That's a real nice drill press you have there.

Rick,

Thanks my friend. This is the first time in four years I've pulled the drill press out.

Yesterday, I found time to paint the trim on the cabooses.

For the side hand rails, I slip a piece of paper under them and paint reefer yellow. In this case the yellow is Floquil Reefer Yellow.

For the rest of the yellow, there is no easy way. Just use a small brush, don't load the brush with a lot of paint, be patient and take your time.

The two brass cabooses are imported by Overland and both are Seaboard.

I wanted the marker lights located differently on both, so on the SAL caboose, I have it with the cupola forward and the A&S with the cupola in the rear.

Next, I'll install the window glass and then move on to the installation of the lighted marker lights.

Done for today.

I'm following you on this, as I have a couple of cabooses which need dressing up.  Marker lights are part of that, so they'll trip my occupancy detectors.  I had done an RR-Line thread on installing Tomar markers in a Centralia caboose, but haven't recreated it here.

Maybe you should!

Hello Tom, your cabooses are looking great. The yellow handrail painting tip is new to me and I'll have to remember that. Thanks.

Tom, those yellow handrails look very good against the red.
Really makes them pop.
Neat trick with the card.

James,

It's to bad we didn't get more notice of the RR lines shutting down.

I found my thread here I did back in 2016. It all still applies now.

Jerry,

I thread on this subject would be good. I did one back in 2016 on this forum. I'll take some of that thread and redo it here.
