Good morning, all. Thin high haze over the Merrimack Valley but otherwise weather as Dave's.  Tom, I don't know what it would do to the warranty, but at the Trolley Museum we put battery knife switches on all modern vehicles.  Too many parasitic loads to sit idle for more than a few days.  Rick, I don't recall that statue but it's been a decade since I passed through Winslow.

This weekend's plans don't leave much time for modeling: watching the kid and his SO wrestle at her school this afternoon, then dinner. Tomorrow prune the orchard and burn a few years' accumulated brush before taking her back to her school.

Weather in South Jersey is sunny/46.  Later 51.
At least the white stuff is melting slowly.
I started staining wood yesterday but didn't get very far as other things had to be done.
Hopefully some bench time later.

Sitting in the crew lounge waiting for my switch job in about one hour"fast" hour.  OPS has a full crew this morning.

Sun at wake-up this morning, sub freezing headed to mid 30s. Some snow late in the day or overnight, nothing to fret about.

Was going to work on the bridge/trestle but ended up going with the Doll.   Folks been bragging up Sparty's hockey team so watch them last night, not the team I expected. The Ohio crew kicked them badly.  :o Did not finish it.

Have a good day all.

Jerry,

Pam inherited her mother's 401 account so that was the difference. We still made out, so to speak. We had IRS withhold 25% and still got stung.

No problem Jerry. I ordered 3 sets, Hope they are as good as the hype!. Some of the other figure sellers have some really proud pricing. Actually all of them 2d printed or otherwise.

The afternoon activity was removing a dead apple tree with a 2 cycle chainsaw. I'm spent..........4 wheel barrels full. This golden year stuff ain't easy!

Good Morning All,

Breakfast today is coffee, cereal, bagels, yogurt, OJ, and soda.

Started out the day with a walk at 58F and heading to 78F. Yesterday at the workbench I made and attached roof flashing and rafter tails. After that was the farmer's market that was beyond packed, and finally we bought 2 new couches which will be delivered Thursday.

Today I will finish the rafter tails and we have the vacationing skunk to pick up.

That's about all happening around here.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning,

Curt thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Farmer's Markets are fun to go to but not when they're packed. Hope the skunk enjoys its vacation.

Tom gotta keep your better half happy.

What's your plans for the day.

It's a sunny 20 with a high of 29 and we received another inch of white crap. Yesterday it was 52 and the hopes of an early Spring were high. Have yet another 1:1 project installing a new window shade to replace a blind. Not sure about the bench though.

Have a great day!! Be well and stay warm.

Good morning folks,

Curt, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast.  Good luck with the rafter tails.

Philip, congrats on the tree removal. Sounds exhausting.

Karl, the ops session sounds like fun. Better luck to your Sparty's next time.

Jerry, we saw Crime 101.  It was pretty good. Good luck staining wood.

Tom, glad the tax prep is over.

James, good luck with the orchard haircut.

Rick, terrific photo of Star and you.  You've made all of us hear the Eagles sing...

Dave, have fun selecting your next build.

Larry, congrats on the project completion.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's a sunny morning at 41°F, headed to 78°F later today.  We enjoyed the movie yesterday.  I didn't make it upstairs, but spent the day hanging out with Sharon.  I hope to make it upstairs this afternoon to work on the layout scenery.

Have fun,
mike

Good morning everyone.

37 right now in Saint Johns, sunny and 76 later.

Curt, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
Was the new couches a surprise purchase to you?
Taking that picture is the only reason to go to Winslow.

Mike, glad you enjoyed the movie and spending time with Sharon.

Larry, hope the s#$% falling and the 1:1 projects end soon.

ACLTom, hope you bowl well.

Philip, hope you're not too sore today.

Karl, glad the ops was fun.

Jerry, maybe more wood was stained yesterday.

James, I'm not sure when they added the statue.

Dave, nice shot of the university.

How's everyone else?

I had an excellent day at the Petrified Forest NP.
Someone told me a couple of years ago it wasn't worth visiting, but I couldn't disagree more.
I did the three planned hikes which totaled just under 8 miles.
Beautiful scenery and I was very surprised by how much petrified wood there was everywhere.
It's very tempting to put a small piece in your pocket but that's against the law and also brings bad luck.
The park has received many letters containing wood because of all the bad luck that happened after taking it home.
I was able to get a night sky pass that allowed me to stay in the park after closing to take sunset pictures.

Not exactly sure what I'll do today but I'll talk more about that tomorrow.

A phone picture from one of the hikes yesterday.

The Doll arose before I did this morning, as did the sun 8)

IMG_3812.jpeg

We have an inch of new snow and about 15o with  8) sunglasses a necessary part of the wardrobe.

OPS was a good time as usual. I had a nice time with an industrial area switching job then a pair of over the road jobs from one of the big yards to the end of line staging areas. Wrapping up as the end of session hit. We had a full crew of over a dozen including a fellow from St. Charles, Illinois.

Plans today are still in flux. I hear we have a grand coming over soon.

Bench time and hoops?, we'll see.  :D

Have a good day all.

Be well.
