Morning all,

Thanks for the coffee Jerry. Although I don't drink coffee it sure smells good.

Thanks for the danish Rick. I'll have some with my fresh OJ to go along with it.

Larry/Rick and others from the RR Lines. I've found that since Jim (CEO) and Craig (Amin) took over the Modeler's Forum it is much more friendly and accommodating to the members.

Rick, yes, the yard work yesterday was long over due. I  cut it a couple weeks prior to my hernia surgery December 7, 2024. Even through Winter, grass here still grows when it's cold. I spent 4 hours+ in the yard. I also repaired two sprinkle heads.

I hope to work more on the flat iron today. Yesterday I posted several photos on an update.

Have a safe and happy day everyone.

I find that to be right on.  I lurked a bit a few yrs ago and it seemed to be an insiders crew of pseudo celebrity back slapping name droppers and purveyors of self aggrandizing adulation.  The welcoming crew here has been welcoming and supportive. It feels like home.

I don't know anything about this forums past but I do agree that it has been friendly and accommodating.
Greatly appreciate that.

I did however take exception to some of the comments made by members about The Geezers Lounge.
I think those comments were made with a lack of understanding and history of this lounge.
Once things were explained it seems that all is well and accepting.
Again, that is appreciated.

Post Superbowl comments.

At least I don't own any  KC clothing or merchandise that I need to burn.

Good morning folks,

Jerry, thanks for opening and the first cup of coffee.  Good luck with the doc and your cold.

Rick, thanks for the second cup and breakfast.  Have fun in town.

Larry, wishing you respite for the sneaux.

Curt, the good thing about retirement is that you can choose what you will do: laundry, trains, or both.

TomACL, Flat iron is looking terrific.  I like the lighting.

Karl, nice photo.  Say howdy to my friends at Andy's and enjoy the OPS.

Gregory, good morning to you.

Philip, hope you dodge the sneaux.

I have a busy day ahead, Valentine shopping, a haircut, and a lodge meeting.  I hope to squeeze in some time on the box car, too.

How is the rest of the gang today?

Have fun,
mike

Good morning Jerry, Rick, Larry, Curt, ACLTom, Karl, Greg, Philip, Dave, Mike and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee Jerry and the breakfast Rick.

Going to keep it brief today as I'm in for a busy day as I just got reassigned to a different project at work today.  It seems that there will be an extended trip to Florida in the very near future.

I did manage some layout time yesterday as I finished laying the ties for the turnouts and made tie strips for the track work.

Have a great day everyone.

Ron,

Come on down and if anywhere near Orlando, come on by and see the layout and meet the SBGs.

Good morning from Wisconsin. I thought I visited and even posted this morning but nothing is showing up. Yes, I do know I posted in the Baggage Car.

It's cool at +7 real feel temperature but a great time for a last minute day trip. We are heading to one of the best Fish shops in the Midwest. The St Paul's Fish Company is exquisite at the Milwaukee location in the 3rd Ward in Milwaukee's Public Market. We are going to the Mequon location north of the city and a suburb of it, just a mile maybe from Lake Michigan. We hope the food is just as delectable as the Public Market location. Generally on last minute day trip decisions we limit the drive to 90 minutes or 90 miles. This is at 94 minutes and acceptable on a nice clear Monday. This will just be considered a "Foodie" trip. We are unfamiliar with the area and it's a touch cold and will be breezy so close to the Lake. So I doubt we will get out and walk around. If it's looks good we will come back when it's warmer

Terry is looking forward to a great Lobster Roll but her meds will not allow for a beer. I'm a shrimp lover but there is so much on the menu! This will be lunch and dinner!

On the way home we will stop to pick up my order just placed at Hiawatha Hobbies.

KARL, did the model just glaze over after the clear coat was applied? If so, try another coat of a matte clear 1st before stripping it to start over. You can always strip it down...

Enjoy your day

Mornin' fellas. Thanx for the coffee Jerry, and the Danish Rick.  41(f)with occasional showers in DFW; it's gonna be drab and wet all week; but back in the 60's and sunny next week.

Think I'll get started on building the Sector Plate for the RR.  I was rummaging around and found almost evevrything I'll need.  We'll see how it comes out.

Ya'll have a great day....

Bring unfamiliar with the term, I had to look up what a Sector Plate was. Interesting concept.

Seems like a great idea in a corner to turn an engine around but without  the space required of a Wye. Seems like dependent upon the length of the sector, a small switching loco and end of train coach car might be swapped ends  as well.  Just a passing siding along wouldn't allow  pointing  ends in the right direction. Nice idea.
