It's hazy bright with temp in the 60s after quite a weather day yesterday. It's quite unstable feeling and humid.

Weather yesterday was tragic in the S and SW part of our state. 3 folks were killed at Union City which my maps app says is 45 miles away. One a bit farther West. While everyone was watching a bright red/yellow line of strong weather  rogue pop up storm spawned the tornado(s) that did lots of damage. Several folks posted some dramatic videos of it. Screen grab of video from the area it killed the 3 folks.
IMG_3291.jpeg

Closer to home that line of storms was full of rain and there was major flash flooding on some of the roads.

Right here we had rain, wind and lightning with just a blip of the power, made it very dark in the layout area. So I discontinued my work. Maybe back at it today.

Some places around gasoline is within  of a dollar more per gallon than last weekend.

Layout construction is expected to continue today.

Be safe all.

Was asked about going North. It looks like that will not be soon. Medical, dental, optical stuff coming up.

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Rick. Pretty sky in the photo. I'm glad it's you and not me going to Costco on a Sunday. Here will be wall to wall people.

It's in the 60's heading to the 80's for another day. Yesterday I never made it to the workbench taking a day off to clear my head. Today after chores I'll head back to it. MOH will be back this evening then I'll have more chores to do.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning,

Rick thanks for the coffee, breakfast, and another beautiful photo. I figured someone would ask. A Funko Pop is a figure about 4 inches tall, think a cartoonish look, of movie & TV stars that come in a box with a cellophane front. The collectable side is leaving the figure in the box and displaying.

Karl glad you're safe and no damage; scary stuff!

Jerry bench time on your to do list?

How's everyone else doing.

It's a rainy 46 with a high of 50. Yesterday it got up to 65 and that really did some damage to the sn*w....yippee!! Hopefully some bench time later. Assembling Daughters bookcase went well AFTER I figured out how to tighten the screws.

Have a great day!! Be well and stay safe.

Good morning Rick, Curt, Jerry, Larry and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Rick, have fun at the zoo (Costco).  Haven't watched the race yet, but will when I'm done here.

Curt, enjoy your quiet day and have fun at the bench,

Jerry, seeing as you have the day to yourself, will you make it to the bench?  ;D

Larry, thanks for the description of what Funko Pop is, as I was wondering. Hope you make it to the bench later.

Current weather is 3c (37f) with bright blue skies, the driveway is back to blacktop and the piles are shrinking.  Like Curt, I didn't make it to the bench as I got distracted doing other things and the Mrs had other ideas.  Todays plan in to watch the race, get groceries and then hopefully, spend some time at the bench.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning folks,

Rick, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast. Nice photo of the sunset.

Curt, hope you make it to the bench.  Head clearing is a good thing.

Jerry, enjoy the day.

Larry, glad the temperatures warmed.

Ron, good luck getting to the bench.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's a rainy morning at 61°F, headed to 79°F.  It will rain all day, I think.  This afternoon, I hope to continue painting details.  I am down to a few figures (but need to select more for the station workers). I don't know how many folks use a wet pallet, but it makes painting a lot of details and figures a lot easier.  The paint doesn't dry up between details.

Have fun,
mike

8) Early sun has hidden behind the clouds, it's down in the 30s today after 65o mid afternoon yesterday so with rain, heavy at times. High winds forecast for the day here.

Today is my personal favorite of the year. Daylight time sets my world straight.

I worked 3 hours or so on the layout. The Doll made slow cook chicken soup.

Photos and video from the storms area are amazing. Reading between the lines of the news reports they still may have folks unaccounted for. So far 4 folks have been confirmed as losing their lives.

My older son sent photos from the Upper Peninsula where he's been snowmobiling on "feet of snow" IMG_6103.jpeg

I guess he's been doing that all winter closer to home. He was at Grand Marias on Lake Superior one of the high level lake effect snow areas. I used to go to Canada, NE of the Soo with father in law and his buddies all Buick brass from Flint. I was a bit intimidated by them, mostly all the wrong reasons. Father in law was a neat guy, Silver Star from one of the Airborne units in WWII.He was Superintendent of the Buick Axle plant. Now a big brownfield site full of weeds. GM raped Flint when they killed off Buick and all its suppliers and a big Chevy plant. They do still build trucks out on the edge of the city. Much of the city resembles Tehran.

Here I drink a toast to life with a bottle of "India Pale Ale". Was 1978, long hair and beard while I was on the Narc Squad. Was about bald by then, 29yrs old.

No plans yet. Hoops at 4:30, last regular season game. In Ann Arbor, it will be a challenge. M has a great team.

March Madness is here!

Be well all, stay safe.

Rick has shown photos from the Sedona, AZ area.  I thought I'd chime in:

It stayed well above freezing last night, and the snowpack is definitely reduced.  They're predicting 68 for Tuesday, before returning to more seasonal March temperatures.  After breakfast (brunch), I'll head down and do something in the train room.

Morning crew. Was down in the shop yesterday in the morning working at (playing  ;) ) CNCing out more quarry car sides. A couple more sheets of .020" thick sheet brass to go to get 50 cars.

More time being spent in the shop today.

I think we need a "What's on My Workbench" section. What do you think?

Have a great day everybody.
