Morning all,

Cloudy and 83 degrees later with a chance of rain, which we could use.

Two backdrops put up yesterday, we'll see what today brings.  The neighbor kid's graduation party is later this afternoon, hope there's food.

Managed to resize some Narrow Gauge Convention pictures yesterday.  I found this dry creek bed interesting.  I'm sure that's not my finger at the upper left.

Good morning, Jeff and late-rising crew members. I slept later than usual this morning; no hurry because I could hear the storm outside. It rained off and on all night, with gusty winds NWS says could reach 45 MPH. Not enough to be an issue down in the valley, but my 2nd wife is no doubt feeling it up on top of the hill.  Plenty to do indoors today, though, including lighting a stove to offset the forecast high of 51F.

Good morning All!

Severe clear here in the northern mitten today, with temp now at 55, headed for 69 and the ritual fire danger warnings posted all over everywhere due to lack of rain and expected winds....

Apparently cracked a few ribs a couple of weeks ago when I tripped on something invisible on a wall-to-wall carpet in the store, so no lifting for awhile.  Sale of the building went well, though, so now I need to deal with a raft of gummint forms about which I knew nothing....

Make it a great day, All, and stay safe!

very sunny bright 8) only 50o and 10-15 mile wind.

Saw the new "star wars" derivative last night. 49 years this week, May 25, 1977, the real one with capitalized letters came out. I think I'd rather have seen it. Well, the popcorn was good and fresh.

Some home chores to do then dinner out? We'll see. Home tomorrow.

I wish you a speedy recovery, Pete.  Not sure the forms will help, but bureaucracy is generally felt to be preferable to force of arms...

Pete, always good to hear from you.  Taping the ribs will help, along with painkillers.  Not much else to do for cracked ribs.

NMRA Magazine arrived yesterday, there was a long letter critical of NMRA direction.  Full credit to the editors for publishing that.  I agreed with many of the criticisms, and thought Gordy's response was, shall we say, "understated."

Speaking of controversies, I'm in a tussle with my university.  I'm willing to make a substantial donation, but there are some significant conditions attached.  I'm having problems getting the administration to respond to me.  Basically, I'm asking them to fully document something that's supposed to be the path for alumni to comment on/provide input to academics.  My favorite professor, still there after -50 years-, agreed with my characterization of this activity as "loosey-goosey."  Things will likely come to a head next week, where they agree to a meeting with the appropriate decision-makers, or tell me to bugger off.  :'(

Definitely wet here, but hopefully clearing as promised by 4:00 for neighborhood Scotch Club.  In the meantime, I'll continue cleaning the basement.  There's a big pile of now soaking wet cardboard boxes, etc, set out for the recycling pickup.  I should have thrown some plastic over that pile last night, I did think about that at some point, then forgot to do it.

Morning all,

Not much on the agenda today. We'll visit our favorite Mexican restaurant tonight. Aside from a Margherita I'm not sure what I'll order.

Pondering the next project though I'm not to anxious to get started given we'll be gone for a couple of weeks soon.

Have a great one!
