I used the brass tubes to position the wires over the hole behind the scenery photo backdrop. I then fished the wires through the hole.

I fed the wires through a large brass tube which was inserted into the scenery base.

These wires were screwed to the back of the speaker per the instructions.

The other end of the wires were run up along the inside of the 1X3s and soldered to the LEDs.

The activator button was attached to a thin section of Masonite which is also located under the lagoon. The black button is the T&L activator and the three toggles are for the bascule bridge marker lights and the lights at the Smokehouse BBQ.

The track is a programming track.

I made sure all worked and then replaced the scenery.

Sweet!  That Thunder and Lightning effect looks great in that area of the layout.  The video is super.   8)

Bob,

Thanks for the compliment. The thunder and lightning was all along intended for the lagoon area. I appreciate you checking in.

I have a quick update on the third level over the second level island. I did finish the first 8 feet of this level.

Also, with the larger photo format, I'm gong to try John S's method of one photo per post. The larger photos do take longer to load.  But honestly, I think one photo per post takes longer as well. We'll see.

I built the third level center section in place. That is I first added the north/south long horizontal boards and then added the east/west braces.

I started by screwing two 3X10's to the top of the third level. I added the 3/8" steel bars for support at this time.

I then drilled holes in the center braces for the buss wires and then pulled the buss wires.

I then added the LEDs down the middle as I did on the rest of the layout.

The benchwork is level but the camera makes it look otherwise.

For me it is absolutely critical that it all be level.

Well, after cropping the two photos, I can see some of the new work I've done. I'm getting ahead of myself on the thread. I'll show the two photos tomorrow afternoon after I update the thread. Then I'll be up to date. 8) 8)

Sorry bout dat! ;D ;D :-X

The Diet Pepsi is good and cold though.

Trust your instruments - the camera and sometimes our eyes can miss lead us. I took some photographs of the inside of my Locomotive Works, yesterday.  The pictures make it look like the track is kinked inside the second bay.  I put a ruler on it today and it is dead straight.
