Howdy folks,

Curt, Rick, Jerry, Larry, Philip, Dave, Tom, and Kyle, thank you for your comments and support.

I am enjoying my time with my daughter's and son's families. Grandson has grown a ton, he is 13 and 5'9".  I wish they would stop feeding him.

While the gang was shopping today, I squeezed in a few hours upstairs.  I worked on both flat cars, so hope this isn't too confusing.

The deck was glued on the industrial flat from Morgan Hill.

The On30IMA flat received queen posts, truss rods, bolsters, and deck.

Deck ready for weathering.

Finally, I assembled the arch bar T-2 trucks for both models.

That's it for today.  Not sure I'll get more time upstairs, but you never know...

Have fun,
mike
My current builds are on the Buffalo Canyon Mining Company's wooden Howe Truss Bridge, and miscellaneous rolling stock .

Thanks for posting your detailed work, Mike, I'm following along closely.  I read through twice but couldn't see if you mentioned it, and pardon me if you did, but what trucks are these?  Are they Tichy with bigger wheelsets?  Thanks in advance, Mark.

Howdy folks,

Kyle, thank you for your kind words.  I try.

I finished the flat cars except for brake wheels, decals, and final weathering.  I need to get on the ball and make the decals...

Here's the simple industrial flat,

and here's the regular flat.

Still waiting for the brake wheel...

Both kits were fun to build, and if you can find one, build it.

What's next?  I think I'll work on the layout a bit and maybe start a stock or tank car.

Have fun,
mike

I'd be inclined to add stake pockets to the industrial flat, too.  But the coloring looks spot on, and I think the dirty brown undercarriages look appropriate.

Well done, Mike.  Very nice construction, paint and weathering.
