Rick

Good morning everyone.

Coalinga, CA weather: Sunny, with a high near 76.

Curt, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
Sorry about your bad day at the VA.
Spend some good time modeling to get your mind off of it.

TomO, good luck to all of your favorite hockey teams.
Hope you can find a suitable horn.

Larry, hope you make good progress at the bench.

Dave, thanks for stopping in.

ACLTom, have fun at the BBQ and you're doing great for 78.

Mike, your shed is looking fantastic and I haven't found that gold yet.

Ron, hope you get the electronics set up so you can get to the important stuff of working on the modules.

Philip, lawnmower, edger and what else motor wise?

Jerry, weather still nice there?

Greg, Terry, Karl and everyone else looking in, hope you are all well.

Hiked to Marble Falls yesterday.
This was the most challenging of the three hikes I did at Sequoia.
6.6 miles and 1,552' of elevation gain.
When I was east last year I bought Neutral Density filters for the camera and haven't used them yet.
ND filters are like sunglasses and reduce the amount of light entering the camera.
They will increase the exposure time and are used many times at waterfalls to give the falling water a smoother look.
Using the filters meant I had to bring my camera bag and tripod.
I haven't downloaded those pictures and will probably get to them later today.
Ticks are out already and found seven on me.  >:(
Only thing planned today is to head a bit more west, hit a gym and then find a spot to stay for a couple of days.

A scene on the way to Moro Rock at Sequoia NP.

Have a great day everyone.

Dave, Enjoy your day.

Larry, have fun at the bench.

TomO, hope all your hockey teams win today.

Rick, I did get the electronics set up last night, now I'm ready for the latest season of "Drive to Survive" to start.  ;D

Another sunny day here in Jacksonville Florida, I'm starting to like this weather more and more.  8)  Tonight's plan is to setup my workbench.  From there I can set up my module frames and mount the modules.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning Folks;

Thought I would say hi here today. It sounds like nothing has changed at the VA, my friend who came back from Vietnam pretty shot up had nothing but problems trying to get help there in the late 80's and 90's.

Great weather here today, sitting on the porch with my coffee enjoying it. Can't believe it is already March, wonder if those Roman gods are looking down today, we sure could use the help. Anyway, I am just going to putter around and take the better half out to a lake side restaurant later. Have a great day folks.

Temps today from 47 to 12 (but that's better than the original forecast, 52 to 8 )  Cold front coming through about 4:00 with winds, etc.      I got some work done on the Ambroid car, will take dogs out and head back down to the train room.  Soon, I'll be able to put the sides on the car.  Replacement couplers are due today, I just got a notice about that.

TomO that's one helluva of a weathering schedule.

Jerry

Actually Jerry, I'm pretty happy with it. I am going to limit myself this year and part of that will come from no new commission clients unless I was recommended to them by a current client.

30 to 40% of the amount I did in rolling stock would be nice. That hopefully will be satisfying to the clients and healthier for me. I'm trying to balance but not just drop out. I still enjoy weathering so why give it up.

Be well
TomO

Howdy folks,

Curt, thanks for the coffee and bagel.  Bummer about the medical appointment issues.  Good luck on the bench.

TomACL, hope you had fun at the BBQ.  It's great you are staying in shape.  Wish I was three pounds more than when I retired.

Dave, happy calendar flipping.

Larry, have fun at the bench.  Good luck with the roof.

TomO, wishing you a fun time at the games.  Good luck at the bench.

How is the rest of the gang?

It's a bright and windy day in the Piedmont.  My sister just left with her two dogs, so it is quiet in the house.  I have several 1:1 honey-do items before I can head upstairs to finish the roof on the shed.

Have fun,
mike

Rick

Good morning everyone.

San Luis Obispo weather: Showers likely before 10am, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 10am and 4pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 58.
It's raining now.  :-\

Coffee, sodas and OJ are ready.
Crispy bacon, egg and cheddar cheese on a toasted and buttered everything bagel for breakfast today.

Mike, is the roof finished?

TomO, I think it's great you're finding balance with life and the hobby.

Dave, make any good progress on the car yesterday?

Jim, hope you had a good meal with your wife at the restaurant.

Karl, sunny s#@! showers?

Jerry, Star takes her tick meds monthly.

Greg, hope the sun is still shining.

Ron, I'm excited about Drive to Survive too.

Larry, glad your roof is clear.

Curt, the kit progress is looking good.

ACLTom, how was the BBQ and seeing your work buddies?

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Other than going to the gym and driving to San Luis Obispo, nothing much else happened.
Well, I did finally get around to posting my Isabella Peak Hike on YouTube.
With all the wetness predicted today I don't think there will be much outdoor activity.

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Rick. Try to stay dry today but rain is good for your location.

Starting out here in the high 50's getting into the 70's today. MOH will probably make it home around 7 pm tonight. A very long weekend for her. After chores I'll head to the workbench to continue working on the kit.

Next week has 3 separate medical appointments and the home visits all of which are Dad's. :(

Ron don't get too used to the weather. We have 2-3 weeks in the spring and fall that are beautiful then it's either too cold (for us) or too hot. At least when it gets hot the migrating snow birds go home. ;D

I've blathered on enough.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning Gents,

Rick thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Too bad the rain is putting a damper on
your outside activities but at least it's not sn*w.

Curt have fun with your build and hope Dad is progressing well.

What's your plans for the day.

It's a whomping 7 with a high of 19 in New York. Must be the cold Canadian air is trying
to follow Ron to Florida. Tomorrow it's going to warm back up. Oh ya we received 4 inches
of white crap overnight; ugh. Not sure about today, maybe some bench time to work on the roof.

Have a great day!! Be well and stay safe.

Good morning folks,

Rick, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast.  Hope your day is dry.

Curt, enjoy your quiet time at the bench.

Larry, that is too darn cold.  Good luck at the bench.

Jerry, looking forward to your photos.

How are the rest of the gang?

It's a chilly morning but warming to 57F.  The sun is shining and there is no wind.  Yesterday, I worked outside picking up dog poop, emptying gardening trash tub, sweeping porch, setting more rat traps, etc.  I did finish the roof and hope to weather it today.  Then I'll start on the interior details.

Have fun,
mike

Yesterday we had an abbreviated Scotch Club, just the "Laird o' the Malts" and myself, and I just do small tastes.  So he dug out some of his top shelf stuff.  While we were sitting on his back porch, we watched the front blow in, temps dropped, the winds picked up, and then snow squalls (all just as forecast).  When I got home, I realized we had run out of oil.  So I called for an emergency resupply.  (We were due for delivery today, but the cold February probably messed up their prediction algorithm.)  With temps predicted to get down to 10, I didn't want to just gut it out overnight.

More work on the Ambroid kit today, the big focus will be on the couplers.  I might end up having to trim off the cast-on coupler box, major surgery on the end platform casting.
