Dave,

I agree, always best to check, just in case.

I just got caught up with this "Cliff Notes" version of this build.  I'm not sure why you call it that, seems like a very coherent progression of steps to me.  As always, I have picked up a couple tips from following your thread.  I'm glad you are again posting here, with my slow internet it seemed like it took me forever to load and view anything on RR-Line.

Jerry

Jerry,

Thank you, you are too kind. I do appreciate your checking in and following along on this one. I'm covering all the necessary stuff here but not showing as many photos, hence "Cliff notes"

I have fast internet but even I think RR Lines is much slower than here.

I needed the sub assembly to fit flush against the main structure. I made a back wall out of spare stock to fit between the two corner trim boards. I also made the a roof support for the rear so the roof panel will be level.

Since I scratch built the small addition and made it slightly larger, I needed to then recut the roof panel to fit the new size.

The one shown below is the original roof panel. I forgot to take a photo of the new roof panel.

There is a small structure that fits under the main roof of the freight house. Since I cut new walls for the main building and the small sub assembly, the kit clapboard walls for this small one don't match.

Shown below are the kit walls and where it fits on the kit.

The next photo shows the kit walls on the top and the new ones I cut on the bottom.

Sorry I haven't posted much lately. I was going to cut this thread down to only a few photos but decided to keep posting the build details. There is a lot of time invested in building, taking photos along the way, uploading the photos, cropping the photos, listing them in the forum gallery and then adding them to the thread.

I've been doing this, very detailed builds, for the past 15+ years but find if no one comments, there is no need for me to take the time to do the thread in detail.

This will be my last very detailed thread. In the future, I'll do what Karl Schultz did, show the unbuilt kit and the final photos.

When Doug cut the front warehouse bay walls, he used two different panels and as you can see they don't match. However, on this section of wall, it won't matter.

A small office bump out covers the unmatched walls.

I decided to add interior details to the warehouse. This also made me aware that interior walls and a floor needed to be added to the kit.

I used 1/16" X 1/32" scribed siding for the interior walls.

I used the kit walls as a template and drew the bay door openings on the wall section. The walls were then cut along the lines as shown below.

The first wall section was glued in place and weights were added and set over night as the glue dried.

I forgot to mention that I allowed a 1/16" gap at the bottom of the interior wall. This is where the floor will fit.
