Good Morning,

Tom thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Have fun with the boys and I bet Ron will
fit right in. Bs'ing galore!!!!

Curt have fun with the boys today and say hi to Ron. looking forward to seeing your
fine looking diorama in the display case.

Rick thanks for the second round of breakfast. Safe travels North. The scenery is coming along and I did receive a couple of items yesterday.

Karl good luck with the porch; maybe use a real contractor....I personally don't trust anyone from these "big time" outfits. Whatever switch machines works for you is what's important. That photo will cool anyone off!

What's your plans for the day.

It's a rainy 68 with a high of 78 in New York; looks like a bench kind of day. Staying out of town this weekend since it's the annual "Oz Fest" going on. Frank L Baum was born here but moved away at the age of 2. It's kinda sad this is the town's only "claim to fame."

Have an enjoyable day!! Be well, safe travels, and stay cool.

Morning all from Northern Command (Thousand Islands). Third time up after opening camp a few weeks ago.

Talking about rain, we went through quite a bit through Syracuse heading north on I-81 yesterday. If nothing else the boat and truck got a good wash.

Small jobs to do for the day.

Stay well and safe.

Great pair of photos from Rick and Karl.

Down to the train room in a bit, after a session on the exercise machine.  If I get frustrated with the pipe threader, I'll try to cut down the stainless steel sheet into 3/16 squares.  Plan is to install the right blade on the bandsaw, CA the thin steel to sacrificial wood, make the cuts, then melt the CA in acetone.

Dave, how thick is the stainless? I'd try aircraft metal snips, tinsnips or even a paper cutter before I'd go to the bandsaw.

Good morning folks,

Tom, thanks for opening, the coffee and breakfast. Wishing you loads of fun at the SBG.

Rick, the photo is amazing.  Good luck with the cooler climes.

Curt, congrats on the new cart for your Dad.

Karl, terrific photo.  I like KCCTs, too.

Larry, it does sound like a bench kind of day, Enjoy!

Good morning Philip.

Bernd, stay dry and enjoy the day.

Dave, good luck with the stainless sheet.

James, have a good one.

How goes the rest of the crew?

It's a bright morning in Texas.  The forecast is for 95F.  I burned my hands on the steering wheel yesterday afternoon.  I had forgotten how hot it gets here.

Yesterday I operated trains at a friend's house, then visited Discount Model Trains in Dallas.  The traffic was far worse than I remember, but the hobby shop visit made up for it.  Today I plan to spend at the Texas Western running trains, telling lies, and having fun with my old friends.

Have fun,
mike

That's me on the right.

My current build is the Layout scenery and miscellaneous rolling stock .

It's quite thin, 24 gauge or 0.5 mm, but I want to keep the pieces flat.  Snips would cause it to curl.  It's probably too thick for a paper cutter, but maybe I should try that first.   I think I have a conventional paper cutter somewhere.  (I know I have a rotary cutter, but that won't work, this stuff is too hard.)

I wanted something thin, flat -and magnetic-.  Lots of options for non-magnetic stainless...

Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, bagels, yogurt, OJ, and soda.

Started out the day with a walk at 76F and high humidity. Yesterday was an outstanding SBG with John and Ron there. I think Ron is sad that he will miss a full FL summer! ;D

Today after chores I plan on building the display case then I'll take a photo.

Mike nice seeing a photo of you.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning Curt and others,

Thanks for breakfast Curt. Pam fixed me a thick waffle with strawberry and cool ship.

We had a great time yesterday with the Saturday Butty Group. It was also great to meet Ron and spend several hours talking to him. He fits right in with the BSing. We voted with members present to accept Ron as an honorary member of the SBGs., He accepted.  Now Ron and Rick are both honorary members of the group. Ron is going back to Ontario on Tuesday so it was great we were able to get together with him. He got a couple small gifts to remember the SBGs.

We missed Reading Bob as he and Eileen were off to a European River Cruise.

Have a safe and healthy day everyone.

Good morning everyone.

Cascade, ID weather: Sunny, with a high near 79.

Curt, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
I'm interested in seeing that display case.

ACLTom, thanks for the great group shot.
It's nice to put faces with names that I didn't get to meet.

Jerry, I got Diane's message yesterday but I don't have cell service to reply.
Please tell her I got the message and thank you very much.
Give her a hug for me too.

Mike, thanks for the nice picture and that looks like a very nice layout.

Dave, I'm sure you'll get the pipe threader the way you want it.

Bernd, nice to see you here.

Philip, how are you?

Larry, I'd stay away from the crowds in town too.

Karl, Brrrr, but still a very nice picture.  :)
Good luck with the porch.

Ron, looks like you had a great time yesterday.

TomO, Greg and everyone else looking in, what's new?

Definitely cooler up here in the higher elevation.
Today's plan is to go hiking.

One of my neighbors at the Kuna campsite I stayed at.

Morning Gents,

Curt thanks for the coffee and breakfast this morning. Nice you guys had such a great time yesterday. Looking forward to the display case.

Tom great photo; nice to put faces to some of the names here on the forum. I thought Ron would fit right in with you guys and it's great you made him an "honorary member".

Rick nice you have cooler temps. I was gonna suggest you get your shocks checked for the lean. Beautiful photo by the way. Looks like the critter is keeping an eye on you. Yes after working with the public for almost 50 years I avoid crowds at all costs.

What's going on in your world.

It's a sunny 58 with a high of 78 in New York. Being that it's Sunday and all I'll probably start mowing the lawn after 11 am now that the grass is dried out. I've pretty much finished the Wheel Wright build so I'll post some photos soon.

Have a great day!! Be well.

TomO/Tloc

Hello. I've tried posting the last 3 days but I hit the post button and off into the internet world it goes.

Still in the desert city called Las Vegas. It's 80f degrees now at 6:20am local and 106 this afternoon is predicted. We had a great day yesterday and around 8pm the brother said he'll be getting up late this morning and will wait till the PT at 10am for his 1st exercise. He's grinning this morning so I think he's fine.

The debate is do we head home maybe Tuesday/Wednesday or stay? The brother asked us to stay even though he is needing us less. I have to be home on 6/20 for a promise I need to keep on 6/21.

Tomorrow is step forward, not graduation day for both the 8th grade granddaughter going to high school and the grandson moving from elementary school 5th grade to middle school 6th grade. We will watch both ceremonies live on a live stream.

Later this morning we are going to check out Summerlin. Higher in elevation it should be cooler. Like the Southern Highlands community we are in now Summerlin is still part of the city of Las Vegas.

Enjoy the day
TomO
