Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Larry.

Karl, glad you didn't get hurt on the sander issue.

Got rain during the night but no cold temp. to follow. I'm ready for Spring as I have lots of yard projects in mind.

Pam and I have bowling at noon and then late lunch with friends later.

I'm still on the bubble as to my next project. I need to get some stores built for Tahope and I have a scratch build of a signal tower in mind. The tower idea won't leave me alone.

Have a safe and happy day everyone.

Tom

Good morning everyone.

Carson City weather: Sunny, with a high near 76.

Karl, thanks for the coffee and have fun at the ops.

Larry, thanks for the pastry and hope you get a good deal on a generator.

Curt, hope you have a better time with the boiler today.

ACLTom, good luck bowling.

TomO, great news about Terry and hope she is doing even better today.
Hope you didn't have a big plumbing issue.

Jerry, any good progress at the bench?

Philip, you posted some very good signs including some Old Forrester ones which is one of my favorite bourbons.

Ron, do you think Red Bull will change drivers?

Mike, I hope you are doing well and making progress upstairs.

I spent a couple hours at the Nevada RR Museum.
They didn't have nearly the amount of equipment that the CA museum had, but what they did have was nice.
I shot some video and took a few pictures.
Gym, Costco, Walmart this morning then leaving here and making my way back towards the CA. coast.

There were two locomotives inside the main building.
This is the Glenbrook which is 36" gauge.

Good morning folks,

Karl, thanks for opening.   Have fun at the ops session.

Larry, thanks for the breakfast. Good luck with the generator.

Curt, good luck with the boiler.

TomACL, wishing you high scores on the lanes.

Jerry, looking forward to your photos.

Rick, good luck going to the coast.  Thanks for the photos of the museum.

How is the rest of the gang?

My cardiologist visit went well, so I'm happy about that. I've had a lot of 1:1 stuff to do over the last few days. My son and family are visiting from WA for spring break. I'm looking forward to a week of both kids being here.

I hope to get back to the bench today.  The layout has taken most of my time upstairs lately.  I have the boxcar on my bench to weather and a few more details to finish painting.

Have fun,
mike

Morning all, Another sunny day and armed with a paint can and brush touching up exterior windows.

Solved the chalk problem and thanks for the tips. Work continues on the details. The old forester prints wouldn't work Rick. Looking for some better examples for signs.

Great news Mike!

Glad the Ms. can see you coming Tom!

Later crew and have a great day.

Good morning Karl, Larry, Curt, ACLTom, Jerry, Rick, Mike, Greg, Philip and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and pastries Larry, hope you get a good deal on the generator, have fun at the bench.

Karl, Saws-all, the tool of mass destruction. ;D  Hope the layout work progresses well.

TomO, glad to hear that Terry's surgery went well.

Jerry, there are 24 F1 races this year, same as last year.

Curt, looking forward to the boiler pics.

ACLTom, enjoy the boiling and hopefully you'll take another 8 points today.

Rick, I think Lawson will get a couple more races and if he has no results by then, I can see a driver change.  Looking forward to the RR museum video.  I say the one about the mailcar, was very interesting hearing what went on in there, sounds like it was very busy.  Drive safely to the coast.

Mike, really glad the cardio visit went well.

Greg, enjoy your day.

Philip, great news about the chalk problem got rectified.

Currently 66F and cloudy here.  Wife mentioned last night that they got more of the white stuff, I tried to be sympathetic about it but I don't miss it one bit.  No modeling last night as I got distracted, we shall see what tonight brings.

Have a great day everyone.

For what it's worth, I think an Oscillating Saw is the perfect tool for benchwork and layout reconstruction:  https://www.popularwoodworking.com/review/best-oscillating-saw/  (Mine is a Rockwell...)

Once the wife is home, I'm heading out to photograph local architecture.  I'm on the hook for a clinic on that topic at the NMRA NER convention.  It's hazy sunshine, which should be good for architectural photography.

Good afternoon from Wisconsin. A nice clear sunny day after the gloominess and high winds of the last 4 days.

Terry's follow up this morning went super. The issue now is to try to keep her from doing too much too soon.

I have a number of weathering projects going. I'm not over doing it but by having cancelled my participation in 3 op sessions and most layout building sessions for March I have had more free time than I wanted. I filled that time at the bench and I am now reaping the rewards in what I've accomplished. Something I had not been doing was heading to the bench after dinner. That let me sort things that needed drying time instead of waiting till the next morning. Based on the project calendar I am a good 3 weeks ahead on both freight car weathering and diesel weathering. That's a good thing.

Enjoy the day

I totally agree, I have a cheapie from the Harbor, but...I can't find the tool to change blades to the saw...currently it has a triangle sander that won't help. Consequently the too big a tool gets pressed into play :o Stand back! Frustrated Train nut with power tools!!!  Get the band aids, remember the number to 911 is 9-1-1

Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, yogurt, bagels, OJ and soda.

Slow start today sitting drinking a cup of coffee listening to a skunk in the kitchen push a food bowl around thinking food will magically appear. ;D

Yesterday I finished the horizontal boiler except for weathering the concrete pad which I will today before starting on the hoist cable reel.

Rick great steamer photos yesterday.

Karl who is the guy in the photo that was taken?

I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning Curt,

Thanks for breakfast and the OJ.

Great photos Rick.

We only took 1 of 8 points yesterday. I averaged 192 for the three games but still lost the first games my 20 the second game by 11 and tied the third game. Four weeks of bowling left and I'm ready for the break.

Post Office run this morning and then I'm going to edge, rake and cut the grass.

Have a safe and happy day everyone.

Curt asked, "Karl who is the guy in the photo that was taken?" That is Joe Fugate from MRH using a GoPro camera.

Ops went well I ran 2 switch jobs and paired up to run two double headed steam trains on the South end of the railroad from the main yard to staging. True to proto ops, double headed steam has two engineers. No "consisting" it makes it easier to run different loco types together.

 8) Sunshine, clear skies and COLD (260) here in lower Mich, up at my place in the UP they had 4" of new snow, up to 10-11" farther North :o  The SOO locks and lake shipping started this week, some tough characters in that business this time of year

Fresh Maple coffee in the pot here this morning and oatmeal with fresh blueberries to warm the soul  :-*  Plans are vague this morning.

Be well all

Good morning folks,

Curt, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast. Good luck with the boiler.

TomACL, it is that time of year when outdoor duties outweigh indoor fun.  Good luck.

Karl, congrats on the fun operating session.  Isn't it time to warm up in the mitten?

How is the rest of the gang?

I am off on a 1:1 trip today.

Have fun,
mike

Good morning everyone.

Doyle, CA weather: Sunny, with a high near 74.

Curt, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
How many times a day do the skunks get fed.
Star gets three meals a day.

Mike, have fun on your 1:1 trip today.

ACLTom, sorry about the bad bowling day.

Karl, thanks for the second cup and that's a good looking layout you operated on.

TomO, good news on all that weathering.

Dave, get any good pictures?

Ron, the driver change happened much quicker and thanks for watching the video.

Philip, good luck finding better signs.

Greg, were you able to get some sunshine?

Larry, what's cooking?

Got some shopping done yesterday and then started my trek back towards the California coast.
Ended up at a trailhead in Doyle, CA for the night.
Star and I will do that trail later.
It's less than a mile long.
Wanted to visit Lassen NP but looking at the website I saw all the roads are still closed with s@#$.
So instead I think I'll make my way to Redwood NP.

One more engine at the Nevada RR Museum.
This one is standard gauge.
