Good Morning All,

Once again I hit the wrong button and the post I was working on disappeared. I really wish there was a feature to recover what I had typed. :-X

Supposed to get in the 80's today. I've already completed the chores for the day. MOH and daughter are on their way to a skunk rescue event almost 2 hours away. I'll be heading to the train room shortly.

I will steal Ron's description of the repair job as the "plumbing adventure" and now officially call it completed as of yesterday. ;D

Rick pretty scenery and it was good to see Star hiking with you again.

Larry don't over do it shoveling snow,  and hopefully you get to your workbench today.

Tom don't over do it today. I hope Pam is feeling better. Are you planning on a SBG next Saturday?

TomO enjoy the hockey games today.

Ron have fun working on the bridge and watching sports today.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Well, at least Josh Allen was voted MVP.

Four inches of white stuff that I won't be shoveling today fell overnight. My son will be out making money by plowing. Hopefully he remembers one other driveway on his list...mine.

I brought a family sized box of Cheerios, milk, bowls, spoons and Tequila for breakfast.

Time for wiring on control panels and under the workbench today.

Good morning crew,

Rick, thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Those dinosaur sculptures are amazing.

Larry, I saw the forecast for you and hope you stay safe with all the sneaux removal activities.

TomACL, hope you enjoy being outdoors working in the yard.

TomO, good luck to your hockey teams.

Ron, looks like you are getting some winter weather up there.  Stay warm and have fun on the layout.  It's looking good.

Curt, wrong button hits are most aggravating.  Have fun in the train room.

Gregory, have a good one.

Dave, be careful under the layout.  I skinned my head so many times that I eventually wore a cap with a thick foam insert.  ::)

How is the rest of the crew this morning?

It's a grey morning here and the rain just stopped.  It's 67F headed to 68F.

Yesterday, I took photos of Nowlin's Gas and posted them. I spent a good amount of time working on the boxcar. I kept breaking the sides when drilling holes for stirrups. Note to self: Don't remove the doors from the sides before reinforcing. I'll elaborate in the equipment thread.

We are headed to our daughter's place for a raclette meal before the Super Bowl.  I'll be there with my Cowboys regalia rooting for them.

Have fun,
mike

That's why I brought the tequila...to dull the pain.

We got rain most of the night no white stuff.
Still can't shake this cold.

Assume GREEN typography, 'tain't workin' for me today....

Cold, grey, snowing.  But we have Cheerios! :-[

The visit with the kids yesterday was, ok.  The Doll and her other daughter are off to breakfast and some shopping this morning.  I'll get at some modeling in a bit.

I found anothe way to fowl up the finish on the loco.  I threw a coat of satin paint from the can on it at the back door then let it sit outside in the garage.  It was a decorated shell, the contrast color seemed to cause the spray stuff to bead up like rain-x and pretty much looked bad.  The whole mess goes into the IPA today, stripping it bare might be a better way.  Or total  >:(  we'll see.  Not a priority thing anyhow.

No interest in the football game.  May have it on as time killer, or not.  There surely isn't a lot to see on the box this morning... of course it ain't a box these days, is it. :o My SPARTANS had Duck stew yesterday, won by 14 after being down 16 at the half.  Our icers did in Meechigun 6-1 yesterday, too.

Be well all.

KSinMI.   This is supposed to print GREEN, but not today I guess....

Mornin' fellas thanx for the coffee Rick. It was upper 80's yesterday, the 'cold' front came through; today only 50 with spotty rain. AHHHHH Texas weather; it'll keep ya guessing.

No interest in SB LIX, but nice if the Chiefs got 3 in a row. I used to watch football any and everytime a game was on.  Somewhere over the last 15 years or so my interest dwindled to only about 2 or 3 teams college included. Now, I find myself with little or no 'emotional investment' and haven't sat down and watched a Super Bowl 'cover to cover' at all.  I can honestly say "the last 'complete' Super Bowl I watched was the Jan.31st 1993 (1992 season) 52-17 ass-whuppin' the Cowboys administered to the Bills. After that ....it just started to 'dwindle' down to what it is today.  I know all about the teams involved, records, stats, etc., as well as most of the other 30 teams.  But I just don't seem to care. I've never been a 'sports fan'; I just happened to have played football in my teenage years, and inrtamurals in college 'cause I like the 'game'. Other than that, no interest in sports at all. I sure do like model railroading though, and the chance to hang out with fellas like ya'll. The clarity of creating something and then sharing it with other 'like minded' folks is inspirational, and fulfilling.

I was making a little joke earlier with the Mick Jagger quote..."Why are we fighting"; guess it didn't come off that way. I should remember it's a keyboard and screen, not a teleporter.  "..Sorry Scotty"  YUK,YUK,YUK.

Beautiful video Rick, and beautiful companion.   When you get as close to an animal (any) as you and Star are , I think they become a companion.  You're so lucky.

Ya'll have a great day, stay warm, or cool, and comfortable......

Keep It Rusty

An inaugural hello to those I haven't yet "met" - welcome to The Modeler's Forum! I'm Craig (I manufacture craftsman kits under the name "Keep it Rusty") and I am the forum's admin. Seeing the increased traffic over the last few weeks is wonderful. As many of you know, this forum rose again from the ashes, so seeing it prosper all over again really is a treat - especially for me.

In regards to a point recently raised, as explained elsewhere, I find zero issues with having two sets of "daily" threads. In fact, it's encouraged to use this forum to continue traditions founded elsewhere - after all, it's that level of passion that will allow this forum to continue to grow and prosper (what is a forum without a community?)

With that in mind, I only ask one thing - that we promote and encourage a unified community. Without that, we are breaking the most important rule: to have fun!

KentuckySouthern

Thanks Craig. Glad to be here. Your stewardship of this place and open welcoming if refreshing.

Just finished watching the last football game of the season, as a disappointed Lions fan I didn't have a horse in the contest. Just a diversion.

The bar is open....

Enjoy all.

ACLTom, first time I've seen you post yard work in a while.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Took it easy yesterday.
Heading back into town today for a gym visit, Costco, Walmart and a long overdue haircut.
I'm sure someone else has made coffee and breakfast while I'm typing this long missive.

Yesterday sunrise.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning Gents,

Craig thanks for the warm welcome you've shown us and for a very well thought out forum format.
The change over from RR Line, for me at least, was pretty much seamless. Thanks again.

Jerry thanks for opening and the java. Good luck with the car repairs and hope you feel better soon.

Rick thanks for the second cup and breakfast this morning. Hope you get everything accomplished today.

What's going on today?

It's 22 with a high of 27 in New York. Dodged the bullet last night with the white crap; just a dusting.
Lake Effect's on tap for today; how I hate Lake Ontario!!! Spent a few hours yesterday cleaning up the white mess and tried to pull snow off the front porch & hedges. After all that I didn't see the bench until after
dinner. Maybe today.

Have a wonderful day!! Keep warm, be well, and stay safe.

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening Jerry and breakfast Rick.

Started out the day with a walk at 61F and clear although it was supposed to be foggy.

Yesterday was a good day in the train room spending almost 4 hours there. ;D  MOH made it home around 2030 and said they had made almost $1K for the rescue. :o

Today is laundry then I'll head to the train room for awhile. Don't you love retirement?

Jerry good luck at the doctor's. I hope the car doesn't cost too much $$$.

Rick good luck with the errands and pretty SR.

Larry hopefully the s**w will stay away.

I hope everyone has a good day.
