It's not "under attack". It's not a complaint. It's a suggestion.

I usually read the Geezer posts in RRL almost everyday for 12 years that I was a member. I also contributed to them many times over those years, including this one, earlier today.

If I have any "complaint" it's in the form of  teasing about not finding Cheerios at the breakfast table. There is room at this forum's table for everyone.

I am thankful for those who honor the 'ol Geezers memory and those who honor tradition. I apologize to those that have  been "offended" by what I thought was a simple innocently intended comment.

Agreed, certainly not an "attack" or complaint, more like a Welcome.

Do what you want, I guess. Just what we're all used to. Personally, I'd love to integrate all the new friends into a consistent thing.

Can't believe that people who never contributed to the Geezer Lounge on RR-Line are complaining that we have one long continuous instead thread instead of starting a new one daily.
I'd love to know why that bothers them.

Rick I wasn't attacking the thread or you. I actually like the day by day format best, but I understand I'm only one person. Personally, I would be hard pressed to remain here without the Geezers Lounge in  current or a daily form. Again no offense was intended. I am a loyal Geezer Lounge participant.

Good still Wisconsin morning.

Bernd: read the MRH stuff today as I usually only visit once or twice a week at MRH. I can say if I had looked at who the OP was instead of just reading the opening I would have skipped it all. Totally understood what you were trying to say because your writing was rather clear. JoeF was very honest, straight forward and blunt to Brian the OP who will not respond. The OP always asks a question, usually on multiple forums and rarely responds to the good advice. JoeF though really is letting all the side tracking go

I don't think Geezers was being attacked but if it gets to a them vs us thing I'll just leave. Legit questions that IMOO would not have been needed to ask if folks had read the opening pages here.

I still feel welcome here

Mornin' all Thanx for the breakfast Tom.  WOW,  To quote Mick Jagger..."WHY ARE WE FIGHTING"   Thought I'd add just a little 'humor'.    I don't know anything about types of 'threads',  or even what 'MRH' is; all I know - is this is the first place I stopped by after the 'RRLine thing' happened, and I found so many of the same folks already here that were on the RRLine, that I decided to just pull my wagon over, uncinch the team and start a homestead.  Everything seems to be fine here-so I don't need to go 'trapesing around' the "internet forrest" looking for something else.  I guess I'm just easily impressed and satisfied.  But ya'll are the best fellas I know of when it comes to trains, and even other stuff.  Like when Rick asked me about my Genisis Speakers.  I like it just fine.

Does anyone know if there's any apple pie or lemon filled donuts around anywhere??????????????
I'll bring some tomorrow......................

I watched "The Gunfighter" (Gregory Peck c1950) last night.  I'd never seen it, and heard it was a really good movie. It was. Interesting twist on the 'fastest gun in the west' bit. Seems as though I always like anything Gregory Peck is in; I think he's a fine actor.

Today, I'm gonna 'get out' all the locomotives and rolling stock.  They've been 'boxed up' since the move almost a year ago.  Time flies.....

Ya'll have a great day.....

I wasn't complaining about separate threads.  I'm thankful for those who responded as to how it ran on RR-L.  It's not an us versus them thing.  I just wondered if we should combine them.  Most days I go thru both of them.  Finding out what Star is doing with his human is always interesting.

Types of threads usually pertain to the subject matter. MRH is Model Railroad Hobbyist forum and also an E-zine (electronic magazine) run by Joe Fugate. I've been a member since 2011. It's just another site that's more geared toward DCC, modern railroading and operations.

Thanks to everyone for your input concerning the addition of the Geezers Lounge to the Modelers Forum. This Forum is what the members want to make of it for the the sharing by people interested in modeling, all members regardless of how long they have been a member. As for the reason there are now two chat rooms it has been well explained from what I've read. Having two rather then one is less inclusive but it is obvious some folks like a daily chat and others like the history attached to Geezers Lounge as well as the rolling thread format. So we have two places to say hi and catch up, Enjoy them as you like. All are welcome to participate as they can and want.

Good morning everyone.

Mountain Center weather: Mostly sunny, with a high near 59.

Coffee, sodas and OJ are ready.
Pork roll, egg and cheese on a Brooklynn everything bagel for breakfast today. (Jerry can have Taylor Ham instead)  ::)  ;D

Jim, thank you for allowing us to continue with The Geezers Lounge.
I know there are some, me included, that will post in both.

Jeff, I'm glad you enjoy seeing what Star and I are doing.

Bernd, good morning.

Kyle, no one is fighting.
There was a misunderstanding and some explanation was needed.  ;D
Hope you had fun with the trains yesterday.

TomO, I've never been to the MRH forum and sounds to me that there's no reason to start now.

Curt, I didn't think you were attacking the thread or me.
I was responding to the first couple of posts in the other lounge.

cute, you will always be welcomed here and I will continue to post in your traditional lounge daily as well.

Dave, good morning.

Jerry, hope you've won the battle.

Ron, glad you were able to get some modeling time yesterday.

Philip, hope you're able to stop running today.  ;D

Mike, Nowlin's looks like a contest winner to me.

Larry, you know what they say, once you go Mac you can never go back.  ;D

Karl, maybe spring will come early and painting outside can resume.

ACLTom, Greg, Terry and everyone else looking in, hope you are all well.

Star and I did a great 6 mile 700' of elevation gain hike yesterday on the Pacific Crest Trail.
Amazing views.
I think the lounge debate is all water under the bridge now and we can all carry on as usual.
Found another nice spot to camp and enjoyed a good cigar and coffee after the hike.
Not much planned today and no interest in the SB.
But since I'm a Redskins fan I hope the Chiefs three-peat.

A short video of one of the amazing views from yesterdays hike.

Morning Fellas,

Rick thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Yes my Mac is still my go-to computer
but sadly the design app hasn't been ported to iOS yet.

Ron, sorry buddy, I'm still very much a Mac guy and will continue to be so.

Who are you rooting for today?

It's 23 with a high of 31 in New York. They, whoever they are, have projected us to
get 2-3 feet of the white stuff over the next 10 days; ugh! Overnight looks like about
6 inches fell so I'll be spending some time this afternoon getting rid if that. Not
sure about the rest of the day though.

Have a great day!!!! Be well and stay safe.

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Rick, much appreciated.

I'll keep this short as today I'll start getting the yard back in shape. Edging, cutting grass and other small areas needing attention. We have an unusual warm trend here so I'm taking advantage of it.

Have a safe and happy day everyone.

Good morning from my small part of So. Central Wisconsin. 15f degrees feels like 7 and heading into the low 20's.

Another hockey game on campus at noon today! The #1 ranked Badgers won over the #3 ranked Minnesota Gophers 8-2, yesterday. We have had season tickets since 2008 but since 2015 Terry and I have gone to all the home games minus only 2 or 3. This maybe the best team I have seen with possibly the exception of the 2020 team that had won the NCAA titles in 2019 and again in 2021. The 2020 team literally was getting on the plane to the Final 4 when Trump closed the USA. This team has better scoring and defensive depth and as usual for a Wisconsin team, exceptional goal tending. But they play the games for a reason, we can only hope! The Final 4 is in Minneapolis this year and yep if they qualify Terry and I will be there.

The grandson is playing in a hockey tournament up in North Central Wisconsin. The team won in the morning and lost in the evening. They also play at noon while we are on campus. But Terry can stream his games to her phone so we will have quick updates

No modeling mojo so far this weekend. I didn't even venture into the train room (even for a soda) yesterday. I will get there today.

Enjoy the day

Good morning Rick, Larry, ACLTom, TomO and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Rick, and you are right, that was a great view.

Larry, No need to be sorry, just happy to hear that you are still a Mac Man. ;D  I'll be routing for the Chiefs as I hope they can 3-peat.

ACLTom, don't overdue yourself with the outside work, and if you want to send some of that warmer air our way, we won't say no.

TomO, have fun in the train room today (if you make it).

Jeff and everybody else, it was in interesting day here yesterday with the Geezer Lounge vs the daily hello thread in the main lounge, looks like one big misunderstanding and we are all good now.

Its a balmy -11c (12f) with the white stuff predicted this afternoon.  Manage some time at the layout as I worked on the bridge (I posted an update) and started laying the switch ties for the staging yard.  I hope to continue to work on laying ties today between the hockey game and the football game.

Have a great day everyone.
