Thanks for stopping by the thread - I will post a note here when I add pictures to the posts in past pages. I will be keeping to the pace of posting a few pictures each week of a new structure and then adding to some of the past posts. I also need to update the index.

Tom I will add pictures to the Howard Zane thread as soon as I get a chance - it will make a great summer evening project out in the gazebo.

Yes Hal, thank you for the wonderful photos.  Amazing what you can "learn" just by studying some great photos.

Thanks again.

What brand figures did George use? Does anyone know?

I talked to George today and he told me that 85% of the figures on the F&SM are Preiser. His comment was that they are the best proportioned figures and the correct size for HO.  He mentioned that he has of the old Westen figures on the layout but he had to make sure that they were not close to andy Preiser figures because the people would look 12 foot tall.  He did mention that he likes the new figures from Woodland Scenics but he doesn't have many on the layout because they haven't been out that long. George also mentioned that he has been given figures from many different sources over the years and that many of the non Preiser figures are probably custom.

A few F&SM updates from my phone conversation with George today.

- George is working on the castings for his new kit. I know this isn't his favorite part of producing a kit. It is very hard, hot work, but it is one of the key ingredients to the value of a FSM kit.

- He has a few more of The Hazen Boyd Company kits left so if you want one you better write that check now.

- I told George that I was encouraged by the number of younger people that I saw at the EXPO this year. We had a good laugh over how younger gets older every year.

- George is very excited about the new kit, he is marching to his usual timing for an announcement.

- We talked about the water details on Sam's best of show at the EXPO. Sam,  George sends his congratulations and he is going to check your thread for the details on the water.  He wanted to know if I got my camera wet taking the pictures. I'm also sending him your email address if it is okay with you.

- Finally, George is glad we have last winter behind us - just like the rest of us that live on this side of the Mississippi. He has to sell more kits this year to pay for a new snow shovel to replace the one he wore out.

As requested, I will be adding a post to let you know when to go back and look at pictures added in prior posts.  I updated the pictures on page 27 of the CC Crow Engine House kit bash. I didn't have a name for the kit but found a picture from across the layout that allowed for a blowup of the side with the name.  It is the Adams & Westlake MFG. Co.

At this point I would like to backup a few feet to add a few more structures just before the covered bridge. The first is  Jerome Marble & Co.
