I'm working on the Suwannee River Basin on the layout. There will be several back water structures in this area. Carolina Craftsman Kits Lucama Fish Camp #1 will be in the river basin. This will also be my first challenge build for the forum.

Jaime,

Not painting the fence. I believe Donato was referring to the Karate Kid movie and the Master had him waxing the cars. The fence did come later but the was up and down.

I bought this kit from Groovy Jeff in Scranton at the Expo. I needed to check the size to see if it would fit where I had in mind for it to fit.

Well, it does fit that spot but I need four more and this kit is no longer on the CCK site. No problem, I'm going to scratch build the other four.

Here is where three of them will go. This is the north side of the Suwannee River Basin.

The other two will go on the other side of the bascule bridge. One on the north side and the other on the south.

Those of you that have followed my build threads in the past know I always like to make sure the windows and doors fit in the laser cut openings prior to any painting/staining.

As you see, all fits fine.

I started making copies of the original walls.

I'd like to share a little tip on drawing/copying multiple wall sections. I never draw them as I show in the photo below.

When you cut down the middle one wall will suffer a little "shortening". And, if you sand and square the ends you will be changing the length and or the width of the wall.

I've always draw or copy the walls as shown in the photo below.

I'm not saying you can't use one wall line for two separate sections, but having two wall lines is a much better way to have the best results.

When cutting the horizontal walls, I've also found that I could use one line for the two sections. I only do this on small builds and as mentioned, only on horizontal wall cuts.

Continued in a few.

The other four structure walls were all drawn on the a sheet of random siding.

After these were drawn, I cut them off the sheet and did the front walls.

I then did all the side walls.

NOTE: I always draw and cut from the back side of the siding.

Continued in a few.
