Happy Friday the 13th!  Watch out for black cats underfoot!  (Watch out for -any cat- under foot...)

It's cooled off a bit after yesterday.  There was a rare Thursday evening meeting of the neighborhood Scotch Club, the Laird o'the Malts had a visitor who joined us.  Attendance was pretty good, particularly for a weekday night.

After the cleaners leave this morning, I'll do some work planning the belt shafts.  I've asked a couple people for advice on that, including Bernie Kempinski who just completed a fantastic O scale machine shop project, and on a machine tools forum in their antique/restoration thread.  But to make real progress, I'll have to determine the final tool layout on the floor, so I know where to put the pulleys on the shafts.

Good morning everyone.

Twin Falls weather: Sunny, with a high near 86.

Curt, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
Beautiful photo.

Dave, have with the belt shafts.
I'll never own a PC again, so I won't need Microsoft.
Never had an issue with my Photoshop software so Adobe for now is fine with me.

Larry, hope you find some bench time.

Greg, hope you won the fight.

Ron, fishing trip sounds fun.

Philip, the weeds always win.

Jerry, did you get some good shots?

ACLTom, did you make good progress on the garage?

Mike and TomO, how's the traveling?

Karl, what are you up to?

Lazy day yesterday.
Found a great place to spend the night, but took a while to find it because of wrong GPS coordinates posted on the app that I use.  >:(
Jerry's wife, Diane, was very nice in providing a long list of waterfalls to visit while here in Idaho.
There are quite a few in the Great Falls area and I'll visit some today.

This was last nights sunset here in Glenns Ferry.

Dave there's a completely black cat in our neighborhood that I see frequently when I walk in the morning. Sometimes it follows me around for a short distance.

Rick beautiful sunset.

Good morning from home in Wisconsin. 59f degrees heading to 76. Should be a glorious day with the humidity in the low 40% range. Around 10am I am going to work with the grandson on how I want MY grass cut. I don't like the looks of how the SIL has the grandson cutting it. Hey it's my lawns, I can be fussy, he does get paid!

The brother received permission from his doctor to fly provided he move around and not just sit for the 3 hour flight home. Got home Wednesday night. Thursday the brother attended a board meeting of a company in Madison he is on the board of. He is here at least until Monday and we'll see what I will do. Terry is still in California today heading back with my sister and the brother's girlfriend to Nevada on Saturday.

This morning I am making signs for NO KINGS in the USA for rallies tomorrow. The last protest I watched was August 1968 in Grant Park Chicago. I still have the knot in my shoulder where the police officer blindsided me with a baton. I was 15 years old, watching! There are 4 rallies and marches in the Madison area at different times and lengths tomorrow but I will avoid the massively predicted big one on Campus that will march to the Capital. Just too many odd balls will show up for that one. No I AM NOT BEING PAID BY ANY ORGANIZATION to march

enjoy the day

Morning everyone

Curt thanks for the breakfast & coffee.
Nice picture Curt.

Larry now you'll be able to see all those little parts!

Dave I'll have to take a look at Bernie's machine shop.

I'll tell Diane Rick.
Nice picture but strange looking one legged birds there!!  ;D

TomO glad to hear the brother is getting along better.

Weather in South Jersey sunny/75. Later 77.
Two of the grandkids are coming down later to stay the weekend.
Not sure what is planned for the day.
Maybe a little bench time before the kids get here.
Plus I have to do the Prom pictures.

Everyone have a great day!!   :)

Morning all,

Pam took me to breakfast this morning at IHOP. Senior Special with two pancakes.

Rick, I did get a lot done on the garage but was to lazy to do an update. I'll do an update later this afternoon.

I put off edging a cutting the grass until Sunday. It needs it now but waiting will give me two extra days next week to get it cut after the leg surgery.

Have a safe and happy day everyone.

Good morning, all. I didn't get home from the Conway Planning Board meeting till after 10 pm, so a slow start today.  There's hay on the ground but the overcast and a damp easterly breeze may prevent baling it.  If it gets rained on tomorrow, it'll be construction hay after we bale it to get it off the field.  Which is $$, so worth the diesel and time.

The Strawberry Moon from a couple nights ago. Mostly a Big whoop I think made up by the weather weasels. The
Doll let the hook set and had us up to midnight until it rose above the tree line.

Jerry asked me; "Karl what does light duty include?"
I can report it is a 'pigment' of one's imagination that often fails to bear fruit :-\

Here it consisted of only mowing half of the lawn after airbrushing the rails sf 25-30 feet of track rust color on the addition I've been working on. The back, tho, did hurt too much for extra steps.  :o

I may haul the Doll over to the W side of the state, not sure yet. I've been debating with myself.

Quite the snow shot Rick. We found some snow the last time, mid May, in the ditches across the North road from Munising to Grand Marias.

Just an old sunup shot from over the winter.

Little else to add today. FYI TomO I love a parade, hate politics, so will refrain.

Sorry Rick, I hate windmills. Imagine what a neat image that would be without them.  :o

Food afternoon everyone,

Been a busy couple of days here as I needed to arrange transportation home as I had an "incident" driving to work Wednesday morning as I literally ran into an accident.  :o  The portion of road is a divided double lane road with a speed limit of 55mph.  I live for work at 4:45  am and the section of road where I found the accident has no lights and trees along both sides of the road Which made it pitch black.  The vehicle I ran into was black with no lights on and was straddling both lanes of the road.  The other vehicle (besides me) was blocking traffic in the other direction.  I guessing that the accident happened a couple of minutes before I found it.  The airbags did it job as I suffered no injuries or soreness in the aftermath.  The front driver side of the my car looks like someone who was pissed off with a sledgehammer took their frustrations out on the car.  ;D   Just waiting on the estimate on how much it will take to fix it.  The car wasn't even 6 months old yet.  At least the officer at the accident told me not to worry about it as it wasn't my fault I just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.  When I downloaded my dash cam footage, it confirmed it, I really had no time to react.  I'll be using a co-workers SUV to get home (both vehicles are company vehicles).

Last night I spent packing up my train stuff and tonight's plan is to start packing most of my clothes and start purging the kitchen stuff I brought.  Seeing as this is my last project on the road, there is a lot of stuff I can get rid of.

Have a great day everyone.

Glad you're OK, and glad it's a company car so they have to deal with the insurance agents...

We never had a claim on our insurance when we lived in BC.  Since the insurance comes from the province, how do they handle claims?  Do you go back to the agent where you got your license plates?

Good morning everyone.

Twin Falls weather: Mostly cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 85.

I see ACLTom is here as well so maybe two breakfasts.

Coffee, sodas and OJ are ready.
Pork roll, egg and cheese on an everything bagel for breakfast.

Greg, sorry about the crappy service.

Ron, sorry about the accident but glad you weren't hurt.
Was this the new company truck or a rental?

Karl, I couldn't see the strawberry moon because of clouds.
I agree with you about the wind farms.

James, glad the hay baling went well.

ACLTom, your update looked good.

Jerry, have fun with the kids.

TomO, I'd never attend such an event.
Especially knowing who is partially funding it.
To each their own, but please be safe out there.

How's everyone else doing?

Got to Twin Falls and Star and I walked along the Snake River Canyon.
Saw a couple of waterfalls and a site that brought back an old memory.

A short video about an event that I'm sure you all remember: https://youtube.com/shorts/9AgFXaJDerY

And a photo from yesterdays walk.

Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, bagels, yogurt, OJ, and soda.

Started out with a walk at 78F and extreme humidity. As soon as I stepped outside this morning I almost turned around to go back inside. :o MOH gets back late tonight. ;D

Yesterday I built the Bowser boxcar then weathered it and it currently resides on a siding of the layout.

Today is sheet and towel washing along with the everyday chores. I'll try to run a train today for a bit. Not much else planned.

I hope everyone has a good day.
