Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast and the OJ Rick. Sorry about your weather but we need both sun and rain. Just not when we don't want them.

The BBQ was great and we had a wonderful time. Many looked the same, just older and others looked bad for their age. You could definitely tell or more importantly see the difference in those that kept to the "stay in shape policy" and those that are enjoying the couch potato retirement. A few I had no idea who they were until they came up and I saw the name tag.

Of course, we all had war stories and we talked about our old badges. My first one said Patrolman, the women said Patrolwoman. We wondered if the new badges said "We, Them or Us". 8) In the early 80's all the badges had Officer on them other than ranks. I have all my badges in a display case - Patrolman, Officer, Sergeant and Lieutenant. The one that has Retired Lieutenant, I keep in my wallet next to my license, you know, Just in case!  ;D

I'm working on the flat iron build and am nearing the end, finally.

Have a great day and stay healthy everyone.

Good morning Rick, Curt, Larry, Jerry, Mike, Dave, ACLTom and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Rick, will have to check out your latest video.

Curt, I'm going to enjoy this weather as long as I can, it's much better than what I left.  My wife told me they got 6" more of the white stuff yesterday.

Larry, wait a month or so, the white ctap should be gone by then.  ;D  Hope you make it to the bench.

Jerry, glad round 2 of the pilings are working out to be much better.

Mike, Have fun at the bench.

Dave, hope the coupler install goes better than expected.

ACLTom,  Looking forward to seeing the flatiron building finished.

Currently 55 here in Jacksonville Fl as opposed to -6F back home.  Today's plan in to make a grocery run then work in setting up the office / train room.  Should be fun.

Have a great day everyone.

Gee, Tom I have one of those wallets, too.. 8) I didn't have many badge changes over the years but we went through nearly a dozen iterations of shoulder patches.  First Sheriff was a cheapskate and our patches looked like something from a B movie. SHERIFF A Star DEPARTMENT. Was a year later he retired and our new guy went to adding the County Name and a few variations of graphics over years.  Since I retired Sheriff's Department became Sheriff's Office apparently Department was deemed subservient and the Shire Reeves deem themselves above the fray politically.  Be that as it may.  It's all a long time ago... I made a couple retired get togethers, monthly first Wed of the month lunch, but realized for the most part they were co-workers, not necessarily great friends.

Grey, cold, calm weather here today.  Mid week glob is forecast.

IndyCar, NASCAR, Hoops are all on the possibilities for today.  Record the afternoon hoops, play it back in evening after finding out the outcome.  Hate to waste 2+ hours for a "L"

Not sure of plans today. Always layout projects to do.

Be well all.  Safe, dry, warm, cool...as the case may be.

Over the years we went through several shoulder patches. When Universal came to town, we change uniforms from Toupe pants and dark brown shirts to all dark blue with a new colorful shoulder patch. At one time the City Council wanted all the supervisors to wear white shirts. What a dumb ass idea that was and talk about lighting up the supervisor at night! That lasted a month. Politicians just have no clue about working the streets.

Tom's piece about "supervisors wear white shirts" reminded me of my large defense computer project.  It was the tradition for briefers to wear red shirts (in honor of all those Star Trek guys who gave their life for their starship.)  And the catchtag to assign the briefing responsibility was, "Who gets the 'bummer of the birthmark' for this briefing?"

Good morning all.

Thanks for the coffee Rick. My tune-up on the engines was cancelled as the weather took a nose dive into the 20's again. Was planning on tuning the rider and push mower, weed eater. blower, and row tiller. Did manage to fix the broken leg on the push plow before the cold set in. Also sharpened all the blades on the mowers. We have spring fever but the weather again sucks!

Still fiddling with the juke joint last night. Trying to add LED's. I'll never buy another five dollar kit. PIA putting it lightly.

Have a great Sunday and see you all around the forum!

Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is coffee, banana muffins, bagels, cereal, OJ, and soda.

Started out the day with a walk with a feel like temp of 48F and calm. Yesterday I continued working on the kit for several hours. I had problems getting 2 part epoxy to stick to the edges of the white metal chute loader. I ended up having to use Gorilla construction cement (clear). I had even filed the edges.

We probably have a rescue today. MOH made it home around 6 pm last night with 6 additional skunks. We're keeping them until Saturday. With the 2 rescues today that will make 13 animals here. :o  :o  :o

Dad has a blood draw this morning and home PT this afternoon. This will be a waste of time. He never continues on his own.

Well I've blabbed enough.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning everyone.

San Luis Obispo weather: A 20 percent chance of showers before 10am. Sunny, with a high near 61.

Coffee, sodas and OJ are ready.
French toast for breakfast.
There's sugar, cinnamon, fresh churned butter and real maple syrup to sprinkle and slather on if you wish.

Greg, thanks for watching the video.

Philip, hope your weather vis better today.

Dave, that would be an unfortunate birthmark for a deer.

Karl, so which sporting event caught your attention?

Ron, all set up?

ACLTom, glad you had a good time at the BBQ.

Mike, do you catch a lot of rats?

Jerry, hope to see your new thread soon.

Larry, thought you'd be done with the white stuff.

Curt, make any good kit progress?

TomO, doing a lot of weathering?

Hope everyone else looking in is doing well.

I have no good excuse for being up so early.
I'll go back to bed and try to get another hour or two sleep in a bit.
Going to the shore today.
There's a spot where sea otters hang out and I'd like to get a picture of them.
There's also a dog beach Star wants to visit.

Here's the van parked by the four guardsmen at Sequoia NP.

Have a great day everyone.

Rick

Good morning Curt.
I saw you were here but wasn't sure if you were in the lounge.
WOW, you'll have your hands full with all those critters.

Larry C

Good Morning,

Curt thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Yup that's a LOT of critters to see to.
Speaking from personal experience when parents get up in years they tend to become
quite stubborn either that or they're getting tired of all this extra stuff they didn't
have to do years ago; be patient.

Rick thanks for the second cup-o-java. Sadly we'll still be seeing some sn*w through March;
now April is a different story.Rick safe travels and hope Star makes some new friends. Seeing
otters would be quite the sight.

What's the plan for the day.

It's 15 with a high of 32 in New York. Received a few inches overnight but at least it's not FEET.
Some errands shortly after the car gets cleaned off. Worked on the rafters and sub-roof yesterday
so hopefully some more today; model that is.

Have a great day!!! Be well and stay safe.

Rick that is very cool about the otters. Pls try to get a video of them and Star frolicking in the ocean.

I remember we were tied up to the pier in Bangor, WA and seals (marine mammals) would lay on the camels between the sub and the pier. I found that fascinating. Maybe they were trying to get a suntan from the reactor.😂😂😂

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Curt. You have your hands full with all your house guests. Pam's mom won't do rehab on her own either.

It was such a nice day here in Central FL. yesterday I decided to edge and cut the grass. Later I added a short update on the flat iron build.

Have a safe and happy day everyone.

Good morning.  Thanks for breakfast, Curt. Yesterday, I hurt my finger (it was cut on a veggie slicer) and can't type much.  It's on my left pinky, and I am left-handed. Otherwise, I am still here. ~mike
