Good Morning,

Tom thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Have fun with the boys and I bet Ron will
fit right in. Bs'ing galore!!!!

Curt have fun with the boys today and say hi to Ron. looking forward to seeing your
fine looking diorama in the display case.

Rick thanks for the second round of breakfast. Safe travels North. The scenery is coming along and I did receive a couple of items yesterday.

Karl good luck with the porch; maybe use a real contractor....I personally don't trust anyone from these "big time" outfits. Whatever switch machines works for you is what's important. That photo will cool anyone off!

What's your plans for the day.

It's a rainy 68 with a high of 78 in New York; looks like a bench kind of day. Staying out of town this weekend since it's the annual "Oz Fest" going on. Frank L Baum was born here but moved away at the age of 2. It's kinda sad this is the town's only "claim to fame."

Have an enjoyable day!! Be well, safe travels, and stay cool.

Morning all from Northern Command (Thousand Islands). Third time up after opening camp a few weeks ago.

Talking about rain, we went through quite a bit through Syracuse heading north on I-81 yesterday. If nothing else the boat and truck got a good wash.

Small jobs to do for the day.

Stay well and safe.

Great pair of photos from Rick and Karl.

Down to the train room in a bit, after a session on the exercise machine.  If I get frustrated with the pipe threader, I'll try to cut down the stainless steel sheet into 3/16 squares.  Plan is to install the right blade on the bandsaw, CA the thin steel to sacrificial wood, make the cuts, then melt the CA in acetone.

Dave, how thick is the stainless? I'd try aircraft metal snips, tinsnips or even a paper cutter before I'd go to the bandsaw.

Good morning folks,

Tom, thanks for opening, the coffee and breakfast. Wishing you loads of fun at the SBG.

Rick, the photo is amazing.  Good luck with the cooler climes.

Curt, congrats on the new cart for your Dad.

Karl, terrific photo.  I like KCCTs, too.

Larry, it does sound like a bench kind of day, Enjoy!

Good morning Philip.

Bernd, stay dry and enjoy the day.

Dave, good luck with the stainless sheet.

James, have a good one.

How goes the rest of the crew?

It's a bright morning in Texas.  The forecast is for 95F.  I burned my hands on the steering wheel yesterday afternoon.  I had forgotten how hot it gets here.

Yesterday I operated trains at a friend's house, then visited Discount Model Trains in Dallas.  The traffic was far worse than I remember, but the hobby shop visit made up for it.  Today I plan to spend at the Texas Western running trains, telling lies, and having fun with my old friends.

Have fun,
mike

That's me on the right.

It's quite thin, 24 gauge or 0.5 mm, but I want to keep the pieces flat.  Snips would cause it to curl.  It's probably too thick for a paper cutter, but maybe I should try that first.   I think I have a conventional paper cutter somewhere.  (I know I have a rotary cutter, but that won't work, this stuff is too hard.)

I wanted something thin, flat -and magnetic-.  Lots of options for non-magnetic stainless...
