Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Curt and congrats on the ribbons won.

This morning I'm working on some minor 1:1 stuff and when the Judge calls, I'll help him with posting photos so he can finish his Saturday Report.

I'm not sure yet what my afternoon will bring.

Have a safe and happy day everyone.

Tom

Morning Curt and incoming crew,

Gave the 1:1 roof another look yesterday before the good winter stuff arrives and cleaned the gutters. What was suppose to be a windy and rainey day is calm so far. Had yet another dangling shingle on the steep side. A mear 10-12 pitch on the gambrel....not certain the pitch....looks like a barn roof.

Playing 3d printer designer with plenty of fails this week. Piddling as usual.

I have one of those cheaper fitbits. My wife and I compete in steps and she ALWAYS wins. It actually motivates me to walk more Curt. She averages about 6000 and I try to get about 3-4 thousand. Glad the show went well!

My father in law (John) had a 60 Chevy C 10 beater and he would spit tobacco out the hole rusted in the floorboard. He would drive 40mph and a string of traffic was always following him. What a beater that old truck was! I sure folks in Madison Indiana hated him.

Tom, Great ideas bloomimg on the fire hydrant yet? Have fun with it! Great photos from Howard's!

Morning Gents,

Curt thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Congrats on the ribbons and the $$. Hope you get your car sorted out soon.

Tom enjoy your day whatever you decide to do.

Philip I had my back roof redone this last summer right down to the rafters; nothing to mess around with.

What's on your agenda.

It's 61 with a high of 74 then it goes downhill from there in New York. Hopefully some bench time later this am. Not sure after that.

Have a great day!! Be well.

Sun showed it's face and allowed me to mow yesterday :D  The newly repaired zero turn worked well.  Did the bulk of mowing with the bigger Deere.

Fell asleep after a shower doing my PT 'homework' felt 1/2 a bubble off the rest of the day.  Seem to be noticing things not tasting like they used to.

Rain and wind the forecast for today.  Drizzle at the moment and dull grey :-\

Geeks coming this afternoon. :P

My pathetic football team fell flat, yet again, ~36-13 or so.  Coaches job is on the skids.  Our hockey team, they're back on top, beat Boston this weekend according to new reports. That program has had about 15 or more years of raging mediocrity.

Layout time may occur today, I swept up some and did a little ballasting down there last evening as the Doll zoned out on some 17th century tv series she's been binging on.

No football here today, LIONS will be on the early Monday nite game.  While playing ok they aren't the powerhouse they were last year.  Still, not the standing joke they were for 20-30 or more years.

All I got...KSinMI

Curt, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
Congratulations on the ribbons and $$ and hope the car is fixed soon.

Karl, hope your taste buds are OK.
Beautiful fall photo.

Larry, have fun at the bench.

Philip, be very careful on the roof.

Mike, I guess we'll be sitting on opposite sides of the stadium today.
May the best team win.

TomO, I see you changed the name of your RR.

Ron and Jerry, do you think Max can still win the championship this year?

Dave, hope you make more good progress on the second floor.

James, enjoy your travels.

Other than driving yesterday I didn't do much else.
I'm about 35 miles from Reno.
I'll drive there this morning.
First to an REI to find out about some good hikes and then to a BWW to watch the Redskins play.

Good afternoon everyone,

It's a little late for breakfast, but I'll have a coffee, thanks Curt.

Curt, glad to hear yesterday was a very successful day with a big haul of ribbons.

Tom, two more pictures of Howard's layout with no track in them.  The details are insanely amazing.  :o

Philip, hope the roof repair is only a small issue.

Larry, enjoy your day.

Karl, glad to hear that the mower is working great.

Rick, the answer is no, it will be one of the Maclaren drivers, just not sure which one.

Jerry, I hope your bench time is successful today.

Currently 20c (68f) and cloudy.  Had a great time running trains yesterday and there was a good turnout.  Today's plan is to give Gracie a walk, then watch the F1 race.  Might make it to the layout tonight.

Have a great day everyone.

Good afternoon,

Curt, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast.  Congrats on the successful day with ribbons.

TomACL, good luck with the 1:1 stuff.

Philip, congrats on the 1:1 stuff.  Good luck with the 3D printing.

Larry, good luck getting to the bench.

Karl, congrats on the ballast work.

Rick, I was hoping you were out in the wilderness and unable to watch the game. ;D  Indeed, any given day at any given time!

Jerry, good luck with both the 1/1 and 1/87, or is it 1/48?

Ron, glad you had a fun day at the open house.

How is the rest of the crew?

I woke up to rain, glorious rain.  Sadly, the sun is shining now, but the high is only 74°F.  Football this afternoon after watching TV with Sharon.

Have fun,
mike

Sunny and warm today, I'm just back from walking the dogs.  But we might get rain tomorrow, and That Would Be A Good Thing.  I just did a long post on "Hank's Machine Shop" thread of my experience designing and connecting my machine tools.  You guys working in O scale have so much more room to work around your tools.  ;D

I have 2 concurrent projects, the machine shop and my DC/DCC testbed.  The latter has been my 'background task' that I do when I'm bored/frustrated/waiting for glue or paint to dry.  For the machine shop, I ordered some small metal tubing that I'll paint up to put on the racks, etc as shop stock in the storage area.  I'm priming some styrene strips, rods, and angles, and then I'll go over those and the stuff arriving tomorrow/Tuesday various metallic and light rust colors.

Has anyone else noticed how unreliable Amazon delivery has gotten?  About half the stuff I've ordered where "next day delivery" is promised has taken 2 days to arrive (or in a few cases, even more...)

Hi

Yes Rick I changed the layout name and my Facebook page name. Both are now WISCONSIN INTERSTATE.

It's more reflective of my freelance modeling interests and it's an easier name to remember. I also joined a group of freelance model railroaders that are operating like Watco does with its railroads. We have a corporate umbrella company (MacTransportation) and right now there are 8 other free lance railroads in the group. It's been fun and it has re-ignited my modeling interests beyond just the weathering I've basically been concentrating on since 2018

Be well

Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, bagels, english muffins, yogurt, OJ, and soda.

Started out the day with a walk at 68F but with slightly higher humidity than last week. The only thing I did in the train room yesterday was take the weight off the 2 repair shop walls. I just couldn't get into modeling mentally.

Today after chores I'll head to the workbench. Friday night is the makeup german potluck from last month and Saturday is a skunk event that goes very late for "Ghostfest", and we're waiting on the van.

That's all I got.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning,

I see Curt's here so we may have breakfast choices this morning. The coffee's ready as well as your usual morning beverages. Breakfast is as follows: buttermilk biscuits, Country Gravy, fried taters, and your choice of crispy bacon and/or pan sausages.

Curt I see you're here and enjoy the bench time. Hope you get the van sorted out soon.

What are you up to today?

It's a rainy 55 with a high of only 57; yesterday It reached 78 and was very windy. Ground up the leaves and by days end you couldn't tell it had been done....oh well. A couple of errands shortly to start my Monday. I have a workbench and a parts bin coming from Rusty Rail sometime today; like I need more details to paint. So some bench time later on.

Have a great day!! Be well.

Morning all,

Thanks for the breakfast choices Curt and Larry.

It must have rained some during the night as everything is wet.

I need to make a trip to the local hobby shop. Not much else is going on for me today.

Have a safe and healthy day everyone.

Good morning folks,

Curt, thanks for opening and coffee. Sounds like a fun week.

Larry, good luck with the rest of the leaves.

TomO, the freelance modeling group sounds like fun.

Dave, good ideas for stocking the shelving.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's 42°F, headed to 74°F this afternoon.  Clear skies.  It was a great weekend football-wise.  They seem to be rare these days.  I'm off to the doctor in a bit for my annual exam. Hopefully, I can make progress on the stock car and oil derrick this afternoon.

Have fun,
mike

Good morning everyone.

Sparks, NV weather: 46 now and sunny, with a high near 65.

Curt thanks for the bagel and Larry for the coffee.

Curt, hope you get the van back soon.

Larry, have fun painting details.

TomO, get news about getting excited about your modeling interests.

Mike, congratulations to you and your team.
I had a bad feeling about this years season and thought the 'Skins would take a step backward.

Ron, Max is making it interesting.

Dave, since I'm on the road I haven't ordered anything from Amazon.

Jerry, did you get things right?

What's everyone else up to.

Watched a miserable football game but enjoyed a very tasty bacon cheeseburger.
My travel plans have changed since talking to a couple of REI employees.
My intention was to spend a few weeks in NV but I was told the best hiking is just over the border in CA.
After a couple of errands this morning I'll drive about 80 miles to my next hike.
After that it's south to the Eastern Sierras.

Hager Mtn. hike.

Have a great day everyone.
