Good SOLAR day in Michigan.  Bright sun. Going to ~80 a good possibility.

Off this morning for OPS at Keeney's

friscomike

Good morning folks,

Larry, thanks for opening and breakfast. Good luck with the lawn work.

James, good luck with the outside work.

Curt, get well soon.  The flu sounds rough.

How are the rest of the crew?

It's a warm and hazy morning.  I didn't make it upstairs yesterday.  Supper with our Daughter was nice last night. No plans for the day, just a long to-do list to work from.

Have fun,
mike

ACL1504

Morning all,

Today is the first day since Monday I've felt anything close to being "pain free". The sutures in my scalp are arranged in such a manner that certain facial expressions or just opening my mouth to eat, stretches the skin and sutures. This in turn causes severe stinging of the surgical site and thus the pain.

Yesterday, I called the doctor and asked how long this will occur. He said it should be getting much less painful in the next couple of days. He said skin cancer on the scalp was fast growing and had no where to go, so it spread out under the skin. He had to cut to t he bone to get it all. It won't grow into bone so it spread out under the skin. That is why he had to cut out so much to get it all.

Don't mean to be all doom and gloom here but I've gotten a few PM's asking what is going on.

I'll have more to report on the PET/CT scan later next week.

Curt. sorry you are down with the flu and hope you get well very soon.

I hope and pray all the rest of you geezers are doing well and healthy.

The Judge and I are having lunch today and will discuss when he may be able to return to running trains. The girls will go shopping while we have lunch.

Be well my friends and stay safe. Enjoy everyday you have.

Good to hear from Tom, even if it's just a "still hurts" update.  Best to The Judge, too.

I'm still pondering what to do about the LED light color mis-match.  But what I should do is go out and dump some fertilizer on the lawn while it's still cool outside.

Good morning,

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh wow you hit my nerve about solar.....
You should see the 10 mile solar mess on KY HWY 79 that was once a farmers cash cow and a beautiful stretch. They put up the red neck version on that road. Weeds waist high and they lied about no till. The form framing and mount workmanship looks like work of a nine year old. Was once corn and hay fields.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All good now!

Get well Curt and Tom! Sucks being sick!

I don't know Judge but hope the pep talks works.

Mike long to-do = upstairs ;D

Good morning everyone,

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Larry, The grandson mowed the larn yesterday, so I don't have to do it. 😊, have fun at the bench.

Rick, enjoy your hike.

James, hope the trip to the airport goes well and you get some modeling done today.

Karl, enjoy the ops session today.

Mike, I love the to-do lists I get.  :o  Hope it is all easy stuff and it goes well.

Tom, hope you get pain relief soon.  Hope the Judge gets back to running trains soon.

Dave, hope you get the LED light colour mismatch sorted out soon.

Philip, have a great day.

Curt, hope that flu leaves real soon.

Current temperature is 21c (70f) and sunny.  I'm not going into the Solar energy debate but I'm pro-solar if used in the right way.  Not a huge fan of solar farms as I feel that can be done much better, but really like them used for homes.

No modeling last night as I ended up watching the first round of the NHL drafts.  Today's plan is to take Gracie for a walk, before it gets to hot, watch the F1 qualifying and maybe some work at the bench.

Have a great day everyone.

I'm a bit over 8,000' in the mountains outside of Boulder.

Star and I did a beautiful 5.5 miles and 1,800' of climbing this morning.

ACLTOM and Curt, hope you both feel much better soon.

Hope everyone else is well too.

Maybe I'll be able to post in the morning too.

Good Morning,

The morning beverages are all set to go. Breakfast this morning is waffles, butter, Maple syrup, or fresh homegrown strawberries; your choice. Also crispy bacon and/or pan sausages.

What's your plans?

It's another sunny 66 with a high of 83 before we go into the muggy 90's in a few days; guess the A/C will get a workout. Some bench time shortly and maybe an update later.

Have a great day!! Be well and stay safe.

A Northern Command trek  ::) is plan and prep today and travel penciled in for tomorrow.  Try to avoid some of the DOUBLE HEAT DOME :o  coming for many this next week.

Mowing, packing and all that fun stuff today. ::)

TomO/Tloc

Good Sunday morning.

Best to you Tom. I hope that pain dissipates more everyday. Curt Flu anytime sucks, get well.

I am awake after a double OPS Session yesterday. It's over and while we had glitches it was fun, a better success that we had anticipated and reaffirms my belief in mankind. The guys were super under standing that in actuality Saturday was the 2 shake down sessions we never got to.  1st session there was 1 curmudgeon but that was his fault nothing to do with the layout. In the afternoon session there was 1 complainer had a couple things to say about the staging yard. The guy he attended with said not to mind him he has to find something at every session! I had lost my filter by then and told the "good friend" sounds like a tough friendship for u if you have to defend him every session. He smiled and said yep!

The owner was close to a full melt down when the 4 of us arrived at 6:45 for the 1st session. But let us do our jobs and as a retired railroader he had the operators waiting for trains in snitches with his stories in the very last minute and miraculously cleaned lounge. We had guys to the 2 sessions from Connecticut, Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa and California. 14 in each session.

I am tired as after the last session we also were invited 30 minutes further north for dinner at another layout and when most left the 2 owners of the layouts and the 6 of the 7 helpers for the 2 layouts stayed on and had a good time out around the fire pit. I give the operators a A-, the helpers a A+ the layout a C++ with lots of work to to do but 3 ofbthe 4 helpers, we are done for at least a month before we head back with the tools!

Have a great day
TomO

TomO glad you had a fun day at the OPS yesterday.

Weather in South Jersey is cloudy/76.  Later 78.
One wall done three to go.
Hopefully I'll start on one today later on.

Everyone have a great day!!  :)
