TomO, I've had some questions about the athletic program at my son's private HS. Pushing the kids hard in practice and competition, many more injuries and different kinds of injuries than I remember from the 1970s.  Kind of horrifying to hear of a football player dislocating his shoulder, trainers on the bench putting it back (everyone in the stadium heard the kid), then back in the game for 4th quarter.

Good evening everyone,

Another great day running trains and working on models.

Good morning everyone.

Right now in Harriman, TN it's 26, sunny and 37 later.

Coffee, sodas, OJ and hot chocolate are ready.
A bag of assorted bagels on the counter.
Butter, cream cheese and lox are there too.
Toaster is plugged in if you like your bagel toasted.

Ron, that's a great looking layout.
Thanks for the pictures.

Marty, nice video of the shay that runs slow and smooth.
See you in a few hours.

TomO, 80 games sure sounds like too much.

James, did your list of layout to-do's get finished?

Jerry, is the other half done?

Mike, nice job on the retaining wall.

Karl, cookies!!!

Dave, how's the bridge coming along?

ACLTom, very glad you're felling better.

Larry, more progress on the couch repair?

Curt, how's the weathering coming along.

Hope everyone is doing well.

After hearing about Waffle House I made my first and last visit there.
Food was OK except the eggs were a bit greasy.
There are other places I'd choose to go to for breakfast.
Costco was visited and because my space is limited I can't buy too much so it's not an expensive trip.
Also hit the gym yesterday for a shower.
Today's plan is to drive 1 1/2 hrs. to the home of Marty Jones (labdad) for a visit.

This was taken back in October and it's Mt. Hood.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning,

Rick thanks for the coffee and breakfast; you're up early. Safe travels and enjoy your visit with Marty. If his work looks that good in photos I can only can imagine the treat you're in for seeing his work in person. The couch repair is going well and maybe we'll finish it Saturday depending on the weather.

Ron great looking modular setup and love the group name.

What's your plans for the day.

It's 19 with a high of 26 here. Grocery shopping this am then my 6 month checkup at the Docs this afternoon. Maybe some time at the bench before hand. That's about it from here.

Have a great day!! Be well, keep warm, and travel safely.

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Rick. I occasionally go to WH (when traveling) but all I get is the waffle. MOH likes the biscuits and gravy. Safe travels.

Starting out here at 41F with a feel like of 36F, so no freeze to die from if you listened to the warnings of the weather guessers. Yesterday I did chores, honey-do's and dropped books off at the library.

Today MOH has an oil change. Later this week will be a trip to Ft. Lauderdale and Dad has a GI appointment at the VA
Thursday afternoon. Fun times.

Larry good luck at the doc's today.

Ron that is an impressive layout.

Tom I hope you continue to improve.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Rick.

Very slowly getting back my health, cough is still here but less each day.

Taking Emee to the vet for nail clipping. I can do it but Pam prefers the vet.

We are going to try to go out to eat late this afternoon. We've been in the house for the past two+ weeks.

Have a safe and healthy day everyone.

Good morning folks,

Rick, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast. Safe travels today, and wishing you an enjoyable visit with Marty.

Larry, good luck at the doctor visit.

Curt, glad you didn't die from the cold front.  Good luck with the oil change.

TomACL, good to hear you are better enough to venture out.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's a bright morning at 28F, but warming to 48F.  I have an EGD follow-up appointment this afternoon. Not sure about the workbench today.

Have fun,
mike

Yes it is, sad but true and maybe 4 or 5 play in high school. But these parents have expectations.

Morning everyone

Rick thanks for the coffee & breakfast.
Say hi to MJ for me.

I'm making this short this morning.
We have to go back to North Jersey today!!!!
Hopefully the drive will be a good one.

Maybe some bench time much later tonight.
I never did get there yesterday.

Everyone have a wonderful day!!  :)

The garage door guy has come and gone.  Fortunately the track was OK, he just rebent the bracket and reinstalled the track and the door.  He says they oil the parts with plain old motor oil. "No WD-40/no aerosols!"  And this was cheap, $147 for about 40 minutes work.  NO complaints.

Now that's done, I'll head to the basement for some time on the exercise machine and a run to the grocery store.  We got another couple inches of fluffy snow last night, I asked the plow guy to come early today to make sure the driveway was clear for the garage door truck.  Then back to the farm bridge.  This weekend at Springfield I'll look for farmhouse and barn kits for the other side of the bridge.

James, lost my 1st response.

That is so sad to read but High School sports is a big money maker for the school districts here.

Parents here have expectations their player is going to school on a full ride and make money with NIL. Name, Image, Likeness is killing sport in Wisconsin High Schools and big time in College. We had a local student sue the WIAA which is the ruling athletic body in Wisconsin High School sports and win. But his suit wasn't settled until he was a junior in college. Now high schoolers not just athletes can do NIL. Our local school does it but with open enrollment for schools the better players, band members and even debaters are transferring to a school whose program offers them the best visibility but also a free ride with possibilities of good earnings

Good morning Rick, Larry, Curt, ACLTom, Mike, TomO, Jerry, Dave and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Rick, enjoy your visit with Marty.

Going to keep it short today, as I have a busy day at work lined up.

Current weather is -9c (16f) and sunny, a nice winter day.  I spent last night unloading the car and putting the stuff I brought to the set-up away.  I did manage to find time to paint the boxcars between running trains so that is a plus.  Next step for the boxcars is the decal them.

Have a great day everyone.
