Similar weather to Larry's, 510 with rain, tapering off for the mid day then Slight Risk of SEVERE STORMS mid afternoon thru the evening, top of 650 then a temp drop to 30s and 40s with schmutz by tomorrow.  The whoopee factor is thru the roof. ::)

The "Geek Squad" middle daughter, husb and couch potato 15yr old invited themselves over for the afternoon. Lump will sit on the couch with his game devise and earphones as the conversation meanders around.  :-\  :-X

Late afternoon time will be set aside for the next round of the hoops tourney, Go GREEN~ ;D  Might be a challenge, the Auburn crew was strong last round when they eliminated the A2 beavers... :-X

Work has continued on the layout, also researching construction of trestle bridges for a possible project to work on the first vie thru the door as you come under the slight Duck (under) Bridge...

That's it from the mitten.  Be well all, prayers to those on the recovery list.  Be safe all.

Good morning everyone.

Redwood NP weather: Rain before 2pm, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 2pm. Patchy fog between 8am and 2pm. High near 57.

Larry, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
Hope you have fun at the bench today.

Dale, safe travels and enjoy your trip.

Jerry, I'm sure you had fun with the grandkids.

Greg, hope you have another nice spring day today.

Karl, 1:1 projects done?

Ron, I'll look for your build update.

Philip, garden all planted?

Mike, enjoy your time with the family.

ACLTom, I'm sure there was some good BS'ing yesterday.

Curt, did you join in on the BS'ing?

TomO, any plans today?

It's raining yet again and will continue to till Wednesday.  :-\
Yesterday was nice and I did a 7.5 mile hike with 840' of climbing.
There's a canyon here called Fern Canyon.
A few scenes for Jurassic Park 2 were filmed there.
With the giant redwoods, ferns, mosses and numerous outer shrubs and bushes, it felt like a dinosaur might be seen when I rounded a corner hiking yesterday.
Driving a bit further north today to explore more of the park.
Weather will determine how much outside exploring I get to do.

I up loaded a video yesterday of my visit to the California State RR Museum in Sacramento.
Many excellent displays and a few surprises I wasn't expecting to see in the model layout area.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning folks,

Larry, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast.  Enjoy the terraforming.

Karl, good luck with the trestle hunt.

Rick, Fern Canyon sounds cool.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's a rainy day here, so looks like the planned outing to let Grandson go fishing may be off.  We had a fun evening yesterday, with good food, wine, and conversation.  Thanks to all the well-wishers.  It's great to be with the whole family.  We're having huevos rancheros and chorizo breakfast in a few minutes, so I need to get with it.

Have fun,
mike

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Larry, hope you get to work on your micro.

Karl, have fun with your visitors.

Rick, Will have to check out your video.

Mike, you know, you can go fishing in the rain ;) , not as much fun, but still can be done. ;D

Currently 69F and overcast with rain in the forecast, and they are not wrong.  Was overcast when I made my grocery run this morning as was pouring rain when I was done.  Laundry is now on to wash, oh the life of a bachelor.  I did get to the bench and completed added the details in the building, thought I was done and then realized I need at add the resisters to the LED's, then it is complete.  Will post an update later today.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast.

Jim Donavan, CEO and owner of Modeler's Forum, is in the middle and his wife Deb, AKA: The Boss, is obviously on the right.

Took Pam to Lowes this morning to get some spring plants and I got 2 60pd. bags of fert. for the yard. Guess what I'll be doing later this morning. And, we stopped at the grocery store to spend the rest of the money.

Curt and his dad stopped by yesterday and we had some BSing for sure.

I better get back to the yard work.

Have a safe and happy day everyone.

Speaking of 'fertilizer spreading,' will The Judge bless us with more of his stories?

Dave,

Maybe you should send him a PM, I've talked to him about the stories and he is undecided.

I think he got very discouraged when RR Lines shut down. He put a lot of work into his stories here, and then Jimmy shut it down. You know, twice burned and all that.

I have no idea what he will do.

A late check in to say hi. Rick the photo I posted shows Mr. Quigley moving some freight to truck. His son Sean was in my sister's class and he is the one that supplied the photo. In the background was a grain operation which has since closed. Hope you enjoyed a grat day hiking.

Today marks the end of the Winter Challenge. I will be getting with the judges to have them check out all the entries and provide the winners. Expect that to take a week. While I of course did not have an entry I did have a project I attempted to get completed during the challenge. I came close, I completed the major structures today. I will complete the build thread over the next couple of weeks but thought I'd share a couple of photos here. The buildings were made using 3D printer , laser cutter and a cricut type machine. None of the details like doors and windows were store bought.

We had a big one go through. All is fine here but Harned, KY 10 miles west of here had a touch down. Roads closed, homes and property destroyed. Vehicles  overturned and trapped people. A total mess we are hearing. Daybreak will reveal the story.

Calling for 10 inches of rain this week n one daycoming up. Oh boy..  2300hrs and still storming with lightning flashing constantly.
.
Hang in there Karl! We lucked out this time but the lights did go out for a moment.
