Morning Gents,

Curt thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Hope your new couches arrive on time. Sorry didn't mean to cause you more work.

What's on your plate for the day.

It's a cloudy 29 with a high of 44. Starting Saturday it's going to be in the mid to upper 60's for about 5 days.....yippee....melt baby melt. Have an apt next Monday to get our taxes looked at so I need to go to Best Buy later this am and get a new black ink cartridge so I can print my W-4's and maybe looked around a little. Not sure about the bench.

Have a great day!! Be well, heal up, and stay safe.

Good morning folks,

Curt, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast. Good luck with the couch delivery.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's a hazy morning at 53°F, headed to 80°F.  A plumber comes sometime today, but I hope to spend quality time upstairs.  I've been detailing the top of the caprock area near the depot. Hopefully, I'll get a lot of detail parts painted today.  The clear resin arrived, so I hope to print lamps and lanterns.

Have fun,
mike

Rick

Good morning everyone.

Currently 57 in Lake Havasu City, sunny and 70 later.

Curt, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
Hope the skunks like hiding under the new sofas.

ACLTom, hope you are mending well and pain free.

Karl, thanks for the detailed report on the new soldering iron.

Jerry, glad you are making bench progress.

Ron, I'm also not a Windows lover.

Jim, welcome back.

Dave, I'm happy your wife was able to get an appointment.

Philip, have fun painting your new figures.

Mike, anything new upstairs?

Larry, nice progress on your diorama.

Hope everyone else is well.

Good news bad news yesterday.
Good news, I qualify for the procedure.
Bad news, the hospital doesn't have the equipment yet to do it and will take a few weeks to arrive.

In the mean time I head a bit further south to LHC.
Today is laundry day and then I'll continue a bit further south towards the next planned hike.

Another photo from my Sedona hike.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning, all. The NH seacoast is headed for 35F with sun through a high overcast, but that won't last. Another storm tonight, mixed rain, sleet and snow. They guess 4" to clear Friday AM. My taxes await one late 1099 and, probably, a check.  I need to finish a set of meeting minutes and get to work on, at a minimum, my clinic subject for the 14th.  More demands may arrive at any time...

Well, Rick, there are worse places to be in March than central Arizona.

Today's photo is from Cordoba, Spain.  There's a contest for courtyard gardens every year:
CordobaCourtyard.jpg

I dropped an itsy-bitsy part from the boxcar.  Despite having cleaned the floor before I started and searching, I can't find it.  So I'll do a substitute from the Tichy boxcar parts sprue.  I'm still pondering the next steps in farm scenery.

Rain and fog and temps in 40s this morning.  Dreary.  It's a great day, NOT, to head to town, but...the Doll has a dental appointment she's not excited about. Some 60s in the forecast the next few days at times.  :o Rx to pick up while in the area, too.

Spent about 3 hours with plaster cloth yesterday working on the layout terra forming around the trestle site.
IMG_3276.jpeg

The little red marks on the track base show approximately where the bents will go.
I need to keep at it as the weather improves and suggestions of things needing to occur in 1:1 increase.  It was chilly working with water in the basement.  Sculptamold next, then ground cover. All before I build the trestle.

Little else to add to the mix this morning.

Rick...patient times, hard to come by I'm sure..

Be Well

Morning crew, Was locked out earlier.

Today & I'll be casting some stuff.

Nice soldering iron and trestle work Karl!

I got a few of the figures cleaned/deburred & prepped in primer. I'll let them cure for a few days before paint.

Good morning Curt, Larry, Mike, Rick, James, Dave, Karl and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Curt, glad you got the roofs done.

Larry, hope the tax preparation goes well.

Mike, Have fun painting the detail parts.
Rick, laundry day, sounds like fun.  ;D ;D  Glad you qualify for the procedure.

James, sounds as you have busy days ahead.

Dave, I don't think I've ever built a rolling stock kit where I haven't lost a small part.

Karl, thanks for the soldering pen review, looks like a winner.  You are making great progress on the trestle, it's looking great.

Philip, those figures look great.

Jerry, I can't wait for this weekend.  ;D Let the F1 season begin.

Tom, hope you are recovering well.

TomO, hope you are going well.

Current temperature is a balmy -2c (28f) and sunny.  Rain expected this weekend, getting rid of the white stuff.  Was tired last night but did make it to the bench.  I started by cutting the rafters for the roof that goes between rigging shed and outer wall.  When I was going to glue the rafters in place I found that the wall spacing required as per the instructions vs the rafter length there was a spacing difference.  :o  At that point I decided to call it a night.  I'll correct the problem tonight, or this weekend.

Have a great day everyone.

Karl, what I did for my trestle was cut styrene strips the same width and length of the bottom sills on my trestle bents.  I coated them with Vasolene.  I placed those (leveling them) on the scenic base.  Then I did the rest of the scenery up against those styrene strips.  When that was done, I carefully removed the styrene.  In one case, the plug was still stuck, so I drilled a hole, screwed a 2-56 screw, and used that to remove the plug.  Then I just set the bridge bents into the hole left by the plugs. That worked really well for me.

Philip, those figures look great!  What scale are they?

Hope the couches are approved by the skunks!

Larry glad to hear it's melting.

Mike have fun painting those details.

Beautiful picture Rick.
I hope they get the equipment soon.

James I hope you get all that done on time.

Nice picture Dave thanks for sharing.

Karl nice progress!  Starting to look really good.

Philip looking forward to you painting those figures.

Ron I'm ready it should be really something different this year!

Weather in South Jersey is cloudy/44.  Later on more of the same.
With the weather like this I may get some extra bench time in today.

Everyone have a wonderful day!!  :)

Good Morning,

The morning beverages are set to go. Breakfast is Belgium waffles, fresh fruit, butter, and maple syrup along with sides of crispy bacon and/or pan sausages.

What's on your agenda.

It's a cloudy 36 with a high of 47. The sn*w is melting slowly which is a good thing since there are areas around here that are prone to flooding. Have the usual Friday errands to run shortly. Have to wrestle with the SS site and try to get my W4 for taxes Monday....ugh; they've made it sooo hard to sign into your account. Maybe some bench time to sooth my nerves.

Have a great day!! Be well.

PRR Modeler

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Larry. Good luck with SS today.

Starting out in the 60's and heading to the mid 80's later. Not a real restful sleep last night. One of the animals kept getting into things and making noise. Speaking of, MOH and daughter are headed to the Strawberry Festival this afternoon for a 2 day rescue event. They'll be back Sunday evening.

Today I have to call my VA primary care team to reschedule my annual (was 3/27). This is my first time with a new doctor, not a great start.

Tom you're almost there with your elevated leg ;D

Rick I hope you don't have pain while waiting.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning everyone.

It's 51 now in Parker, sunny and 68 later.

Larry, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
Good news on the melting and good luck with the SS website.

Jerry and Ron, I agree about this year being very interesting due to all the new rules and changes and a new team too.
I watched FP2 highlights this morning.
Other than a lot cars running wide off the track I didn't see any surprises as to who was fast.

Philip, how's the casting going?

Karl, looks like you've got a good handle on where to place the bents and terra forming.

Dave, did you eventually find the part?

James, you are definitely staying busy.

How's the rest of the crew?

After doing my laundry I headed further south in AZ.
First time in this part of the state and I was impressed with the mountains and scenery.
After I finish posting and having my coffee I'll pack up and go to the trailhead for today's hike.
This one will be challenging.

From my hike in Sedona.

It snowed a bit last night, maybe 3"  Wife is not feeling well.  She'll hang out in the train room (there's a full size couch and the newly repaired bathroom) while the cleaners are here.  I went to an interesting geology talk yesterday about using cell phone technology for geologic mapping.  There's another talk today, this one is a PhD proposal presentation on sea level rise.  So not much work in the train room for me today.
