Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, Amish pastry, yogurt, OJ and soda.

After errands I got home yesterday to discover that Dad's toliet was constantly draining water through the drain pipe in the tank. Of course Dad couldn't hear it. :o After a trip to get the parts to replace the mechanism I fixed it with no leaks. Later Dad wanted to have the bowl fill more so I adjusted it but either I cracked the shaft or loosened the seal and the connection under the tank started dripping. >:(  So, that's a project for today again.

I also need to load the van for MOH's trip tomorrow while she takes 2 rescues to the vet today for medical issues. She won't be home until evening.

Thursday Dad has a morning VA appointment and afterwards I'm meeting Tom to get another pack of marker lights. Tom called me yesterday and made his very generous offer to me.

Well I got things to do.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning,

Curt thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Hope you get things straightened out today; sounds like you're very busy.

What's going on today?

It's a sunny 45 with a high of 75 in New York. The Contractor started on the back roof yesterday and gave me not very good news. The long and  short of it is the guy before him that put metal on the roof didn't do it correctly so now the thing has to be stripped to the rafters with all new plywood down along with all new metal added. The only saving grace is at least THIS time I know it'll be done correctly. Can you say $$$$$$.
Also need to see a Doc today about an unexplained rash on my one leg.....getting older sucks!!

Have a great day!! Be well and stay safe.

8) Sun and fun in Michigan this morning, supposedly the tree trimmers are coming today, a group of pines are suffering from some pest and dying. :'(  Trying to stem that as pines are a defining feature here.  $$$  Cat to the vet yesterday $$$, wife to the dentist today $$$.  Change in the air, all that stuff leaves me with change.  It's still 10 days until the eaglette lands. :-[

I tinkered with the static grass device yesterday, will see how that came out today.  Sure is messy.  I had a pair of acrylic sweat pants on...what the FLOCK?  :o

Another fine foto, Rick.  The water looks calm.

Larry that roof deal really is a shame.  I hope they can fix you up in a reasonable manner.

Enjoy the day everyone.

Good morning to all! 45 now heading to 75 later and shorts weather will continue for maybe the next 10 days. Last week the WeatherChannel app and the media guessers on TV were saying we wouldn't be seeing 70's in the forecast. This will be day 2 of 70's.

Looks like the hurricane to hit Hawaii will stay east of Maui for sure. Terry said yesterday you could really feel the relief of the locals. But it could veer so they were still watching it.

Wasn't there a time when hurricanes in the Pacific were called cyclones and only Atlantic storms made it to a hurricane? Too lazy to look it up

A possible last minute work session today but he was unsure last night. I'm waiting for a text message to confirm

Volleyball on the UW campus tonight with backup partner #1. The Badger ladies have moved from #8 to #6 in the rankings this week. Means nothing to me but it is a recruiting tool.

We are eagerly waiting for Badger hockey to start. Terry and I though have decided we will not chase the college game this season. No out of town trips this season. Instead starting the 30th of October we will chase the NHL Chicago Black Hawks in Winnipeg, then we will follow when they visit Edmonton, Seattle, Vancouver and Calgary before we come back to Wisconsin. 2 nights in each city. They finish the road trip in Detroit but we have seen them in Detroit before! If the weather is decent we should have a great time.

Be well

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Curt, much appreciate the spread.

Tom, you are correct!

Larry, you are correct in that getting older isn't for sissies or the faint of heart. I've had more issues and Dr. visits in the past 10 years than I did in my first 69 years. Also, sorry about the roof $$$$$.

Pam and I have bowling at noon and then late lunch/early dinner with friends.

I hope to have another scenery update later this afternoon. If not, tomorrow.

I'm ready for some cold weather. It gets my modeling juices flowing at a faster rate.

Have a safe and healthy day everyone.

Karl when we lived up north in North Central Wisconsin the house was on an old pine tree plantation. The pine beetle came roaming through in about 1998 and devastated the pines between our driveway openings and we lost almost 2 acres of pine trees. The house formerly hidden from view now was wide open to the street. Never did get used to that before we moved years later. Good move to get rid of them

Kinda depressing reading today, a set of significant annoyances and problems.

The good news here is the weather, it's definitely fall.  It got down to 45 last night.  More pick-up/put-away, plus getting stuff together for my talks in Concord on Friday.

Good morning Curt, Larry, Karl, TomO, ACLTom, Dave and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Curt, the toilet issue sucks plus it sounds like you have a very busy day today.  Hope it goes well for you.

Larry, the roof news suck, but at least it was found out before you start ed having leaks.

Karl, let me guess, you got more static grass on you than on the layout. ;D

TomO, The hockey chase sounds interesting and fun.

ACLTom, have fun bowling with Pam and enjoy dinner.

Dave, have fun with the clean-up.

Currently 8c (46f) and sunny, fall is definitely here now, it least it gets warmer in the afternoon.  Finished adding the cross braces to the pile bent last night and posted an update.  Last thing to do is it add the remaining NBW castings and then it is done.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning folks,

Curt, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast.  Good luck with the repairs.

Larry, what a pain with the back roof.  Good luck with the redo.  You might want to stock up on groceries, too.  You know, pinto beans and cornmeal...

Karl, what the flock?  Sounds like you need to stock up on beans and cornmeal, too.

TomO, sounds like a busy fall on the sports road.  Have fun.

TomACL, good luck on the lanes. More time for modeling in the cooler months.

Dave, seems like we all have put up and put away times.

Ron, congrats on the bent progress.  i was wondering how the NBW work is going.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's a bright morning with a forecast of 81°F.  Tonight is the lodge.  This morning I'm headed to wash the car, buy peaches, and stock up on spirits.

Have fun,
mike

Thanks Ron! The chase should be fun. We have not done a NHL trip since retirement started in 2014. We've been following the Badger hockey teams instead. Terry's not a NHL fan but does love hockey. We had thought about an eastern swing but the only 2 games were Ottawa and Toronto in December but also included some US cities that we have been to. The plan since we both feel healthy again is to travel in decent weather. December in Eastern Canada or the US anything as you well know can happen
