The railroad boarding house in Clay Center.


Several company houses and the boarding house along the tracks in Clay Center. These were owned by The Rock Island.

Now you need a bar and maybe a barbershop and/or pool hall.

The Ledbetters would be in hog heaven to live in one of them houses, but might kick the boys
out to live in the boarding house, and would definitely would need a bar/pool hall close by!!

Finally did some work on the layout, some grass and started buildinga RSLaserkits watertank.

More work on the trestles.



The hexagonal roof , I used leftovers from the bands to use as battens.

great progress on your layout. Those buildings in the town are very nice. That watertanks seems to be a very fine kit to build.

Looking closely at the photos, I didn't see much grass. Were you smoking it or isn't it growing real well?

Looks great Jan. Lots of development. That water tower is especially interesting. Thumbs up!

So this is what happened next, I gave the whole structure a wash of A & I and then glued on the tank, and put a weight on it to hold down the tank. But because of the A&I the glue of all the trestles weakened , so this is how I found the structure the next day.




So what to do , build the trestles again using the jigs or try to repair the trestles, I chose the latter.



And this is how it looks like after 2 days of repairing and patiently waiting.
