Good morning from So. Central Wisconsin.  It's -6f degrees and -28 wind chill. So Rick stay south of the Mason Dixon line as you head out West.

I watched maybe 5 minutes total between the 2 playoff games. No interest and I grew up in Chicagoland and was a personal not business season ticket holder with the Bears for years

With today being MLK day the schools are closed here. The grandson, then his mom texted asking if I could supervise a few slot car racers this afternoon starting at 1. I said yes, originally 8 kids now 16 but I'll have 2 helper grandparents along. Plus these kids have been excellent in past race sessions.

I'll spend maybe an hour at the bench this morning just getting reorganized. Not sure which direction to turn to, so maybe a reshuffle will help my thoughts

Be well

8) Bright sun at the moment after 2-3 inches of snow overnight.  Temp is 11-12o that is the high for the day, with wind.  Big COLD is setting in for the next 2 weeks it seems, with today being the last warm day. A fair breeze, in the teens just adds to the joyous time.

Did little yesterday, the visitors helped me eat all the cookies.  Son in Law helped the Doll with some computer issues.  I felt a bit punk most of the day.

We did watch and enjoy the Rams-Bears on TV last night.

Today, test bridge assembly, decals(?) and who knows..

Be well all.

Good afternoon, all. The lower Merrimack Valley is above freezing with occasional floods of sunlight as clouds pass. The tops of my orchard trees (which I couldn't reach earlier) are shedding snow on their own.

Rick, none of my layout projects got finished, but several show visible progress; much better than I managed for most of 2025.

TomO, you've mentioned NIL before, but AFAICT, that isn't enough of an incentive to change much in this area.  The private HSes seem to be pushing their students because sports achievements draw donations and parents of 8th graders seeking prestige.

Good morning everyone.

It's 15 in Dunlap, TN now, sunny and 35 later.
Brrrrr.

Coffee, sodas, OJ and hot chocolate are ready.
Omelette station with all the fixings is set up.

James, hope you get the time to work on those projects this year.

Karl, how'd the bridge test go?

TomO, did all the racers behave themselves?

Ron, hope work is less busy today.

Dave, good news on the garage door.

Jerry, hope the trip north was uneventful.

Mike, hope the EGD follow up was all good news.

ACLTom, hope you were able to get out of the house and have a good time.

Curt, any bench news and did you order a new kit?

Rich, hope you recovering well.

Larry, I do get up early, but I also go the bed early and get 7 to 8 hours of sleep a night.

I keep going south with hopes of warmer climes, but it's just not happening.
Had a fantastic time with Marty, Denise and Katlyn.
Denise made a delicious lunch, then an excellent dinner followed by homemade pound cake.
I wish I could have eaten more but my stomach issues limit how much I eat.
Was nice meeting the dogs too, Lyliah and Beethoven.
It was Lyliah's 1'st birthday yesterday.
I'll stop back into the house in a bit and have breakfast and say goodbye.
Then Star and I will do a hike that's nearby.

Marty and me sharing some Tennessee whiskey.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Rick. Yesterday sounded like a fun time. Great photo. I do have a kit selected from SW. It's Brett's first one the Blue Sky Freight House. Terry is selling me his but between our two schedules we haven't met up yet. :-\

Starting out the day here at 39F and a feel like of 35F. Too darn cold for me to do my walk. After it warms up above 40F and the sun is up I'll do it. I didn't accomplish much yesterday.

Today I need to replace the batteries (2) in my DCS-200 command station. The oil change at Wally World did not go well for MOH. After about an hour she was told they didn't have the tool to do it, then listed it as a customer cancelation. :o She stopped at a quicky place and was told it wasn't needed!

Well that's enough blabbing for now.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning,

Rick thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Nice photo and Tenn. whiskey will get your blood pumping. Enjoy your hike and travel safely.

Curt sounds like the oil change was a nightmare and glad it wasn't needed. Sounds a little chilly down in Florida. we're going in the negative digits by weeks end.

What's on your agenda for today.

It's 13 with a high of only 17 today. Taking Ellie for a blood draw this morning then some phone calls about car/home insurance along with a few others. Maybe some bench time later on.

Have a great day!! Be well, stay warm, and safe travels.

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Rick. The hot chocolate will work for me this morning. Glad you had a good visit with Marty and family. Enjoy the hike.

Pam and I had a good time out yesterday. We went to a restaurant for dinner and their heat was out. We started to leave and the manager set us up with a tower heater. That was fun as we were the only ones in the place with a heater. I guess they wanted our business.

We also have bowling today. First time in three weeks we've been able to go due to being sick. Hope I don't fall on my face! 8)

Didn't get to the bench yesterday but plan on doing an update later this afternoon.

Have a safe and warm day everyone.

Darn cold in MI.  :o  Haven't left the house.  We had several deer sleeping under the pine trees overnight.  40 at first peek this morning.  :P  The lake effect has been brutal along the lakeshore but for the most part fizzled out before reaching us.  Huge crash on the Interstate just SW of Grd Rapids,  :o

My bridge project worked out fine. ;)  Pix in a bit when I get back to my iphone. IMG_3112.jpeg I also did one side of the now Southern Rwy Sleeping Car, old CHAMP decals went on with no issue.  Flip side today. Then some clearcoat to blend it all together.

Little new here, otherwise.

KarlS, chillin' on the SouthCentralMiddleWestLowerPlainsofMichigan  :( Glad we had a fill of "profane" on the 12th. :)

Good to see the Purple Gang out on the town!  Hope bowling goes well. :D

It's 'winter postcard' here right now.  There's snow on the ground, snow stuck to the tops of the tree branches, and a bright blue sky.  It's a bit chilly, but it'll be colder this weekend.  (That includes Springfield MA, weather for the big show will be single digits both days.)  The dogs are at the groomers, so the house is unnaturally quiet.

I'm making slow progress on the farm bridge, and I'll look for farmhouse/barn kits at Springfield.

Good morning crew!
A chilly 7° here.

The better half has an MRI this am.
Have a great day!

Good morning,

Rick, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast. Hope you find some warmer weather.

Curt, that's weird about the oil change.

Larry, good luck with the insurance calls.

TomACL, I hope the lanes treat you well.  Glad you feel like bowling.

Karl, I'm looking forward to photos of the bridge and the car.

Dave, good luck with your barn quest.

Philip, now that's cold.  Reminds me of Fort Knox days, so so long ago.

How goes the rest of the crew?

It's a bright morning and cold at 27°F.  It's not warming much later.  I hope to get to the workbench today.

Have fun,
mike

Jerry

Morning everyone

Rick thanks for the coffee & breakfast.
Sorry I missed the bourbon.
Great picture of you two.

Curt that's a great kit build.

Larry don't spend all your money on insurance.

Tom glad you and Pam feeling better.

Karl hell of a crash.
Nice looking bridge.

Morning Dave.

Philip hope your wife's MRI goes as planned.

Mike I hope you get to the bench.

Weather in South Jersey is sunny/19.  Later on 22.
The drive up and back to North Jersey wasn't to bad yesterrday.
But we got home later than expected.
And I was tired.
Today we have a home day.

Everyone have a great day!!  :)

I'm 25 minutes west of Fort Knox Mike. Hwy 60.

Her MRI went well. It was a breast MRI with IV contrast. Hopefully normal.

Rick

Good morning everyone.

Gadsden, AL weather: 28 now, mix of sun and clouds and 55 later.

Coffee, sodas, OJ and hot chocolate are ready.
With all the cold weather a big pot of steaming hot oatmeal sounds good this morning.
Assorted nuts, fresh fruits and spices are available to mix in.

Philip, I would of loved to visit with you but with the bad weather moving in and the need to get to Birmingham prevented that this time.
Hope your wife's MRI went well.

Jerry, hope you enjoyed your home day.

Mike, hope your weather is warming and you had some bench time.

Dave, how often do the dogs go to the groomers?

Karl, I saw video of that crash and wasn't sure if it was AI or real.
Hope no one was seriously hurt.
Bridge looks good.

ACLTom, hope you bowled well.

Larry, hope you got a good price for the insurance.

Curt, strange story about the oil change.
Walmart wouldn't be my first choice for an oil change in any case.

How's the rest of the crew today?

One thing I didn't mention yesterday was Marty gave me a tour of his house and shop.
Besides being an outstanding modeler he is also a first class furniture maker.
His house is filled with things that he's made.
His wood shop would be the envy of many wood workers.
And as good as his models look in pictures here, they look even better in person.

Didn't go hiking yesterday.
With the threat of some bad weather moving in I decided it would be better to head south and hope to dodge that mess.
It will be a pretty nice day today and Star and I will do a hike today.

This was on a hike at did in California at Sierra Butte.
