Howdy folks,

Larry, Curt, and Rick, thanks for the encouragement.

The sides are ready to assemble after I add the windows today.  The interior is stained with antique oak.

Ready for assembly.

I may add the grabs before assembly. Need to determine whether they would hamper assembly.

Have fun,
mike

Good afternoon,

Curt, Larry, and Jerry, thank you for following the build and supporting the process.

Work on the combine progresses slowly. It's competing with the oil derrick. The doors, window trim, and glazing are in place and ready for assembly.  I spent this morning making decals; however, after printing them on an inkjet and spraying them with clear flat, the decals blurred.  I need to do some research on alternative coatings.

Have fun,
mike

Rick

Colors look good and hope you find a solution for the decals.

Howdy folks,

Thanks, Rick, I'm still working on the decals...

Kyle, thank you, Sir.  I appreciate you following along.

I'm finally back to the combine with the derrick complete.  I didn't think it would take so long and wanted to devote my full energy to the derrick until it was completed.  As I've grown older, I've become less adept at multitasking.

The underframe is complete except for truss rods, trucks, and couplers.

The Mount Blue kit came with seats.

The sides and ends are glued together with the base roof in place and ready for the clerestory to be added.

The clerestory and its roof were glued in place.

The roofing is press-apply paper, which I painted black.  When it dries, I'll apply it to the roof base.

That's it for now.  The Mount Blue model is a nice kit that goes together well with no problems.

Have fun,
mike

Rick

Looking good Mike.
These kits do look very good.

A suggestion for weight:  Put strips of solder in between the undercarriage joists.

The part that tickled me was the fishing line truss rod. Was a simple yet brilliant design!

Are you having fun yet? ;D
