Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Rick. Looks like Star is happy at home, keeping an eye on the neighborhood.

No lasting damage to the shed. The carpet tiles are all dry now and I'm still using the dehumidifier to dry the indoor/outdoor under carpet. The damp smell is almost gone as well.

Our lunch with Cindy and Bill was very nice. We spent two hours at the restaurant talking rehab, BSing and his visit back to the layout. We will meet for lunch on June 27 to discuss a plan.

Time to edge and cut the grass.

Have a safe and happy day everyone.

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Rick. I'm glad Star is settling in. Back when we closed on our current house (1995) we actually were given a check for $1500 at closing!

Started out the day with a walk at 76F with high humidity. Forecast same as Mike.
Yesterday before Dad's trip I looked through the kit pieces/parts. I'm a bit apprehensive about the diorama base since I'll be using new techniques making it. I do tend to be a worrier. I think it goes along with my OCD.

Today I have an errand but that will be later and I'll be going through the instructions closer figuring out what I have left to order. I think it will be mainly base related.

Rick I think I have most of what I need. I have some chalk and little people in transit.

Mike Uggh DCC and electrical. :o

Larry I'm glad FL doesn't have vehicle inspections. As far as I'm concerned it's just another tax payer rip off.

Tom hope Bill is doing OK and hope the train shed is drying out. I see your post scratch my post to you.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Big NASTY weather again last evening, even chased me to the basement.  We had some of the most dire sounding warnings but all the damaging stuff passed us by, it did rain considerably.  Had a jet pass over before the storm hit us that I determined from Flight Aware was a Delta flight from Atlanta to Grand Rapids,
IMG_3681.jpeg

I watched the track head North then after some racetrack patterns the destination changed to DTW and it was rerouted to Detroit Metro.  The weather at GRR at that time was NASTY, would hate to be trying to land in that.  Reroute to DTW would be a major PITA to the pax, for sure.

There were more power outages S and W of us as well in this area but we were saved. The rail cam at the Elkhart, IN depot is out at this time.

Off today to chat with my hearing guy.  It's clear and cooler today.

Jerry

Morning everyone

Star looks like she's lived there all her life.
Thanks for the coffee & breakfast.
Nice pictures.

Larry glad to hear the cars are home now.

Mike that tank car came out perfect.

Tom glad to hear the visit with Bill & Cindy was a nice day out.
Glad there was no lasting damage to the shed.

Curt stop worry you'll be just fine.

Karl glad your safe from the storms.

Weather in South Jersey sunny/83.  Later on 95.
Humidity is 81%.
A good reason I can't be in my room!!!
Maybe later tonight if it cools down a bit.
Plus we have Diane's daughter coming down later in the day.
And a granddaughter tomorrow.

Everyone have a great day!!  :)

Good morning everyone,

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Rick, looks like Star has already moved in.

Current weather is 25c (77f) with some clouds overhead.  Working from home today so there is no commute.  ;D  I did make it to the bench last night and wended up working on on of the industrial building for my N-scale modules.  Might continue working on it tonight.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning all.

Good to see your settling in Rick! Nice pics.

The cold front came through about 6am this morning. Howling winds and rain followed by a welcomed cooling.

Have a great week-end!

Rick, glad Star has found a place in the new house.  That's important!   Tom, thanks for the update on The Judge.  Karl, once I flew from Louisville to Nashville on a 12 seat Twin Otter commuter plane, through a tornado front.  I must have read the emergency procedures card 20 times.  Luckily, no one lost dinner on that flight.  I was comforted by seeing the pilots before the flight eating their dinner, so I knew it wasn't going to be too bad..

Hot and humid, Florida here in SE NH.  Ugh!  I'm still fiddling with readers after the cataract surgery.

Good morning everyone.

59 now, mostly sunny and 74 later.

Coffee, sodas and OJ are ready.
Breakfast pizza this morning topped with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, peppers and onions.

Dave, hope the fiddling ends soon.

Philip, you're always cool regardless of the weather.

Ron, enjoy another day at the bench.

Jerry, and before you know it, it will be too cold to work in your room.

Karl, I'm sure the passengers were sweating and praying on that flight.

Curt, you should be able to tackle the kit with no problem.

ACLTom, any BS'ing in the shed today?

Mike, electrical is my least favorite part of the hobby.

Larry, good news on the cars.

TomO, all well in WI?

How's everyone else?

Hiked 4.2 miles with Star at the Good Earth Park.
Went to Walmart to buy more stuff for the house that I forgot to buy the last time.
Got home and realized that I still managed to forget a few more things I need.
Got set up at the library.
Need to pull more things out of the van today that will stay here at the house.
My neighbor across the street has a mower she doesn't use any longer and I'm waiting for her to tell me how much she wants.
Lawn needs to be mowed a week ago.

The farm next to me.

Good Morning All,

Currently 78F heading into the 100's with the feel like temps for the next 6 days. I definitely felt it yesterday. Yesterday I reread the instructions closer then headed out to get stuff for the build. I think now I either have or have on order everything I need for the build.

Today after chores I plan on figuring out the NWSL True Sander. Up to this point I've had mixed results, but there are a  LOT of platform/decking legs in this build so consistency will be important. MOH and her BFF are off to IA today getting there late Sunday.

Rick as a homeowner the shopping is never done, but shopping lists really help me.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning folks,

Rick, thanks for the coffee and breakfast pizza.  Nice photo of the farm.  That's a big silo!

Curt, you'll like the true sander.  I put different grits of sandpaper on each side of the block.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's 74°F, headed to 92°F with high humidity.  Ugh!  Yesterday I read a book instead of working on the layout wiring.  I just couldn't get motivated.  Today I meet up to transfer a Z3 windscreen to a new home. I sure miss that car.

Have fun,
mike

8) Bright sun and mid 60s with a forecast of a nice day until late afternoon then some more stormy weather.  ::)

Yesterday a very little was accomplished but relaxing in the cooler, less humid weather was nice.

Nice area, Rick, rural/semi rural areas are pleasant.

Enjoy the day all.

Larry C

Good Morning,

Rick thanks for the coffee and breakfast. I usually write a list before going shopping so I don't get the "stank eye" from Ellie if I forget something. Nice farm and hope you get a good price on the mower.

Curt good luck with the sander; practice makes perfect or so they say.

Mike careful in the heat and hope your modeling mojo returns soon.

Karl enjoy the cooler temps.

What's your plans for the day?

It'a a bright and sunny 68 with a high of 74. The humidity has left the building; thankfully. An errand to run this am then this afternoon the grass needs to be mowed and yard trimmed. It was so hot and dry I didn't bother last week. Maybe some bench time to continue work on a small shed.

Have a great and safe day!!! Be well and watch the heat.

Morning crew!

Thanks for the coffee !

On the subject of sanding my daughter had a manual disk sander for picture framing she sold for dirt cheap at a yard sale. I was looking for a similar one recently and can't seem to locate any. It was a plastic job and yellow in color similar to the ultimation sander at an entry level price. Thanks for the info on the true sander. For now I'll just use my trusty nail file.

I started cutting all the full studs and staining 2x6 last night for the blacksmith project.

97% humidity today...yeah I'm cool! The garden awaits!

Have a great Sat!

Morning all,

Ah, my sixth Saturday this week. Everyday is Saturday except Sunday.

Rick, thanks for breakfast. Nice view of the next door farm. As Curt said, a list is most helpful. And, then I still forget to put stuff on the list. No BSing in the shed today, I'm on the down side though of getting it all back together. The dehumidifier is still pulling moisture out. I should be good tomorrow to get back to the train shed activities and modeling.

Curt, did you find the Pink Panther Foamular?

Mike, when in school, I hated to read. Now I read at least three books a month.

I edged and cut the grass yesterday and the heat was brutal. I drank three bottles of Gatorade, two waters and took five ten minute breaks. After, I was still exhausted from the heat and humidity.

Pam has a few errands she wants me to go with her. The shed is still drying out so I have nothing else to do.

Have a safe, cool and happy Saturday everyone.

Good morning, all. It's sunny in the western Adirondack Park, 60s now and maybe 80F later. But by then we'll be much lower and farther east.

Adirondack Railway seems to have bought into the same web presentation as Conway Scenic: you have to pick one of their offerings before they tell you dates it's available. So i think there'll be trains passing Mt. Arab after we leave, but not sure when, or whether there will be an empty equipment move before or after. :(
