Reading Modular was at Springfield/Amherst over the weekend. They came home yesterday (I was forced to miss The Big Show) and we're now prepping for Timonium this weekend. Guess what! Same weather forecast currently for Timonium as for Springfield.

A nippy 8 degrees in suburban Philly this morning. It took an extra hour to crawl out from between the bedclothes this morning.
For those of you traveling to Amherst/Springfield, enjoy yourselves and try to leave the notorious Springfield Crud behind when you depart.
Waiting to see what the Weather Experts have on tap for us this weekend. Early guesses are that we will return to New England conditions without ever leaving our house.
Stay warm, all.

This morning, 440, and falling. Rain and wind and various precipitation forms guessed at. The area N/S Xway is closed in both directions due to broken power poles :o

Enjoy the time off, Jeff.

Dat's it....KarlS

Karl,
I think I failed your Rohrshock test.   ;)

At 12:56 PM on New Years Day, I'm happy to report from a chilly Reading country that I haven't violated ONE of my New Years Resolutions, yet.
Could that be because I didn't make any?
Quoting one of my favorite move lines, Merry New Year!

Good football weekend!
Iggles are in, Pat's are in. Dallas (as usual) and KC are out.
Final prep for the Big Day Thursday, preceded by our son-in-law's Christmas Eve Feast of the Seven Fishes. 65+/- mostly Italian family members gathering to celebrate the festivities. The show highlight is the singing of The Twelve Days of Christmas after consuming a LOT of Christmas Spirits. Twelve small groups gathered randomly each take a day to sing. If, on the way up the list or coming down the list, any group misses its cue, the whole song starts over at the beginning. I recall this taking four or five tries to get everything right.
Get those packages wrapped!

All these little "A's". "B's". "X's" and arrows remind me of the Scrabble box when you first open it and see those tiny tiles staring up at you.
Perhaps the finished product will result in a Triple Word score. :o

Seven inches of snow Saturday night! We didn't get that much all season last year. Is this a precursor of things to come? A balmy 23 degrees in Reading country this morning. Gotta' spend time today wrapping up preparations for the Big Guy's visit next week.
Please take it easy on the egg nog: it's fattening you know.

16 degrees in Penn's Woods this morning. Can't wait for winter to arrive.
These temperatures are running up our bird seed bills. How can these little creatures consume so much seed?
After last week's Reading Modular attendance at the Pennsylvania Christmas Show, we're down and prepping for Amherst. Actually, Amherst is held in West Springfield, MA. For those of you who have never attended, the event hosts 20,000 + ferroquinologists over three days in late January.
Be there or be square.

Quote from: Zephyrus52246 on November 28, 2025, 07:33:19 AMMorning all,

Eighteen degrees and we'll barely break freezing for the high.  They're predicting nine inches of snow to start late tonight and basically snow all day tomorrow.  I hope the neighbor has the plow for his truck mounted and ready to go.  Hopefully the workers finish today so they can remove the dumpster and the leftover materials from my driveway so I can get both vehicles in the garage before the snow starts.

Will see if I can figure out why the FT B&C units don't move.  The sounds works, but they just sit there.  They are consisted with an F3 unit that runs fine.  It can't drag two dead units very well.

Jeff
Doctor Jeff,
I recently bought a new, in the box Stewart A-B set. Working with Michael at Yankee Dabbler for DCC-sound parts, he said to check the powered trucks in the set and clean them prior to use. Even with NIB's lubricant can dry out and seize the gearsets depending on how long the lube has been in there.
Hope this helps.

My Saturday is almost complete now.
Almost, as it's shower night.

Quote from: jbvb on November 05, 2025, 10:40:24 AMGood morning, all. NH seacoast is "overcast but I can tell where the sun is" and about 50F. Rain forecast for tonight and the weekend.  Already straightened out some electrical things for my roofer.  First 110 VAC compressor I've seen rated for 1.8 HP and 14 amps, of course it doesn't like voltage drop.  Next chore this morning is figuring out why the lock on my chest freezer won't open.  Then continue getting a head start on annual donations.

You've been hacked!

Tom,
You certainly seem to manage your retirement time better than I do! Thanks for the time and effort you put into this site.
My lone trepidation is given the posts to other sites and their ultimate demise, I am typing my post with fingers crossed. Third time charmed?

Still muggy in anthracite land this morning.
Long list of "stuff" on the TDL (To-Do List), but I WILL make time for the basement today for more than the install of a new dehumidifier.
Keep smiling!
