This isn't a kit, but I didn't build the walls either. The walls were given to me by a mate, Grant McAdam, who scratchbuilt the moulds and then made some plaster castings.
The original design is by Tom Yorke from his Frijole Flats books.

So this is Grants large version.

He also gave some walls to another mate, Peter Kendall, who rearranged them to also use the back wall as a front on his Sri Lankan On18 layout.

I didn't get a full set of walls. And also I had decided to only do it as a single story structure, so had to cut and modify the walls for what I wanted.

So here is what I was given.

Then cut the walls horizontally in half.

So used the top half as the new front, and the bottom half as the right side wall

Then scratchuilt all the windows from styrene

Painted the walls and also painted the windows and installed them. Cut & enlarged the bottom of the door opening and made a door from stir sticks.  And also added some extra depth to the bottom of the front using card.

Rick

Rob, as usual you did a great job on this build.

Howdy Rob,

Those are some nice castings.  Congrats on the gift.

Excellent one-story modification and the colors look perfect for the structure.  The new bottom on the front frames the structure well.

Have fun,
mike

Undetectable surgery on those plaster castings, can I ask how you did that?

Rob that's some nice cutting and painting.  Love those colors.

Thanks Rick Mike & Jerry.

Thanks Mark.  The walls are about 8mm thick, so I Just used a utility knife (box cutter).
I scored the front and back several times, then just gave it a tap and it broke with a clean cut.
However, later on when I stood them up, to see how they looked, the front one fell over and cracked. A fairly clean beak, so I just glued it back together. Just a bit more character I guess, as the walls already had crack lines carved in anyhow. The plaster is not something I'd normally work in again.

Rob,

Those are some nice castings, it you didn't say that you modified the wall I would have never known.

Well done.

Thanks Ron & Philip.  Yep, I was lucky to get such nice castings.
Grant is a superb modeler & scratchbuilder of O scale structures.
He does a diorama demo/exhibition at most of the train shows here in Victoria.
Probably 10 a year.
He paired up with Laurie Green for most of them, before Laurie's passing.

I'll be doing a couple of shows with him this year.

Here's how the right side wall came out.  Notice I have cut off the left-hand column, and it will be used elsewhere.

And here is the left side wall, with the left over column being re-used here.
Also added the runners for the sliding door, made from styrene.

Column attached, and a sliding door made from stir sticks, with grain carved in.
The door hangers I made from styrene.
Still need to paint the exposed stonework.

So here are three walls

Looking terrific, Rob.

Beautiful decorations above the door.  Your one storied version is very cool.  Paint colours are spot on.

Cheers, Mark.

Rob,

Fantastic kit bash with the spare walls. Colors just seem to go with the structure.

Thanks Mark & Tom.  I'm happy with the colour choices.
Whilst the green & red are normally bright, I've used muted tones for these.
Still more colourful that what the US would use.
