Current weather is 18c (65f), partly cloudy with no rain in the forecast for a change. 

So, I have an open house to prepare for coming up in mid October and there is a 12"dia hole in the yard at Mara where a turntable used to be.  I need to rectify that before the open house.  I have on my shelves a turntable kit that my gave me for my birthday a few years ago but due to my past work travel schedule haven't had a chance to build yet.  So last night, I took it off the shelf, dusted it off and opened the lid.  I even started a build thread.

Good morning from a nice day in Wisconsin. We should top out around 75f degrees this afternoon.

No real scheduled plans. The ears were lowered at 9am and Terry is going at 11 and her hair maybe very short upon returning. She has been complaining the last month the hair is too long.

I am waiting for the Thermacells I ordered to test out in mosquito heaven. Amazon says today which really  means tomorrow. The big River is getting as bad as our Postal Service has become

Unit I purchased was lettered for the CNJ, in a shade of Green that is extremely close to my home road, Kentucky Southern, so I removed the yellow CNJ logos and replaced them with my logo.  Fairly easy job as the only CNJ markings were on the cab side no where else.  Easier than strip to bare and repaint, something I like less and less.



Road # is going to be removed and replaced by KYSO Grand Central numbers, number boards to remain 2403

Coffee is on and for breakfast today we have Pancakes with real Quebec maple syrup with sides of bacon, sausage links, hash browns and home made baked beans.  THere are sofr drinks on the end od the counter for those who prefer them over coffee.

Current weather here is 14c (57f) and sunshine.

Not much to report here but I did get a little more work done on the turntable build.  I think it is going to be a slow build as there will be a lot of time waiting for glue to dry.  Got to take Gracie to the vet this morning as she is due for her allergy shot.  After that the day should be mine.

It's another overcast day with rain forecast for the next 10 days.  Yesterday I worked in the garage, reorganizing and optimizing the placement of stuff.  I still have another couple of hours to finish, then start polishing the Z.  Nothing to report from upstairs.

Another nice day in the neighborhood yesterday. Mid 70's and calm. Today the app says 80 and calm. We need rain

I am granddog watching while the kids are gone. Brewer has a radio collar and a good 2 acres with shade to run around in till he's content. The IPadPro does connect out there under the trees so I am  ok with being out there.

Terry mentioned going out for a fish fry tonight.

Maybe sometime at the bench today when I'm not outside in the shade

James, they still use buses to bring people back to CO.
Or, you can take the bus in NM to CO and then your car will be there for you when you get to Chama.

How's everyone else.

Yesterday's hike was tough and the weather wasn't the best.
Hiked the Decalibron Trail.
It's a loop trail that has 4 14'ers on it.
It was cold, temps in the 40's to low 50's with wind in the 30 to 40 mph range.
Also we were in the clouds most of the time and there were no views.
First 14'er was Bross and the climb up was very steep.
The next two Lincoln and Cameron were a bit easier because most of the elevation was gained on that first climb.
Lost some elevation getting to the last one, Democrat, saw how steep and high it was and decided to head back to the van because I was already feeling tired.
Also, it had started to rain and wasn't sure there's be some thunder and lightning too.
Hike totals: 9.2 miles 3,333' of elevation gain.
As soon as we, Star was with me, got back to the van the rain stopped, the sun came out and the sky was blue with pretty clouds.
Gym this morning then taking it easy rest day.

This was at Great Sand Dunes NP and gives a small idea o how tall the dunes are.

Good Morning Everyone;

Rick that sounds like more than a hike! Impressive. Phillip I am going to check that guys site out, very interesting. While Rick was climbing Mount Everest I was attempting to take a walk around the neighborhood. Alexa said it was 78 but felt like it was 95 and I thought no way. Yep way, she was right. Very sweaty.

So today I need to start gathering stuff for our trip to Chattanooga TN for the NMRA convention. I have never gone to it so should be interesting. I was hoping to get the current building project done in time so I could have it judged for merit but as usual I am taking three times as long to finish it as I expected. No matter I just wanted to say I had a model judged at the national convention.

Well high will be 97 here today so I think I will do most of my work inside today. Hope everyone has a great day.

  Sunny and pleasant in the mid Michigan area.  I got my decal project done, a visitor derailed my intent to flat coat the area I worked on, It can wait a day or so. 

1:1 projects start the day off here.  It appears the Doll has a full set of plans for the weekend.

It's a sunny 70, was 50 @5:30 am, with a high of 83. Lots of errands already this morning then had to sanitize a stinky garbage can since it resides on the back porch. Not sure about the rest of the day however.
