Rick

Curt, just enough use and abuse on those barrels.

Jerry

Curt great job on the details.

It's the fun part of his kits and there are plenty of them.

Hello Curt, the details that you've been working on will look great along with the build. Can't wait to see the whole scene on your layout.

Afternoon All,

Thank you Larry, Philip, Rick, Jerry, Tom, Jeff, Mike and Greg for following along and your kind words.

For the last couple of days I've been working on detail parts and just finished the horizontal boiler which consists of resin, white metal and styrene parts.

It has a very long smoke stack that will extend through a open sided shed roof and have guide wires holding it. The directions said the "collar" was to be made up of rolled tape for an anchor points (guide wires) but I used a Tichy brake wheel with the inside cut out.

The boiler sits on a "concrete" base. I lightly weathered the boiler with light gray, white and just a little light rust weathering powders.

Next up is the hoist house winch which has a large amount of white metal parts.

Afternoon All,

Thank you Rick, Larry, and Jerry for following along and your kind comments.

Today I finished hoist assembly in the hoist house. It was a difficult assembly to complete and in the end I had to do some minor changes to get it looking acceptable.

Sorry for the duplicate photo. I couldn't figure out how to delete it.

Howdy Curt,

The boiler build is excellent.  Those winches are tricky to build, nice work.

Have fun,
mike
