Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is cereal, some kind of pastry, bagels, coffee, OJ, and soda.

It's supposed to get to 80F today. Ron has got to be loving this weather! Today both Dad and I have VA appointments mid morning then this afternoon physical therapy for Dad...not that he will do anything on his own.

Yesterday I spent several hours at the workbench and got the truss rods and cross bracing in for the headframe. To say it was fiddly is a understatement. :o I'll do an update this weekend to my build thread.

Jerry Up to this point I've only been in a HL a couple of times. Now that the very close JoAnn's store is closing the options are HL or Michael's.

Rick beautiful scenery in your latest video.

Tom I hope you are healing quickly.

TomO I hope Terry is doing well after the surgery.

Ron enjoy the very nice weather, it will be hot before you know it.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Curt.

My leg continues to heal but it will take another month for the true healing of the surgery site.

Bowling went well yesterday. I'm coming out of my surgery slump and wasn't afraid to put pressure on the left leg.

Today I'll continue work on the flat iron. The challenge end in 25 days. I have much more to do.

Have a safe and healthy day everyone.

Good morning everyone.

Sequoia NP weather: Sunny, with a high near 73.

Curt, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
Hope the VA visit goes well and maybe we'll see an update from you soon.

Jerry, you didn't get anything at HL?

Ron, everything put away?

Greg, how are you?

Larry, honey-do list get done?

TomO, you did a great job on those linesmen trucks.

Karl, glad you got the curve realigned and nice picture.

Philip, hope you are much less sore today.

ACLTom, how's the leg healing?

Mike, did anything get weathered?

I hiked to the top of Moro Rock yesterday.
Spectacular views of the Sierras from there.
One more hike planned today before I leave the park.

A short video of the view from Moro Rock: https://youtube.com/shorts/D5jklShYgDo

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning!

Have a great day!

Getting motors ready for spring today. Oh fun!

Later!

Larry C

Morning Gents,

Curt thanks for the coffee and breakfast. From what I've read ALL the JoAnn stores are closing
which is a shame; pretty soon "box stores" will be an endangered species.

Tom glad the bowling went well and sounds like you'll have to hustle on the Challenge.

Rick yup the "hd list" was completed; unless it decides to have babies. Have a fun and safe hike.

Greg good morning.

Jerry sounds like some nice weather in Jersey. Hope the bench time is productive.

Philip Spring here is still just a day dream; usually by the end of March I get more hopeful.

What's your plans for the day.

It's 29 with a high of 37 in New York. It's supposed to warm back up next week so I'll have
to throw down some salt in the driveway to make a path for Ellie to get to the car; should be
fun....not. Not sure what's happening today.

Have an enjoyable day!! Be well and stay safe.

Good afternoon everyone.

Tried checking in earlier but got a message saying the page was not available.  :o

Curt, I am loving this weather, went from a winter jacket to no jacket required when I leave for work.  What's not to like.  8)  Looking forward to the headframe update.

ACLTom, have fun working on the Flatiron Building.

Rick, still have stuff to do like setting up the electronics, office and train layout.  Enjoy your hike today.

Another sunny day here in Northern Florida.  More setting up to do, the goal tonight is to get the electronics setup.

Have a great day everyone.

Good afternoon folks,

Curt, thanks for opening and coffee. I'm looking forward to your headframe photos.

TomACL, congrats on bowling improvements. Flat iron is looking good!

Rick, thanks for the video. There's gold in them there hills.

Gregory, howdy to you.  Hope you have a great day.

Jerry, good luck with the pilings.

Philip, good luck with the motors.  Ugh is right!

Larry, hope the salt and thawing go well.

Curt, good luck with the eye exam.

Karl, good luck with the car service and tax preparation. Yuck. That's a nice painting that captures the farm.

TomO, congrats on the truck sales.

Ron, I hope settling into the warmer climate is going well.

How are the rest of the crew doing?

It's a bright, nice day here with the high forecast for 70F.  I think we have a decent weather forecast for a while.

Today the rafters were added to the roof and the roofing material added. I decided to use corrugated iron instead of wood shingles. I'll take some photos later.  I rearranged my desktop and like it much better.  It is brighter and gives me more desktop space.

Have fun,
mike

Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, bagels, cream cheese, OJ, and soda.

Started out the day with a walk at 53F and clear. It's supposed to be a Chamber of Commerce day. MOH is out of town until Sunday evening with a skunk event. I had to stay home to do Dad's IV meds.

Yesterday was a damn waste at the VA. On the way there we got a call that Dad's appointment was canceled because the provider was out sick. That left my eye appointment. I checked in and was told back in December the appointment was canceled with no reason given. I was not informed. >:( Both are now rescheduled in a couple of weeks. I have been using the VA facilities here for 15 years and yesterday was a first. Not a happy camper.

Today the only plan is to work on the kit and do an update on the build thread.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Curt and sorry to hear about the VA issues. My dad refused to use the VA as more cancellations and waiting time just mad him more angry.

Pam and I have a BBQ to attend today for the police retirees. I haven't been to one in 20+ years so it should be fun to see how many stayed in shape. I guess you could say I'm out of shape as I weight 3 pounds more than when I retired 26 years ago. I no longer run 30 miles a week but I walk at least 6 miles each week. For 78 I'm not complaining or bragging.

I've been very busy with the flat iron build and will add more this afternoon.

Have a safe and healthy day everyone.

Curt, sorry you had problems at the VA. I think we all have to be patient with government these days, employees are under a lot of stress and uncertainty.

Everyone, don't forget to flip your train calendars to the next photo.  I have 2 in the office.  One is Yvonne Lashmett's Durango & Silverton, and the other is the New Haven calendar from my former office mate and fellow train buff.

add, for Larry C below  Larry, the Ides are the days around the middle of the month.  The first day is the Kalends.  See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_calendar#Months

Happy Ides of March,

Back during the Roman Empire March 1st was designated as "the ides of March" where supposedly
the gods turned their attention that one day to humans; that's about all I remember from 3 years
of Latin from High School.

Curt thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Sorry to hear about the VA; sadly the healthcare system isn't
what it once was. Have fun with your build and looking forward to your update.

Tom a BBQ sounds nice right about now; of course I'd have to sn*w blow the back yard first. 78?? your still a puppy and enjoy the food and friends.

Dave good morning and yes the calendar has been flipped already.

What's the rest of you have planned.

It's 37 with a high of 40 in New York and the sn*w has really settled and finally my roofs are clear again.
Planning on some bench time this am to start on the roof and touchup the front of the Tractor build. Not sure about the rest of the day.

Have a great day!! Be well and stay safe.

Good morning from Wisconsin. The morning cool has returned as it is 17f degrees only heading to 30 this afternoon. A big back to seasonal temperatures after almost a week of 40's and. 50's.

The grandson is in Rhinelander, Wi playing a tournament this week end. 209 miles from home but in his mom's hometown area. We spent lots of time with her and her brother playing hockey or doing water ski competitions up in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. He plays at. 8am and 5:30pm today.

Terry and I will head to campus for game 2 of the Badger hockey women and Bemidji State. Just a 3-0 Badger win last night as the Badgers are still ranked #1 nationally. The Bemidji goalie played maybe one of the best games I've ever seen professionally and college over the years. She was unbelievably outstanding. That game could easily been a high score in the teens for the Badgers.

I have to clean up the train room before we leave for the game this afternoon. I have really let things go the last 2 weeks and I have various projects in different stages I need to organize. I have 7 diesels to add a final clear coat to and they are done. These are scheduled to ship 3/15. I started them in early February but I was not rushing but now I only need 30 minutes of work to finish the 7 off. Tomorrow I will check them, clean the wheels and test run them. Yesterday a project for a friend was delivered to him. 13 box cars and 1 tank car he gave me as fill in weathering projects. Models for weathering commissions are coming in fairly regularly now and so far I can comfortably schedule them in the 6-8 week delivery slot. I feel good to very good at times but I am not going to jeopardize my health recovery for weathering projects.

I am looking for a horn for a Rapido GE 44 Tom diesel. I have called and emailed Rapido and they are no help. It's for a SP  unit. If anyone can give me info on what type of horn those units used I would appreciate it.

Enjoy the day
TomO
