what it is supposed to do, help me become better at modeling.

Today was a recovering day and hope to watch the Bucs football game shortly. This week I hope to get serious working on the layout. Time to get some trains moving around the room. I need to have two more structures evaluated to meet the AP Structure requirement so I will be thinking on what next for that as well. Perhaps a rolling bridge to cross the canal scene. Well have a great day. Here are photos of the two structures. The Flour Mill won overall as well as the President's award which was way cool.

Yeah, when I finally found my box of boxes, some of the Sierra West pieces were in there.  They're older resin castings, rather than the current 3D printed stuff.  I've primed a bunch of barrels, boxes, etc, and started playing with the layout.  I probably need more clutter :-)

Another thing I dug out was a Mine Mount pipe/lumber rack kit.  I cut it so it's flat in the back, and I'll put that against one set of windows with a bunch of small rods, etc, painted black.  I'll also do a "pipe barrel" with pieces of rod & pipe sticking out of the barrel, and put that on the machine shop floor.

Good Morning,

The morning beverages are ready and breakfast will be flapjacks, Vermont Maple Syrup, your choice of either crisp bacon and/or pan sausages.

Jim congrats on the awards; that is some very nice modeling.

What's on your plate today?

It's almost 0700 and it's still dark out, ugh. It's a rainy 51 with a high of 58 in the Empire State. Grocery shopping shortly well 'cause I like to eat. Taking a break from modeling for a bit and am getting back into my Trainz program on the 'puter; still learning that one.

Have a great day!! Be well.

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Larry. Hopefully the chores/errands don't take too long.

Slept poorly last night and have no appetite this morning, so coffee it is. The problem was I took a nap yesterday because I couldn't keep my eyes open, and that normally means a poor night time sleep.

Yesterday, I got the 4 pattern shop walls together, glued in the braces and view block. After that I started on the roof. For some reason I could not understand what the instructions said to do. I must of read them a dozen times >:(. But then the lightbulb finally went off and I understood. ???

Today I have laundry and several chores, so I may not make it to the workbench. :(

I'm sorry I missed the SBG on Saturday. If I had known everyone was there I would of came.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the US NAVY on their 250th birthday.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning folks,

Larry, thanks for opening, coffee, and flapjacks!  They make movies about life in the virtual world, so it must be fun.

Curt, congrats on the four-wall completion.  Good luck with the chores.

Karl, wishing you a fantastic day at Any's. Hi to the gang for me.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's another bright and rainless day at 51F, but rising to 79F later. Yesterday completed a completely horrible weekend on the gridiron.

Yesterday I finished distressing and staining the wood for the oil derrick.  While at it, I distressed the stock car deck boards. I don't have plans for the day, maybe a little of this and that.  Laser wood arrived yesterday, so I may cut the Post Office.

Have fun,
mike
My current build is the Masonic Lodge and miscellaneous rolling stock .

Good morning. We are heading to a wet 70f degrees today. The rain will be sporadic but not heavy!

The grandson's team gave up 7 goals in the 2nd half yesterday to lose 0-7. The daughter said it was not pretty!

The Badger Women hockey team completely dominated yesterday's game against #4 Minnesota Duluth, 4-0. The Badgers had 57 shots on goal and Duluth only 17

I figure just a couple more hours and the Swing Bridge I am building for a friend will be done. I will start the weathering Tuesday

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Larry, much appreciated.

Curt, it was a surprise to me when Bob and Greg showed. You are welcome any time. SBG or not.

Phins lost!

I had an O'Dark 30 Dermatologist visit this morning. He froze some spots and took a biopsy on another. Looks like another surgical visit is in my future. Same ole same ole stuff.

I did a 9 minutes video from the Saturday train running but it won't upload to YouTube. So, I'll redo it and try again.

Have a safe and healthy day everyone.

Tom
