Thanks for following along - we have a long ways to go to complete our tour. I'm also making plans to go back and photograph the F& SM again to fill in some of the structures I missed and get better pictures of some that didn't turn out.

As we move into Colbert Yard here are a few overview pictures.

From this angle there are three structures that standout in the yard; the Coal Tower, the bridge across the yard, and the ice house - loading dock.

John Sullivan took this one from the Roundhouse end of the yard.

Let's start with some detail pictures of the Ice House and Loading Dock - this was one of George's FSM kits.  I had the glass in the way for this one.

Since we visited the coaling tower on page 2 of this thread as a featured structure I will bump the pictures here for completeness.

This week I chose the Coaling Tower in Colbert Yard as the featured structure.  George told me yesterday that this structure started from a prototype picture of a coaling tower in upstate New York.  Model Railroader Magazine did a feature article on this structure a few years back. For those that remember this yard as the Fellsburg yard George changed the name to honor his good friend. Here is an overview photograph.  Please add your pictures of this great structure to the thread.

Once again thank you very much John, I hope to one day be able to see the FS&M with my own eyes , but your photo's are at the least a great compromise.

I hope you can find a way to see the F&SM with your own eyes. Photographs do not tell the whole story. I'm glad you are enjoying the photographs.
