Sun and cool, 40s, but rain and storms due by afternoon.

I may get at some hobby stuff today, not sure.

Little new to add this morning.  We did enjoy the LIONS game last night.  They were getting pretty thin depth wise by the end of the game.  They have a weekend off coming so hopefully can find some more bodies for their next game.

The part for the 3d printer arrived, I 'll see if I can made the  :-X  thing work.  I seem to be going backwards with it.

Have a fine day all.  Be well

Good morning folks,

Rick, thanks for opening, coffee, and eggs. Love the photo. Good luck on the hikes.

Curt, missing parts can drive you crazy.  Of course, if it had been a snake...  Hope the car repair was a good one.

Larry, the lathe sounds neat.  Have fun painting all the little stuff.

TomACL, congrats on the new chair.  Good luck on the lanes.

Karl, best of luck with the printer.

How is the rest of the gang?

It's a bright morning at 46°F, headed to 79°F.  The resin frame on the cattle car warped, I guess from the glue and birdshot.  I heated it with a hair dryer and held it true with weights.  I'll see if that worked. Will continue on the oil derrick.

Have fun,
mike

Tom...be sure to weather and age the chair so it appears well used but not abused ;-))

A picture from here.  Leaves this year are mixed.  When a tree turns, the leaves don't stay around very long. But the colors have been more intense than I expected, the oaks in particular are getting some nice deep red before they turn brown.  The yellow and red in this, though, are maples.

Good morning. It's 42f degrees heading to 50.

Movie to see at 12:30 and I'll report as to how bad it is tomorrow, I hope the reviewers are wrong

After the movie I will take the Swing Bridge over to its layout. Pick up 2, 3 or 4 open girder bridges for the approaches and build them over the next couple weeks. Today is positioning day for the swing bridge. The owner has spent the last couple of days adjusting the framework around the scene to make the approaches work better (straighter). He will keep the bridge for a couple weeks and when satisfied with the positioning I will get it back to my bench for the final weathering. The abutments for the river bank are aged but not weathered. I will weather them in place down the road when most of the scene is completed and water added to the river

I am still very excited about this project but sometimes feel handcuffed as to what I can do. Commission work is one thing. Get the model, weather it and return it. While I take extreme pride with my work, it's gone when I get it to the post office. This is a project I am invested in. I'm helping build a layout and a scene that I will see and operate on for hopefully a longtime. But I also have to follow along and not March to my own drum! I'm finding that a touch frustrating. The owner is a great guy but is very methodical and calculates everything. Nothing wrong with that but I like quicker decisions

Dinner with the daughter's family tonight. It's a rare occurrence till Spring but there are no practices or games tonight for either grandkid. The g/s turn to pick. It had to be a sit down, order from a menu at a table and they serve, an exception for him is no brew pubs or Mexican. His sister can only remember those when it's her turn to pick. He picked Hibachi

Enjoy the day

Good morning everyone,

Thanks for the coffee and breakfasts Rick and Curt.

Currently 9c (48f)and sunny here.  Had a little rain when I started driving to work this morning, but it didn't last long.  Didn't make it to bench last night as I decided to watch the hockey game instead, the Habs won, so it was a great night.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning all, How does that Tesler closely connected  ;)  truck corner? It has to have some radius shaped trailer!

No problem with Amazon here so far. Those self driving rigs are negotiating new contracts is what I heard.....

Made some shelves with more peg boards yesterday. What a hoot.

Possible, which would likely make the tractors incompatible with standard trailers.  Or a fancy sensor/servo setup to keep the edge of the fairing an inch from the trailer (until something goes wrong).

Good afternoon, all, looking at a forecast of clouds and rain forecast into the weekend here.  If the Fruity Forecast is more optimistic than the actual weather, as it has been today, I'll get everything I brought read with some time to catch up on the writing side of my hobbies.

Dave the photo you snapped of the foliage shows your house having a "mean lean" to it; hope it's just the angle of the camera and it's not actually like that.

Yeah, wide angle lens barrel distortion (https://www.ico-optics.org/spherical-aberration-and-image-distortion-in-simple-lenses ) ...  I've been in some old houses that have tilts to them, but not quite that bad.

I rented an upstairs apartment once the entrance door scraped at the hinge end and the latch end was close to a 1.25" gap to the floor.

I bet that door either slammed shut or sprung open when not latched!

PRR Modeler

Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, bagels, yogurt, donuts, OJ and soda.

Started out the day with a walk at 70F and mild humidity. Yesterday I trimmed the hedge after the sky cleared up. On the work bench I completed the 4 repair shop walls and built the platform they sit on.

Today after floors I hope to assemble the 4 walls on the platform.

Rick the scenery in your last video is stunning. It looks like you're on top of the world.

That's it.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning,

Curt thanks for the coffee and breakfast this morning. Enjoy your time at the bench.

What's your plans for the day?

I'd a rainy 45 with a high of only 56 in New York. Looks like rain for the next few days. Have to get my hairs cut later this morning; that'll take about 15 minutes. Then a quick errand before returning home. Started painting details yesterday and more of the same today hopefully.

Have a great day!! Be well.
