Good Morning Folks;

Looks like a late opening to the clubhouse. I am already on my second cup of coffee but for some reason moving slow today. We are suppose to get a change in the weather today with storms this afternoon. I saw morning news and they showed MN, cold and snow. Anyhow for those following the winter challenge this is the last month. I need to catch up to all the builds but I will tell you some really fine modeling has gone into this years structures! Impressive.

So yesterday's photo was sugar cane, who knew. Today's looks pretty cool, enjoy.

It was above freezing all night, which helped reduce the snowpack.  A couple times we heard crashes as snow slid off the roof.  Up to 53 today with showers, same for tomorrow.

More work on the Ambroid car today, plus I worked an old styrene baggage car (Model Power). I replaced the cast-on truss rods with mono, that made a big difference.  Replacement wheelsets are due today or tomorrow (this had metal wheels with HUGE deep flanges.)  It's a baggage-RPO, I ordered bag catcher castings for it yesterday.

For colors, I'm more-or-less following Colorado Midland practice, in part because it's so well documented in the great book by the Hundhausen family (father & son).  Maroon/Tuscan for baggage cars, Yellow Ochre with Red trim for 2nd class cars.  Probably a chocolate brown for 1st class cars, but I'm still thinking about that.

Good morning, all.  I can't see your picture, Jim.

We have rain coming this afternoon, but our temps are mild down here.  We're going for a walk then a trip to Costco this morning.  This afternoon, I'm going to the VA to get new hearing aids.  That's my exciting, retired lifestyle.

Good morning everyone.

Soledad weather: Rain

Jim, thanks for the second cup.

Heading back towards the coast today near Big Sur.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning, all.  Dave gave my weather. Morning chores included cleaning out some nest boxes in the chicken coop.  Now browsing the forum and talking to someone about the coming year's Seashore projects.  After that, I have a list of layout jobs.

480 soon to hit 500 the warmest morning this year. We had rain all night. The is an occasional peek of sun at the moment 8) Blizzard conditions in the UP ;)

I am with the Doll in nearby Ionia where she's having fasting labs then a mammogram  :o hopefully get some grub sometime soon.

Back home I'll work on the layout more today.

I got one of the latest scam text messages yesterday. Apparently I didn't pay a road toll somewhere  :o  only toll we have is THE Bridge and we've not been there in months and always pay cash. Probably some areas have more toll roads some might think they owe?  ::)

That's it for me. Be well all

Morning! It looks like a Model TT truck and a fine one!

Same here Jim this crazy weather makes my bones ache plus I get seasonal vertigo.

More model building in the basement today as the rain and wind continues.

Have a great day all!

Morning all.

31 degrees and snowing quite heavily here.   The elliptical delivery people have already cancelled and I don't think we'll be going to PT later today.

No way I'll complete the challenge build this month.  Maybe by next year.   ::)

Cool picture this morning.

Morning all,

I'm hoping we get some rain today. Something to wash away the pollen. It's driving my wife and I nuts.

Hope to get back to the second background flat this afternoon.

Have a great one!

Mornin,' All!

47, headed for 49 and the grey blanket is trying to make up its mind here in the northern mitten today.  Rain has stopped for now, so it's looking like time to load out for the recycling center and get some much needed room in the house.  This afternoon's festivities include more rain, off and on, and then, naturally, showers turning to rain and then flash freezing and WGFA, mostly because we have an Op Session tonight at a place where the driveway is even more of a cultural experience than is mine, and it ends at the road at the base of the hill, with a tree located smack in the middle of the road....  Op Session is gonna be worth it...  the under-construction railroad is eye candy through and through.

Make it a great day, All, and stay safe!

Good morning folks

A much nicer day in Cheyenne today. Currently 36 with only light winds and clear blue sky. Shooting for mid 40s. Not bad for early March.

Morning all,

Jim I'll take a second cup of coffee. Nice photo and hope you find some energy.

It's 50 and light rain with a high of 55 in New York. The driveway is now an exercise
to see if you can remain vertical as you walk. Going to have to throw down some salt
when the rain stops.

Have a great day!!

Bonsoir!  The after-supper whiskies, should you imbibe, are on my cuff.  I've got Glengoyne 10 (the closest thing the Scots make to an Irish), and Glen Scotia 15 (you can really taste the salt).  For our abstainers, I have a pot of Royal Navy kye on the hob.

Finally made it to my closest hobby shop after work to buy basic and not-so-basic acrylic paints, paintbrushes, a cutting mat, glue, and other handy little marvels.  Last time I was there, thirty-odd years ago, they had some basic train stuff.  Now?  Not a sausage.  Oh, they stock Woodland Scenics and other landscape materials, some of them quite interesting (Wee hussock-tufts!  Some pretty nice trees priced ten times dearer than fresh asparagus!) but they're clearly catering to tabletop wargaming and military model diorama builders, these days.  Machts nichts.  I won't and don't hold it against them.  They had loads of different paints and surface finishes, a small forest of brushes, and a concise but comprehensive shelf of glues.  I finally have what I think I need to start one of my kits this weekend.  Probably going to be the Thomas Yorke Rubbles Depot.  I've only been waiting three hundred years to take a bash at the thing.

Sacrifice a chicken or two for me, please.  It's been a while.
