Run, Tom.  Run!

Looking great.

Cheers, Mark.

Mark, Cheers,

Thank you as well. When I finished I said, "I'm pretty tired, I think I'll quit."  ;D ;D

Painting the facia really makes a difference, it looks great. Keep up the momentum, my friend.

John,

Thank you, much appreciate the support. I do have a problem with momentum and working on the layout. Post Covid-19, I still have an issue trying to stay focused and I still get tired quickly. Some days are better than others.

Looks great Tom. Also neat and organized. We plan on moving into independent living in two years and I have to start "getting organized."  Jim

Jim,

Thanks my friend. Good luck with the independent living arrangements. Hope all goes well in getting organized.

Great movie.

When we went on our drive around the Colorado plateau I took a photo from the spot on the road where they filmed that scene.  I remember we stayed at Mexican Hat.

Cheers, Mark.

An other advantage of painting facia is to show us somes pictures of part of the layout that we don't have see for a while.... and we love pictures .
Eric.

Eric,

I agree, showing fascia also gives everyone a better idea of how the layout is built. More pictures to follow in the coming weeks.

I think I've seen the movie more than a dozen times. I only saw it once in the theatre but see it a lot on the "boob tube". I've been to Savannah, Ga. where the part scene was filmed but that's it. I went to Savannah for Civil War stuff and just happened by the park and bench.

I was going through more stuff and found a package of cat tails. I figured as long as I had them they should go to good use.

When removed from the blister pack, I found they had a short steel wire in the middle. This is the center wire that has the cat tail on the top.

I felt they were to long and I didn't want to drill medium size holes in the water/resin. I used wire nippers and shortened the cat tails. I so doing I also cut above the glue line holding them together.

More in a few.

I gathered up the loose cat tails and held them with a tweezer.

I dipped the bottom ends in a little hot glue and "planted" them around the waters edge.

I was taking a break and sitting out by the pool talking to the Babe. After a few minutes I looked over and noticed the lounge pad had ripped on one end.  The lounge pad was stuffed with white poly fiber.

Of course, I helped it open a little more and the Babe said, "What are you doing?" I answered, "Finding treasure." I got up and said "Gotta go" and off to the train shed with my treasure in hand.

These will make great 3D clouds. ERR, nope, but the white poly fiber has a more important 3D purpose.

It will make my water in front of the tug more realistic as well as the splash form the drain pipes.

I'll add a little sewage green to the splashing fibers.

I applied a second and final coat of Mod Podge to the river surface and coated the white fibers also.

It had already started to dry clear prior to me finishing this coat.
