Good morning everyone.

Low forty's now and cloudy with a high of 58 later here in the Sierras.

Curt, thanks for the coffee and breakfast and good news on the kit progress.

Larry, carry on with the detail painting.

Jerry, hope you enjoy your company's company.

James, are you back from your trip?

Philip, that's just a drawing that I posted.
The truck I saw on the road has the usual fifth wheel arrangement you see on all 18 wheelers.

Ron, hockey or hobby last night?

TomO, how was the movie and how'd the bridge look on the layout?

Dave, nice fall photo.

Terry, good morning.

Mike did you get the cattle car frame straight again?

Karl, hope you're making progress with the 3D printing.

Star and I hiked to the Sierra Buttes Lookout yesterday.
There are stairs that lead to the top of the overlook.
Those stairs weren't dog friendly so I had Star tied up at the bottom while I climbed up.
Another hike planned for today.

This isn't a very good phone photo but it shows where we hiked to.
If you zoom in to the top of the peak in the middle, you'll barely see the lookout we hiked to.

Rain and 450 going to Rain and 480

Little to report.

3d not going as I like, backwards.

Much needed rain here today.  The oaks are turning.  Unfortunately, even after they go brown, the leaves hang on for a long time.  Our yard guy needs to come by and run the mower to pick up what's fallen so far.

Back to the train room in a bit, today is a free day with no appointments for anything, and no need to go to the store.

Good morning Curt, Larry, Rick, Karl, Dave and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Curt.

Going to keep this brief as I have another busy day ahead of me.  Temperature is currently 8c (47f), overcast with rain in the forecast.  Last night I added the first coat of joint compound over the backdrop seams.  Tonight's plan is to sand and add the second coat of joint compound.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning. It's 40f degrees climbing to 47. We got our rain and wind yesterday morning but it's still very wet out there

The movie was After the Hunt starring Julia Roberts who did not flash that world famous smile once in 2:18 minutes of slow motion acting. Filmed with a very dark background it was tough to stay awake. A very believable story until the ending but NO I'm not going to recommend this one.

The bridge is still on my bench, hopefully today. Life interfered on his side.

Granddaughter has her adaptive soccer game at 5:30 at the home gym. We will be there

I am not starting the next layout project until maybe Monday. Even when my friend called to cancel me coming over it felt good, a relief. I guess I didn't realize how involved I got with the Swing Bridge project. Terry laughed when I mentioned it yesterday she said she knew I was in one of my zones

Against our combined better judgment we are going to look at a new VW for me this afternoon. Terry's sales guy called Monday and offered a crazy trade in amount for my Jetta. My driving restrictions due to health are gone so we have been thinking about getting an additional car. If she gets a car as always it will definitely have more performance then my staid old Jetta she doesn't enjoy

Be well
TomO

Lately that hasn't worked out at all.

Everyone have a great day!!  :)

Good morning folks,

Curt, thanks for opening.  I'm looking forward to the repair shop assembly.

Larry, it's all in the details.

Rick, that's quite a hike and steep.

Karl, good luck with the 3D...persist.

Dave, wishing you a great day in the train room.

Ron, that backdrop is going to look fantastic.

TomO, good luck with the car purchase.

Jerry, hope you get time for the bench.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's a bright morning at 46°F, headed to 72°F. I have several 1:1 tasks today, but I hope to get upstairs this afternoon.

The cattle car straightened after the hairdryer and weights.  I added the fencing and walls, couplers, stirrups, and trucks.  It's down to the details now.

Have fun,
mike

Huzzah!

I managed to produce a third set of Rooks on the resin printer... :o it seems something is clicking a bit. Need to go on past the rooks before I relax.

Not been facing air quality issues in this series of experiments.  My cabinet, carbon filters and outside exit are working well.

Thanks Mike, persist I shall ;)

Moving into a Castle Karl? Yeah man those printers require intestinal fortitude. PIA for real. I just finished a 2 hour print and discovered it failed. Why...well I printed the wrong file. CRAP!

I'm looking a chatgpt again today. That thing will design an STL file of anything. I truly believe the design industry is going to be in trouble once AI is perfected.

Cool Truck Rick!

Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, bagels, yogurt, OJ, and soda. Sorry no donuts.

Woke up this morning feeling like I was late for something, but I wasn't. It appears the German potluck has been delayed again. :-\ Dad has a senior excursion today into early evening so MOH, son, and myself will go out to supper with just the 3 of us.

Yesterday I got to the point of working on the roof of the repair office which I should finish today.

Not much else happening this way.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Karl nice you're getting the hang of the 3D printer world.

Philip on head of one of the Star Trek sims I write on uses Chatgpt & AI and has made some awesome Star Bases, Ships, and interiors....pretty amazing stuff.

What's on your plate today?

It's still raining right through Sunday @ 44 with a high of 53 Here in New York; we need the rain. Taking Ellie later today to the hairdresser so hopefully more time painting details beforehand. Not much else going on here.

Have a great day!! Be well.

Good morning everyone.

My weather in the Sierra's: low 40's now and sunny with a high in the upper 50's.

Curt, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
Enjoy your dinner with the family and have fun with the kit.

Mike, good news on the cattle car.

Jerry, how was your day yesterday?

Cold with rain most of the last 24-36, a short peek at the sun  8) this morning with more rain to predominate the guesser's forecasts.  They've been using the term "lake effect" in their rain guesses recently. New to me. :-\

No, chess not in my plans.  The test print program on the memory stick that comes with the printer has that design preloaded.  I'll try to import a file, convert and print it later in the day.  PT is at noon so I'll not start anything, and the Doll's cat is back at the vet'$ office yet again, won't heal a sore.  $tressing the Doll as well as the creature and the budget.  I may need to go with her later to deal with that.

Chatgpt is changing lots of things, the .stl creation may be interesting.  My graphics art daughter recently was using it a fair bit in her work designing internet advertising.  She recently changed jobs and isn't as involved in the graphics as before.  The Dutchman, Bruce DeYoung posted some chatgpt images incorporating some of his models on his U-toob channel. :o  Only one thing I've noticed in any ai manipulated images is they seem to incorporate some other worldly lettering in places.

All I have today.  Everyone enjoy the day.

Had some home baked cornbread I've enjoyed this morning.  Great when it was still warm yesterday. ;D

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Curt. Enjoy your dinner with family.

I played hooky yesterday from the forum. Just got busy and then was to lazy to come out and post anything. I also took Pam out to dinner last night.

I have been upgrading scenery and will finish up later this afternoon. Then I'll need to clean up the material not used.

Bowling was good Tuesday, we won 6 out of 8 points.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning from frosty Wisconsin. 36f/2c feels like 29/-2 but heading to 56/13. There was frost on the grass this morning. It's is extremely clear and there is a bright orb in the sky

Breakfast is out this morning. I then plan to spend most of the afternoon at the workbench over at the daughter's studio/office. I am going to relax (he-he) by starting 2 projects at once. Both are single track swing bridge commissions. I will paint and matte clear coat most of the parts on the sprues before cutting them off. Some of the ideas I learned from my double track Swing Bridge thread I will be using on these 2 bridges

The granddaughters game was great. The Verona Area High School football players showed up to cheer her team on. It was quite a sight and had her mom and grandmother in tears along with quite a few others in the crowd. They lost!

The car! I dislike intensely the process of buying a car. My brother and sister inherited the car gene thing from our dad who was a car salesman and dealer when we were growing up. I did not. I don't need a new car and decided I'm keeping mine. Terry wants another car in the house. She can buy one. A reasonable SUV with the combined household money or a ridiculous sports car with her own money. I no longer bet but if I still was I'd bet on the ridiculous one

Enjoy your day
TomO
