The NESM tenement kit is based on the ones from Earl Smallshaws layout.

As we pass the tenements we come to Kuttroff, Pickhardt & Co., Dye Stuffs, Colors and Chemicals.

And an overview of this area from John Sullivan

Directly behind the Kuttroff Building is the R. W. Herrmann Painting Materials building.

John,
Thanks for adding more great FSM photos tonight ! Always great to check this thread in the late evening.
I believe the only one that was offered as a FSM kit at one time in today's photos is the main building of the Barnstead Lumber # 195 kit that George renamed to the R. W. Herrmann Painting Materials building. It matches the photos on the front of that kit box.

I'm glad you are enjoying the thread.  I believe you are correct that Hermann's is the main building from the Barnstead Lumber kit.

I have some great news for this thread.  Over the past few days Mark Dalrymple has been sending me the pictures he took of the F&SM when he visited in April of this year. Mark took some great photographs that will be added to this thread.  He made it a point to get some better shots of the structures in the background of Franklin that turned out fussy from the digital zoom that I was using to isolate the individual structures.  I will be adding these pictures over the coming weeks and also will be adding Mark's pictures from the rest of the layout as we come to each structure on our journey around the layout.  Please join me in thanking Mark for his contributions to this thread.

The next structure closer to the tracks is Ashby Coffee.  In most of the pictures you see of the F&SM it is hiding behind the yard tower.
