Nice photo and short video, Rick.  Safe travels!

Brakes rarely need replacing on EVs (despite their being heavier than similar gas cars), but the wiper blades wear out just as fast.   ;D  My friends with EVs verify that the maintenance costs are significantly less.

Ron, congrats to heading back to the Homeland.   Mike, safe travels.

Morning everyone

Curt thanks for the coffee & breakfast.
Same question as Rick it's going on the layout?

Tom glad your feeling better.

Rick nice picture I'll watch the video in a few minutes.

Larry sorry to hear of the repair work and the expense but now you can stop!!

Karl have a nice day doing inside stuff.

Mike safe travels.

Morning Dave.

I guess my post yesterday is somewhere in the forgotten land.
Weather in sOuth Jersey sunny/75.  Later on 87.
If you need me I'll be at the beach.
Hopefully tonight I'll get in an hour of bench time.

Everyone have a wonderful day!!  :)

Good morning from the city of Lost Wages. 74f degrees now heading to 92. Flood watch is in effect from rains that fell about 100 miles from here!

Rick, Vegas is fine! Too busy, too hot and surprisingly expensive. Granted we are not visiting the strip but I've never ever given the thought of living here. Neither of us have that thought. We both realize there is more to do for us in Arizona and California than Vegas.

Dinner will be out tonight as the whole household is getting antsy. The brother and the PT practiced yesterday with his walker so he doesn't fall on his backside tonight. He learned the best ways to maneuver it! He will not use a wheelchair! I will drive the brother to his doctor this afternoon for a check up. Along with the PT's opinion I think he's doing great. Depending on what the doc today says Terry and I are thinking of heading home. Maybe Saturday but there is no rush other than the boredom creeping in. I was able to help the brother adapt and the g/f has become more helpful.

There has been no modeling (I am starting to crave an airbrush) but reading the books I purchased while in Pasadena. I've been spending 1 hour per day hitting golf balls on the simulator. I'm not gaining strength though. Some pool time and not much internet time.

The son is flying in a charter group tomorrow so will spend Thursday night here. He is bringing his girlfriend so they will liven up the old folks home.

Safe travels to the travelers. Get well to those suffering various things. I've been catching up but still need some more

Enjoy your day
TomO

Philip

Good morning and another concrete day. Will finish finally.

Have a great trip Mike. Tom O, I'd prefer a walker vs the chair. God Speed to your Brother.

Jerry, I normally fail to hit post. That's me tho... ;)

Itchin to model but the 1:1 stuff claims the day.

Have a great Wednesday!

Larry C

Back Again,

Karl hoped you don't get smoked out too bad. Nice to hear the Doll's spirts were lifted.

Mike safe travels to Texas.

Dave this is only the second set of brakes I've had to replace in 7 years; but the bill still stung.

Jerry yes stopping is good. Have fun at the beach.

Tom O glad to hear your Brother is coming along. Has to be tough and boring living in someone else's house; hope you're able to go back home soon.

The one thing I forgot to mention earlier, senior moment, for those following my blog I have posted another chapter and written about 4 more to try and stay ahead.

Philip hope the concrete is a wrap today but the modeling will still be there when you get to it.

Safe travels and enjoy your day.

Good afternoon everyone,

Currently 84F and cloudy with rain in the forecast.

As mentioned in my last post the drugstore is complete so that makes all the buildings in the town area finished.  before I can plant them I need to finish the sidewalks.  I worked on them a bit last night so we shall see how much gets completed tonight.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, bagels, some kind of pastry, OJ, and soda.

Slept well last night. ;D  Yesterday I cleaned up the train room except for the skunk hair that is never-ending. One sleeps in the closet (curtain door) and another sleeps under the layout.

Today I'll mount the diorama on the wall. A couple of people have asked about it not going on the layout. There are 3 reasons, one, it is really a On30 looking design, two, I tried placing a HO (my scale) hopper under the dispenser chutes and the car sides are too tall, and lastly it would mean removing something currently on the layout. Don't get me wrong I love the looks and I loved building it.

Well, I've blathered on long enough.

Safe travels Mike and TomO.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning everyone.

Boise, ID weather: Sunny, with a high near 83.Curt, thanks for the coffee and bagel.
Dog hair in the van is a never ending battle.

Ron, hope you didn't have to work late yesterday.

Philip, all done with the 1:1 stuff? (for now  :) )

TomO, glad your brother is doing well.

Jerry, is the beach crowded yet?

Dave, makes sense that EV's need less maintenance sine there are far fewer moving parts.
I still wouldn't own one.  :)

Mike, safe travels.

Karl, ouch on the dental costs.

Larry, car maintenance is a necessary evil.

ACLTom, glad the legs are doing well.

Greg, Dale and everyone else looking in, hope you are doing well.

Made it to Idaho.
Lost an hour crossing the time zone.
I'm parked at a Cracker Barrel and I'll have my breakfast there.
Then I'll head to Kuna for a couple of days.

Strawberry Lake taken on Tuesday's hike.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning,

Curt thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Nice to hear you slept well; always a plus. Nothing wrong
with having a diorama or two besides a layout.

Rick glad you made it to Idaho ok; maybe some Taters while you're there. You and Curt talk about pet hair;
I think Mr. B's shed enough this spring to make a coat from all the hair. His belly fur was so matted the Vet shaved his whole underside; said it was an age thing since he'll be 15 this summer. Wow!! that water looks like a sheet of glass; gorgeous.

What's on your to do list.

It's a sunny, for now, 69 with a high of 85 in New York. Calling for scattered storms this afternoon and tomorrow so fingers crossed the power stays on. After I get the Buick inspected it may be time to look into a backup power source of some kind; of course it won't be cheap. Today is going to be a rest day after 3 days of bending and painting; my lower back is barking. Bench time??

Have a great day!! Stay safe and be well.

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Curt. I'll just have some nice cold OJ this morning, not very hungry.

Well, unlike Curt, I slept like crap last night. Fish out of water night flip flopping all over and couldn't get settled. Legs are doing fine and should get the results early next week to see what needs to be done. Cut it out or burn it off.  :-X

Time to edge and cut the grass this morning prior to the heavy rain predicted later this afternoon. I should sleep well tonight.

Pam and I are going out for date night late this afternoon at our favorite steak house.

Have a safe and healthy day everyone.

Rick beautiful scene. I totally get about dog hair in the van.

Larry I forgot to mention a great new adventure in your blog.

Tom I hope you sleep better tonight. Drink lots of water. The humidity is already bad.

Well, an advantage of poodle/poodle mixes is much less dog hair.  In exchange, you have to pay monthly for grooming.  A neighbor's son has a German Shorthair Pointer, we met that dog yesterday.  That's the kind of dog I grew up with.  Those short hairs got everywhere!

Today's plan is to futz with the parts that arrived yesterday on my scratchbuilt pipe threader.

Good morning Curt, Rick, Larry, ACLTom, Dave and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and bagel Curt.

Going to keep it short today as it's meeting day.  It's currently 76F and cloudy with chance of rain today (30%) according to the weather app.  Finished up the sidewalks last night, I posted an update to my Henderson thread.  Tonight's plan is to install them.

Have a great day everyone.

Yesterday's all day SOAK has ended but at 600 it is still cooler.  Going back to mid 70s this afternoon.  Our smoke has let up but just a couple of ties of counties to our North the smake is in DANGEROUS levels  :o

I have some bench stuff to do today.  Decaled and clear coated an old DL-109 and the clear coat acted as krinkle coat on the fireman's side of the body >:( what a schmidt storm... :-X
IMG_2108.jpeg

Photo posted earlier today but it disappeared

As plans are for it to be a beater anyhow, I'll have to wet sand the mess and hopefully save it.  I'm tired of messing with it.  I use the unit now w/out a shell as power for my CMX track cleaner.

Other projects abound today, too.  Too wet outside for anything.

Been playing phone tag with my AAA insurance folks for 3 days, about to cancel and move on to different coverage.  They had a nice friendly walk in and chat office when we signed up.  Now they are layers deep into a phone tree and "leave a message and I'll call back if I get a moment..." welded the phone to my hip pocket all day... :-[ Current issue is some sort of change with my home owners.  Canceling current policy at end of July then offering something 'new and different' before that.  I don't understand their information.  With plans to be gone the monthof July I'd really like to get it set before then as comms are primitive up there.

Enough for now, later guys.

Rick, I've seen that Post Card before somewhere... ;)
